Got myself a bourbon burst 60´s Les Paul Standard just a few weeks ago - and LOVIN´ IT! (Ser.# 118290401). Thank you, lovely people at Gibson, for that most beautiful instrument!
Love these episodes, keep em comin' Rock on Gibson
Another great day, Thanks Gibson
I have seven guitars, 3 Yamaha, 1 Epiphone, 1 Gretsch, 1 PRS, and a Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop with P90's. The Gibson is my go-to. The quality is superb.
I love my Les Paul - 2019 Classic - Sweetwater Exclusive in Green Ocean Burst. People like to rip on Gibson (over-priced, poor quality, won't stay in tune, etc) but I will tell you my Les Paul is amazing, solid as a rock, sounds fantastic, plays smooth as butter, and looks all the business....mojo for days!
Absolutely loving these process videos! Keep them coming please!
The amount of care and detail put into each guitar really makes me appreciate my guitars so much more than i already did. Love Gibson and a huge ES fan.
Love you guys! Keep up the great work 🤘🏻❤️
i went ahead and made myself a stratocaster body but i did it with a maple top and mahogany back like a les paul, its a hard tail and it turned out great! i wish i lived near Gibson ide love to make guitars!
That's some real attention to detail.
The Gibson guitars have true sound and they are inspirational to write music. That is the most important thing...
Very interesting stuff!
I am going to have to get up there and tour the facility one day soon. I have a Les Paul Studio from the mid 80's and really enjoy that guitar.
I love knowing what goes in to creating guitars. Thanks! Keep it real.
Me too lol
Beautiful guitar
love this series Gibson. when will we see the part where you sue the competition?
Love my 2018 Mojave Burst Standard!! Literally the culmination of a 25 year long dream, it Really is my Dream Guitar!
also, y'all hurry up with those Acoustic guitars! Lol
Cool idea with the fire hoses!
I wondered why sometimes the same neck profile feels different. I didn’t realize they were completed by hand. Great video. The 60s slim tapered neck profile is the greatest profile ever known to mankind. Okay, in my opinion.
Hello everyone. I currently own to gibson guitars, a Gibson Les Paul cm 2016 and a Gibson SG tribute 2019, both have rounded necks and I was wondering if the difference with a Slim tapper neck is substantial?. I like the feel of both guitars but got some time getting used to the SG as I feel it a Little to thick for my hand. Thanks !
the best of the word.....
GO GIBSON!
Loving this series. Any chance of combining these short films into a documentary to buy/download?
Love my Les Pauls!!
How do you keep the glue applied to the neck for the fingerboard over the truss rod, from gluing the truss rod in place making unable to turn.
im having a custom 59 built right now by a luthier. even has the proper 50s gibson logo with the slanted g.
i think ill also order a flying V from Kiesel.
Why not build them yourself? It's wonderful work.
So, soapbaxearth. You are having someone build you a counterfeit Gibson. Rather illegal, eh?
I absolutely love my 2019 50's Les Paul standard that I've lusted over for over 25 years, looking at Les Paul standards in magazines since I was about 13. Thank you so much Gibson for making outstanding guitars.
NEVER stop shaping the necks by hand!!!! I love the fact that i can grab 2 identical models and they both be slightly different. My dream neck may be someone else's nightmare. It makes the hunt that much better one u find the right one
hi , what is the wood glue name, GIBSON use for guitar construction?
I love these guitars. The three I own play and sound so great. It also amazes me how well the case holds that Gibson smell. Keep up the great work! 😊 🎸
There made in China so I hope they don't hold Coronavirus too long!
12 South I don’t see the point in your untrue, and insensitive comment.
@@Eeuwit BTW, stop sniffing your case and play your guitar!
Eeuwit I watched Trogly’s Guitar show the other day and when he checked the case it said made in China. He is correct that the cases are being made in China but, this is the first year they are doing this.
Made well in the USA! Great job Gibson!
Love this series, ty Gibson, gonna draw a picture of Les on my channel soon as a tribute to the great man
Promise kept
Is this a general Gibson line or the custom shop or upper range Standard footage? Do the tributes etc go through all of this process? Do the cheapest Gibsons get this treatment?
Love this, just wondering why they haven’t figured out a inlay spline system at the neck/headstock area to prevent the neck breaking
stewea57 didn’t they come out with something like this recently? Maybe on the ‘high power’ models or something... I could have sworn I saw a new joint on certain models. Anyone?
