Hi Jack. Rex here from South Africa. I'm having the same Issue. I have an '07 IS250. Gear sometimes get stuck on 4th and wont go to 5 and 6. When i removed the negative terminal on the battery and put it back say 10seconds later its now able to go onto 5th and 6th gear. Could the PCM be the issue?
I have P0500, i have checked the vss sensors, the gearbox (physical check), checked the solenoids, serviced the gearbox too.. I'm currently checking the wiring but have no access to wiring diagrams. I'm no mechanic and i have tried so many different technicians to check the car and it has always been a waste of money. Most of the troubleshooting I've done on my own. I'm troubleshooting the wiring without any diagrams which is difficult. I'll be testing the TCM and instrument cluster this weekend. This problem is quite frustrating. Edit: How do i tell whether its the TCM or ECU that needs to be worked on?

thanks for the video, Can I ask I have a 2007 awd and have been told I need a new transmissions because the link from the shifter to the transmission has broken something inside of it. It seems odd that the whole tranny has to be replaced. Do you have an opinion?

I have a 2006 gs300 and I had the solenoid slt stuck. I purchased the complete refurbished solenoids off ebay replaced them. The code went away, but it will sometimes shift correctly or when going near 40 mph not shift and go up to 3000 rpm. I'm thinking of getting the ecm fixed or replaced.
I have a 2006 is250 with code p2757. I changed out the SLU Solenoid, SLT Solenoid, and SL1 Solenoid,Trans filter, and did a fluid flush. Code went away but came back after going about a mile or 2, no driving issues after repair. Should I contact your guys for ECM update?
Man every Lexus have its own ding mind lol, I just did everything you say last week with all new OEM legitimate Japan parts fresh of the boat because it was a lot cheaper but worth the shipping time wait but then the CEL went away now im having issues where Driving mode just up a little incline and it will slip to like neutral mode unless press on the gas pedal. Beside that the whole driving is normal. I have to switch it because CEL came on and need to be smog. It was driving fine in the first place.

I found a shop to fix my leak and went to turn the car on to load the car onto a trailer and it wouldnt go into any gear, we had to push the car onto the trailer. My transmission got fully serviced new seals, new filter, new gaskets, and new fluid, but the car still doesnt go into gear. Is it possible that this is a ECU issue?

I have the same lexus model and i have 2 very big issues, The first one is my lexus automatically loses horn,lights control, indicator, head lights and steering wheel adjusting button. The second one is my car some time does this problem where my car won’t run when i throttle until the rpm reaches 3 and it kicks very badly(like it just got in gear) and while driving it automatically brakes really hard for 1-2 seconds, tires screeching kind of braking. Please i need help no one can help me solve this issue. We have done computer tests but it doesn’t show any errors, just some normal ones. I will appreciate the response.

You can, if you want to spend more money than necessary. I forgot how much a new PCM costs but it’s over $1000 plus programming. It’s better to get it repaired by Josh.

Idk I kind of like this idea but I almost feel like this is cheating the real issue. Like my cousin told me if there's a CEL fix the problem don't bypass it cause you just going to run into bigger issues in the future. I wasn't going to fix mine cause mine was still driving fine but then I need it smog. So I replaced 2 solenoid for code p2757 everything brand new OEM fresh off Japan cause it was a lot cheaper, worth the waiting time. Yes CEL did went away but now having locking gears issue driving up incline. Yes everything the correct OEM Toyota/Lexus parts n correctly fluid type because people say there also 2 type of transmission fluid type also for transmission without a dip stick and for transmission with a dip stick. All new bolts, filter n gasket. Top off fluid and even level fluid.

My 2007 Camry (V6) had a the same problem and the dealer just updated the software and problem fixed. I see RX350 have the same issues.

Hi Rex! Yes, very likely the PCM is the issue. Of course, I can’t know for sure without seeing your vehicle, but I would say it’s very likely.

it's normal for this gen of lexus is... the cam shaft is loud, definitely doesn't sound good but they all do it.

I got an 06 Lexus GS300 and it downshifts hard as hell into 1st gear

Does your drive gear having locking issues on the incline only?

I have P0761 not shifting past 3rd gear replaced all solenoids nothing changed. Fluid was nearly black normal clutch carbon on magnets

Hard to say. I’d probably get a second opinion from a reputable transmission shop. Find someone who’s experienced with Toyota/Lexus transmissions.
It has a bad cam phaser. Seems to rattle on start.

It definitely could be, but it could also be a mechanical problem too. I’d recommend getting it diagnosed by a competent shop.

It won’t do any damage in the short term, but I would plan on fixing it as soon as you can. I don’t know if it would do any damage long term.

P0101 can affect engine performance and transmission shifting but it’s not exactly the same issue as I showed in the video.

Sounds to me like the transmission needs a rebuild. But I would get it diagnosed by a reputable shop just to be sure.
