I used an online calculator to compare my old rims plus tire size and reverse engineered a match to wider rims.. My 18x7.5 with 225/45 looks the same with 18.x8.5 with 255/40
I took 3 months of looking checking, price comparing, reviews reading, etc etc before I ordered a tire wheel set for my Camaro. It was all worth it. I love how they look and I get a lot of compliments on it.
Here's the thing. It is impossible to tell if low profile tires are low on air or even flat. Especially at night. For less than $50 I have screw-on caps. They have accurate temperature and pressure sensor valve caps. They transmit real time info to a solar-powered head unit. NO WIRES or internal sensors!!! You can even rotate your tires...just keep the valve caps in the same place. Batteries in valve caps last a couple years and are user-replaceable. All sorts of customizable alarms can be set by the user. Amazon baby!
Pro mother-humping tip! Not every 275/40/17 are all the same as far as how the tire sits on the rim lip. Some tires sit inside the lip and some sit a little outside. Found this out the hard way...
I put my stock 245/35 on my 19x10.5 wheels because they only had 2k miles on them and it was a real pain in the ass finding a shop willing to do it for less than $300. Most Shops hate stretching tires... at least here on Maui
My mistake was running Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval AS on an 09 Impreza. It didn't take long for those tires to sound like truck tires. The ride was ok, it lacked in the water traction department but they did last a good bit.
Measure twice, cut once. It's 2019, there are so many forums, and websites, that have pictures & build threads. You should only blame yourself if you buy tires, and they aren't what you thought they would be. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
I've only ever bought new tires in pairs for the front and then proceeded to buy every used tire for the rears cuz all I ever did was burn tires street drifting lol. I actually purchased my first brand new set of r888 tires for my Stagea last year and I turned 35 this year 😂🤣😂

biggest mistake I made when buying tires was not researching and buy ONE tire when I needed 5 but didn't have the money and the tires were Discontinued
Its good info to have when shopping for what you're looking for vs what they and yourself have available.. Me personally, doesn't affect everyone but for Tires: same price as my local tire shop and around the net prices. As for wheels, sadly you carry only Viper sizes for the 6x114.3 and thats only in Forgedstar brand and I'm not planning on hub swapping or buying bolt pattern kits..

MAZDA 3 BL (2010) toyo proxes R32 205/50/R17 Hard tyre, about 100k km (wear to 2.5 mm) Continental Conti sport contact 5 205/50 R17 Decent tyre , begins to show cracs after 4 years, about 60k km (wear to 2.4mm) Hankook ventus prime 3 new tyre, about 650km, very surprised , good grip very goed at wet weather, traction control does not intervene a lot. WINTER: Bridgstone blizzac bm30, 205/55 R16, 65k km rubbish ! cracs very fast, rubber becomes hard.
Have a question: My car has 205/45/R17 88V rated tire(same size as originals). The tire pressure sticker on the car, shows 39 PSI front and rear. I don't have the original tire brand on the car but have Hankook Ventus v2 Concept2 with the above tire size. 1) The issue is that in the wet, when I take off from red light, traction control lights comes up as tires start to lose traction. I am not aggressive at all, just regular take off. 2) Turning left at speed of around 20 MPH will make the car skid a bit. The tread life is about 50% on all 4 tires. 4 wheel Alignment was done few months ago. What could be the issue? Too much pressure, too little or just bad tire brand? Thanks!
I been buying used tires for a while, and I have to buy new ones like every 6-8mths. Sick of that. So I'm looking to buy new tires. Can I get away with buying 2 now, and 2 later or should I just bite the bullet and buy 4? Should I go Michelin? It is really really pricey. I need to find specials. I'm such a rookie when it comes to this.
When purchasing new tires, what is the absolute oldest date on those "new" tires one should accept? I've heard any tire one year old or newer is acceptable. Is this correct?
I have a 2015 Mini Cooper F55 and I have 17 x 7.5 wheels on the car and run 205/45/17...I saw someone on the gallery that ran a 215/45/17 the local shop said they thought it was too wide..but looks like it would work. Is there a way to find that out?
I tell you what. When i'm ready to buy my new wheels and tires how about you select my fitment!! I have a 2018 ecoboost mustang! So please help! I want some 7 or 10 spoke wheels :) i don't know much either
ima save up money and buy wheels from u once i save up for a car tho once i first get a job but before that i gotta turn 16 to work at a decent pay job. Yeah
Does treadware determine how sticky the tire is? I know it determines life expectancy and its determined different by manufacturers, but does less of a number usually mean more grip?
An engineering explained video is about Michelins keeping their traction longer. I prefer Pirellis, after studying the April issue of Consumer Reports magazine at a library every year. The P4s are good for the longest tread life, and the Scorpion Verde is better for a quiet ride and more traction, maybe lasting 70,000 miles. See the new Mazda tire sizes- any thinner for height and a pothole is more likely to damage the tire or rim. Consumer Reports recommends a General brand tire for a tight budget- stay away from total crap cheap tires that might kill you.
I got great tires for my car that were cheap the thing is do your research first just because there cheap dosnt mean there crap get the right tires of course don’t just get the first cheap thing you see do the research first

Changing your tires does not affect your alignment. You need to balance so the tire sits evenly but it doesn't affect your alignment
My “TPMS” light is on and I ain’t worried about it. That’s the only light on my dash and I’m happy about it💪🏾😂
Just check your pressures fairly frequently, especially if you have stretched tires. They tend to need a higher psi as well so you dont de-bead