Not that I’m aware of,
Apex headstock. Google it.
@@Tacopusher wow I didn't know that, it doesn't look like it's on all models though. Wonder if it works, all the neck breaks I have seen were at the top of the neck, interesting I'm glad they are finally looking at this
The best Gibson i own was made in Kalamazoo Michigan.
The best Gibson i owned i sold because i hated it
does gibson do tours of the nashville plant?
Strats playing in the background.
I want one of those Black Gibson work shirts, Where you guys sell that merch...
They have a merch section on their website.
Hmmm that serial number thing is interesting. Mine start with 23500 but the inspection card says she was made on 09/08/20... That is definitelly not the 350th day of the year. :)
Wasn't the guy at 3:48 on the "Miami Vice" TV series?! He played the streetwise informant.
the last background music sounds so similar to SRV "Lenny"
just came to my mind that he's known for strats lol
Love the history but please, drop your lawsuits to Kiesel and the rest.
Glenn Saunders they have lawsuits against kiesel??????
Kiesel is suing Harley Benton. Lol
Fuck Gibson. D-Bags
It was a cease and desist
@alan wake For a ripoff of the Osiris
Hi Gibson, I hardly saw this one, I like Desiatia to have an electric guitar, by the way, I'm from Colombia
I’m loving all the new content guys. If you need a content creator or guitar creator to join the team I would be willing to join. Ive been a sign designer/fabricator for 20 years. I need a change and I love guitars.
Uploaded a cartoon me version of the great man, Les Paul, as per promise yesterday, hope you all like it.
Me da uma!!!
Les Cesar and James in these video and more real employees
Gibson is number one please give me a Gibson Les Paul
At what point in the process does the steamroller come into play?
never, the manager who allowed that to happen has not worked for gibson for years
Noah Dulin too bad. The less Gibson out there, the better
Nugly hey man that’s just rude. I actually love building guitars
Noah Dulin and I’m sure your guitars are awesome. And it may but rude, but Gibson for years has been a shitty company making mediocre guitars at a boutique price point.
Как специалисты фабрики Gibson относятся к установке на их гитары системы String Butler ?
Show us your lawyers office, he is killing this iconic brand.
Kiesel makes 4000 guitars a year leave them alone
Is that why they cost so much?
SuperJiggawhat By more do you mean less? I spec’ed out a dream guitar and it cost $800 less than my $3400 Les Paul that hasn’t held tune for 6 pick stroke since I got it. Oh! I should mention the the fretboard is thinner than the neck. And I wouldn’t be a steward of truth if I didn’t mention how the screws for my strap came with stripped wood. Literally, the first time I put it on with a strap, the screw came out and the guitar almost hit the floor. Sorry bud, your jug doesn’t hold water. And Gibson doesn’t make quality guitars anymore. I am buying a Keisel next!
@@joshuaschmidt2382 Ok first off @JoshuaSchmidt, I wasn't judging anyone by asking a simple question on the price. I don't think they are that cool looking personally, to many trendy things going on for me. You might as well buy a Jackaon ad save some....im going to say it.....money. Yes Gibson can be hit or miss, and it looks like in your case it was a pure miss. I am actually a fan of both brands, but my love will always be what ever feels good and is built correctly. I had a similar experience with Gibson the second time I bought one, but that also could have been who I bought it from. I find the big box stores like Guitar Center and....Guitar Center have some of the worst Gibson's in stock. The setups right out of the box is just ridiculous, and 9-10 of them will have bent necks and so forth. Later dude ✌
@@joshuaschmidt2382 that's the problem right there. You are spending way to much on guitars that you haven't played yet. If I was going to spend that much on anything I would definitely have tried it before i bought it. Sounds like you bought a guitar for a stupid price, expecting it to work perfectly. Every guitar needs a set up, and maybe some tweeking before it will play right, also the wood needs to set in. I wasn't judging at first, but now it looks like I may have to lay the hammer down because son.....you can't touch this.
SuperJiggawhat If this is still bothering you in another couple of months, you should call me for some help. I didn’t realize or care that you were still thinking about this.
Les Paul son Gene has a UA-cam page dedicated to his dad les paul ! Gene paul is the page name and he just updated a new video today. I highly recommend a visit to his channel as he only has 267 subscribers.
I don't get where the haters get all there stories from i have sevaeral gibsons, LP std , standard historic 59 LP , 335, and a SG....never had a single tuning issue with any of them.....everyone of them is a dream to play, everyone has awesome tone (better than that irritating twang fender produce)....thanks to the people of Gibson for making my guitar playing past time a pleasure.
