Yeaaahh that car he showed when talking about stance nation was hideous. I like how it's a video essentially about how tires are what matter most when doing this process, but also shows lots of vehicles with camber some of which were absolute trashy looking with the wheels bent or so far you'll blow through those tires in no time.
I bought my first set of after-market rims in 1991 for my then new 1990 Dodge Shadow. The rims were from American Racing & were about 700 bucks. One hundred dollar (which was a lot then) tires all around for just over 1200 out the door. The next year I got some Yokohama's which is the best tire brand I have ever owned. This industry has come a long, long way in the past 28 years.

This helped so much! I owned a 2017 VW Golf Sportwagen with 15x6 ET 46 wheels wirh 195 65 15 tires and wanted to run a more aggressive 15x6.5 ET 43 set of wheels with the same size tires. Now Slighly stretched. I loved the look. That was nice! After seeing this video and many similar videos, I went all out with a totally aggressive 15x7 ET 40 setup with super wide low profile 205 60 15 tires. They fit without any fender rolling nor inner trim.
Plus the offset number is the same because it measures from the center of the wheel either in or out. So what needs to be taken into account is your wheel width
Also should mention that while good fitment is great for the aesthetic, it's absolutely crucial for performance. If you take a sports car for example; the manufacturer normally designs every aspect around performance, wheelbase, size, design, orientation of the engine, and even wheel size and offset! If you go get some wheel that just fits and you like the looks, you might be ruining the handling of your vehicle! So if you value keeping your car on the track but want your wheels to look good, talk to the professionals about fitment! You might even be able to improve handling!
245/45R20 for a 4,100 lbs sporty Honda "Wagon" (AT FWD/4WD). Zero problems with crappy NYC roads. 245/45 = 110 mm side wall, I think 240/40 = 98 mm side wall is about as low profile as you'd want to go in areas with bad roads. I personally wouldn't run that low in NYC or anywhere else in the North East.
Thank you so much for this quality video. I'm currently educating myself to wheel knowledge so I can purchase my first set of tires. A video like this is something a noob like me needs
I just got my first set of wheels and tires from you guys a couple of weeks ago. I ended up needing to get 8mil spacers and extended thread lug nuts because they hit my front calipers by like 4 millimeters lol getting it wrong the first time does suck...Trust me
Very informative video! Was hoping I could get some more detail on increased suspension/steering wear on more aggressive offsets. A lot of people don't really know that flush or near flush doesn't mean good fitment either. I appreciate that you recommend going more conservative for your first set but wish to elaborate on the pros and cons.
Another tip. Try to use paper of cardboard to figure out what could fit. It is a bit like guessing, but in our case then at least we knew what was THE maximum we could go with the OEM offset and where we could go with a different offset. From there on we searched and searched more to find THE best fitting wheels and tires. I tried this on my recent first car. And we went from a 145/x/r13(x is not displayed) ET0 (offset 0mm) to a 165/55/r15 ET35, and they look amazing! The wheels and tires were not a massive purchase. Since I am a newbie driver we decided to go with steelies and some nice sticky rubber. Thanks Fitment Inc. !!

Danm that was informative. You should have made the vid longer imo. We all need to be reminded every once in a while about what really is important newbie or not. First set of aftermarket rims and tires i bought were BBS SR in machined alloy with matte black accents with Pirelli Corsa System Direzionales on them. 235/35R19
Great video. However note that some cars will give you issues with changing the tire profile as making the entire wheel smaller or bigger can cause modern cars to freak out and cause issues with ABS and things like that, I’m no expert, just saying as I have been made aware of this issue by another expert when i was looking to buy a set of wheels and tires for my 2007 Mazda miata. good luck everyone
My OEM integra wheels were 195/60/R14 I bought new wheels and tires with dimensions 195/60/R15 and they fit they like a glove. Only thing that changed was the rim size that’s it. I was playing it safe but now that I think of it I could’ve put 205s on cause 195 is pretty skinny.
wrong. the circumference increased; 195/55/15 would be correct, you could do 205/50/15 and it would also closely match oem circumference. with you current tires, your speedometer is off by over 4%; so when guage reads 60, you are going about 63.
Kuro Murasaki I actually did not know that. I knew it would affect my speed but I didn’t think it would throw my speedometer off. I really wanted to get 55 but I stuck with 60 cause the roads in ohio have lots of potholes and I wanted a little more meat on the tire to absorb the bumps.
I have a mustang 2012 and I bought 20×10 AMR and the riding quality been so good and I been having 21 miles MPG BEFORE and now It's 18 MPG yes I love how they looks like but I get made when I see how bad is riding quality being right now, 18 or 19 inches wheels are the best wheel I had experience with in my old 2007 Mustang GT
Lmao...I just reached out to you guys about my 2 dr Blazer & boom!...you upload this video. I almost feel as if my newbie line of questions prompted this vid. Trying to find wheels is STILL a pain in the a$$. I'm not a big fan of most of the wheels that fit my truck. I guess I'll need some more education to find the exact look I want to achieve. I have a vision of what I want but trying to convey that to the pros is the difficult part. Have you ever seen a Blazer with a V8, possibly custom over fenders & concave, tuner style wheels? I doubt it but you just might. 😉
Any suggestions of wheel / rim brands for a honda civic? This is my first car aswell as my first time purchasing wheels, im not tryna spend too much money, any brands that wont break the buck?

