  • When it comes to acoustic guitars, the topic of bracing can be divisive. While some argue that it has no impact on the sound, at Gibson, we believe that the bracing pattern plays a crucial role in shaping the dynamic range and tone of the instrument. Building on the traditions of Orville Gibson, the evolution of Gibson’s bracing and body construction has always been in service to sound. In Season 2, Episode 2 of “The Process,” delve deeper into our approach to bracing and body construction and see for yourself how Gibson’s commitment to sound is woven into every aspect of our guitar-making process.
    Watch the full episode to hear the factory’s history and see the passion that goes into each and every guitar.
    Gibson TV’s award-winning docuseries, “The Process,” is returning for a second season! This time we’re taking you behind the scenes for an in-depth look at the physical process of making our acoustic guitars. “The Process” explores our newly expanded acoustic factory in Bozeman, MT, featuring interviews with the talented craftspeople that hand-make these beloved guitars and deep dives into the art of guitar making.

    I bought my 2023 Gibson J-45 studio brand new yesterday. The guitar speaks for itself of the work that was put into building it. It’s a masterpiece.

    Love these Process videos. Thanks Gibson! I'm thrilled with my Gibson J-185. Best acoustic I've ever played.

    Exactly I'm so glad Cesar gets it, that we are merely custodians. Epiphone Gibson and Kramer have shaped music history and continue to do so and it important that it continues to do so.
    The new management of Gibson are killing it and giving these brands and their heritage the respect they deserve.

    I really like these process videos, which also demonstrate the care, attention and human hands that go into making Gibson acoustics. I’m the proud owner of a new J45 which will stay with me for life. You should be proud of your product and the happiness it gives to the world. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪

    I second that, and the resolution passed. Extremely informative video. Makes me want to go out and buy one. Definitely going to research these. I love my vintage Gibson ES 125T’s but I think I need an acoustic now.

    Great video series!
    I have recently purchased a new 50’s J-50 and it allows me to finally have a Gibson that is very close in build to a vintage J-50. Mine is super light and resonant. I just love the damn thing so much! Thank you Gibson for building such a fine instrument.

    Gibson was and is a company. It was competing with Martin, Washburn etc. It evolved due to other innovations happening in the guitar/mandolin world at the time. Adapt or die as they say. Having said that I love Gibson guitars especially the new Historic models with the thermally aged tops and lighter lacquer. Wonderful builds. Got one and it’s a beautiful thing.

    Uh - don’t get me wrong...I love the majority of vintage as well as modern Gibsons, but to act as if Orville was a major contributor to anything but the beginning stages of the company is just a flat out lie. He primarily made mandolins...He never made a flat top guitar. His idea was to create the arch top, like a violin. And he was a mad scientist doing this, as his methodology was not really based on anything previously done, but it seemed to work out okay. Lloyd Loar was the person who really dialed in the archtop for Gibson around 1919.
    Gibson did not make a flat top steel string acoustic until 1926, with the L-0and L-1 models.
    If you want to credit innovation of the flat top guitar design in the US, you should be praising Martin, who had been producing and tweaking them them for over 100 years previous to Gibson.

    I’m still upset my 2017 les paul classic has fret rock and still haven’t been able to play it since the first time I had one of there certified ticks in Long Island take money for repair but still doesn’t play right. Ta a shame , it’s a beautiful guitar. It’s brand new never played . $2000 and that what I got.

    • @OscarGuitare
      @OscarGuitare Рік тому

      Gibson and most made in US guitars have strict quality control. That is very unlucky heck even Epiphone guitars never have fret issues. Yours has a lifelong guarantee even for a used 2017 lp