I love the Les Paul guitar. I cannot afford one. I wish Gibson would donate one to me. But if they did, they would have to give everyone else one also. So I am out of luck. But I am building a Les Paul style kit.
Open book headstock = O.W. Appleton (his legacy lives on too)
Wanted.. Firebird x in any condition. Seriously.
My dream job would be to make les Paul's all day .
mark dalton enjoy 12.50$ per hour buddy
I seriously doubt that.
Would you do it for Min wage and be pushed to your limits each day? Do you like a hostile work environment? Then Gibson is for you.
As long as I got a free les Paul out of it , that job is for me .
Just bought a brand new SG from CME. The “tektoid” nut is atrocious. Work so sloppy I had to make a new one. Gibson has a long way to go. Gibson, you could learn a few things from PRS.
brand new so it was under warranty until you fucked with it.....facepalm.....anyone with half a braincell checks out a guitar properly to eliminate any concerns especially when spending a lot of money on a guitar regardless of manufacturer....which means either you don't know what to look for or you assumed everything would be perfect.....how is your whirlpool washing machine (they shipped 2 million defective units)
Matthew Shaw should’ve returned it man. Idk about Gibson USA, but Gibson custom has made my favorite guitars. Then again, I know $5000-$7000 is not attainable for the average Joe. I thought the new USA line was a step in the right direction. I guess not
They’re showing why they suck . One lathe or cnc machine slightly out , before you know it . 300 messed up Les Paul or Sg ‘s are made . They just keep on trucking instead of throwing them out . I guess that’s why GC has so many messed up new guitars
My SG last month was perfect!!! Sorry sucker 😂
Guitars should not be purchased online.
Rerelease the 1984 explorer
хочу гитару Гибсон
Where’s the machine that builds faults into the headstock?
Wrench Head
You didn’t see it? It’s the inflatable firehouse thingy. It puts too much pressure on the neck joint.
"CNC machines make great guitar parts but people make great guitars".🇬🇾
I want a Gibson so bad I would take the lowest model les paul I won’t play a Gibson till I own one so I have yet to play one. And I have been playing guitar for about four years never played a les paul just my thinking I don’t want to get hooked and not be able to buy one. With two kids and a mortgage it’s very hard to buy one 🤞🏻 crossed sooner rather than later!!
If you can’t afford a Les Paul, and I understand because they’re expensive, get an Epiphone Les Paul. I started on an Epiphone Les Paul Special, very bare bones guitar, but made far better than anything else in its price range. And try to find a used one, they’re even cheaper. An Epiphone is a great guitar!!!
Episode Seven: Legal Demand Letter Writing
UA-cam, leave the guitarologist alone
who is in charge of removing the neck binding and scratching the fretboard with their tools?
Where is Custom Silverburst Adam Jones signature ? 😅
I love that there are actual craftsmen/women doing this - but it is simply a lie to say a machine, cnc or otherwise, could not get the neck shape to how you want it. It is tradition that you have people do it. But a machine could produce everyone within a much closer tolerance than the most experienced person.
What is your evidence of this? Gibson uses a plek for the fretwork. If Chinese Epiphones were truly making a better product you’d at least see SOME famous or known musicians choosing them over Gibson but at this point that number is 0. Slash of course used a copy LP on Appetite but from a luthier he knew personally and then spent the rest of his career using Gibsons.
These videos are like crack. Never stop please
And then you lay them out, you destroy the majority and you sell it as a limited edition for just $5,999.99
that has never happened. ever.
@@ndulin1234 type in youtube Gibson Firebird X destroyed. Then look up those guitars on reverb and see who sells them
@@ndulin1234 Looks like they deleted their reverb account too, I guess you missed out on that shit show. But the billdozer running over half a million dollars worth in gibson guitars is still up with gibson luthiers testimonies. Sorry to burst your gibson fan bubble bud. On the bright side, there are tons of actually good guitar companies you can become a fan of.
after watching this, i can justify the price of a gibson
Propaganda, so it worked on you!
American labor costs
While your at it , tell them to at least but a properly cut bone or graphite nut so the thing stays in tune
@@daveduffy2823 Most of the workers make Min Wage. of $7.25 an hour. The few that are shown make more, but not as much as the people at McDonalds down the road.
Never saw a mahogany neck that white.
Just wanted to pray for Nashville and what theyve gone through lately w the tornadoes and weather.
Who killed John Henry...
So 61435X would be May 22 1956?
Maybe you should work on a stronger headstock
Oh you are so clever. Did you think that one up all by yourself? You are a jerk.
First :)
show the machine that makes the headstock break off easily!!!
Some of the worst business practices in the industry. A severely overpriced Epiphone is all they are. Imagine working for a company that is hated this much by the consumer you actually expect us to think the workers put their heart and soul into something that they get bashed about online and in daily life?
Business people have ruined this name and brand...
I get why they cost thousands of dollars now.
i dont understand why some Gibsons have QC issues when this video shows there shouldnt be. what is really going on lol
Please get rid of that horrible wiring harness and go back to hand wired please!
Stop suing everybody you're going to lose a whole generation of players and in 30 years be non-existent
Who are you to tell a major corporation to stop trying to protect their products. You are a jerk.
If your guitars are so well made by such skillful people then why is my fretboard slightly narrower than the neck leaving a lip all the way down the neck, why is it that my bridge inserts are pressed in to the body at a slight angle and why is it that my serial number can be read easily on one half yet the other half of the number can be hardly seen because the paint is so thick, better still why can PRS build a guitar twice as good as my Gibson SG at half the price, even the allen wrench that was supplied didnt even fit the bridge... shameful.... i dont expect an answer,.
Gibson just seems suss.🤔
Why
I believe an expensive guitar should be tested by your own hands before buying. There are locations to buy them all over the world. If you have that kind of money and the talent to play them, you can probably afford transportation. It should not be this way but, blind loyalty to any company with imperfect people will lead to being let down sooner then later. They ship the shit and keep the good stuff to show people in store.
Sebastian LaRosa Yet many other companies, even much cheaper brands don’t have this problem. Why is 1/5 properly setup guitars considered reasonable for Gibson fans? I see better setups on imports these days and this is not a new issue. When I was looking into buying my first $3k+ guitar around 2000 it was crazy how many poorly dressed frets, crooked nuts and bowed necks I saw from Gibson. In 2020 you should be able to buy a nice guitar online and expect it to be setup properly and the vast majority of companies deliver that. We all have our setup preferences but many of these are just plain bad.
Show us the dept. that does the sloppy fit and finish and sends it out the door anyway
meh music was cool
No more Honduran, no more Brazilian... Psh. I'll pass.
Nice video, Fender could learn a thing or two, and instead of their SJW content make social media stuff like Gibson has been doing.
Yah, yah whatever.
When will yall start producing good quality instruments again
1 week from never.
Literally every knockoff is an improvement on the original Gibson.
Gibson needs to do a James Hetfiled Signature before it is to late, if not already? What are you guys thinking? The top metal/hard rock musician of the multi era, that plays Gibson guitars from the start of his career. Crazy IMO.
Henry is out, call Hetfield and get it done Gibson!! Just say YES to whatever he wants. You have nothing to lose but making money.
How it's made: the worst guitar headstocks in the world
No different to a Korean factory. It's all hype about US is best.
LarryUK this is the Gibson USA factory, where all the QC hate has been these past years. Gibson custom is on a whole other level. USA custom shops and the Japanese make the best guitars in the world as of now
Markonefifteen I’ve recently picked up a Japanese Ibanez RT. They made them for just a year in 91 (I think that’s the year). Wonderful quality
LarryUK yup my two favorite guitars are my custom shop ES-355 and my Japanese Gretsch. Amazing quality and sound
100% on the money. Many guitars are made in China then labeled Made In USA.
Stolen design. Mr appleton had this with open book headstock that spell app! He walked in in 48 had design from 43 and was robbed by patent clerk in paper. Got a letter from gibson saying thanks and how much fenders went ahead and how they regret not using it in 48? He was pissed after being bumped by patent clerk and threw away the letter. Well documented the Appleton guitar 43' 9 yrs later gibsons comeback. Gave Appleton nothing. Some people are too trusting. Think gibson sorted him out a nest egg? No. Why share!
Please have a sweepstakes contest for a new CEO and company decision maker. U.S.A sweepstakes for the most knowledgeable person {IN USA}of Gibson history and there process.Someone who looks, feels the part from the heart! Bad advertisement decisions once again guys very bad.
Wooooo. Sue company’s for making a better product similar to yours but never paid your dues to Mr.Appleton!!! Shame on y’all.