I'm in a 9th gen accord page and got a relatively good idea of what wheels would fit. I didn't actually have to do that much research. Then again I haven't got my wheels yet either. I only order them yesterday though
@Mugshot Marley and @IS300 EV are right, we'll definitely get this fixed for you man! Shoot us an email at wheels@fitmentindustries.com and we'll get it fixed stat.
Really great advice Alex. But I cannot agree with the term, aftermarket tires. You are referring to O.E. tires, not aftermarket tires. Good work and I'll keep watching your videos until I have decided to switch wheels on the E91.
i grew up in stock car racing, and that includes 4 banger fwd cars, so i'm buying aero steel circle track wheels because they're cheap, i like the look, they're wide but will fit on a stock body, and most importantly, I HAVE SEEN THEM RUN FOR F###ING EVER I KNOW THEY'RE GOOD
I always thought thin rims (not talking tire profile) a more wire frame because there is less weight to turn. I also thought thicker tires at the front were better for the front tires and bigger at the back for rear wheels but I don't understand what is better.

why buy high end tires when only the sidewall is in contact with the ground
soundlesspeal most people want grip and don't run stupid amounts of camber.
Simon G =most people are boring
soundlesspeal getting the power to the ground > playing in the parking lot
Simon G why would you buy expensive tires just to waste it on skids

Another class vid keep it up
Thank you! :D
Fitment Industries gotta show the support
I have a mustang 2012 and I bought 20×10 AMR and the riding quality been so good and I been having 21 miles MPG BEFORE and now It's 18 MPG yes I love how they looks like but I get made when I see how bad is riding quality being right now, 18 or 19 inches wheels are the best wheel I had experience with in my old 2007 Mustang GT
Thx for this video, i was honestly about to be that guy who guessed
Offset is more importanter than skoool 😂 haha
This channel is a god send
Any suggestions of wheel / rim brands for a honda civic? This is my first car aswell as my first time purchasing wheels, im not tryna spend too much money, any brands that wont break the buck?
There are TONS out there brother! What I would recommend is going on out gallery and find what other people have on there Civic's to see what you think looks best! 👍bit.ly/2Ma4oca
Great video. Definitely helpful I’m going to go for some Konig wheels soon with Indy hawk 500 tires
Dam that BMW was filthy! They should be ashamed of themselves 😲
Yeah im stuck with needing spacers. For a 300c because my offset is to close to rub but it has room to be pushed out
Shoot us a email at shop@fitmentindustries.com and lets see if we can hook you up!
Luckly my stock tires are 225/40 18 PS4S, soooo....im good lmao
I'm in a 9th gen accord page and got a relatively good idea of what wheels would fit. I didn't actually have to do that much research. Then again I haven't got my wheels yet either. I only order them yesterday though
You guys really recommended a lug nut kit for my wheels/car and they weren’t even the right lugs when I opened the package lol 45 bucks down the drain
Michael Randall if you got it from them email them. Than they will email you a return label and return your money as well.
Mistakes happen. Im sure theyd be more than happy to correct your problem ASAP
@Mugshot Marley and @IS300 EV are right, we'll definitely get this fixed for you man! Shoot us an email at wheels@fitmentindustries.com and we'll get it fixed stat.
GTI and lug nuts? Or do you mean wheel bolts?
Really great advice Alex. But I cannot agree with the term, aftermarket tires. You are referring to O.E. tires, not aftermarket tires. Good work and I'll keep watching your videos until I have decided to switch wheels on the E91.
buying used wheels
235/40R17 on Front
235/55R17 on Rear
Pull rear fender a bit and fit pretty good
Me; just wanting to have a second set to put my winter tires on: "WTF is going on here."
Geee!!😍😍 Those 4 wheels by your head look amazing
i bet u my right kidney he wouldnt give this a heart :)))
__ MOJO__ I'm here for your kidney. You tryna take that out for me? Or are we breaking out the anasthesia

Fitment Industries ooooooooHHHHHHHH SHIIIT
Gottem
HOLY FU.
So appreciative of this video I’m about to buy my first rims and I’m so confused this helps so much
Cheap tires cause we gonna drift anyways
i grew up in stock car racing, and that includes 4 banger fwd cars, so i'm buying aero steel circle track wheels because they're cheap, i like the look, they're wide but will fit on a stock body, and most importantly, I HAVE SEEN THEM RUN FOR F###ING EVER I KNOW THEY'RE GOOD
Jacob Sweat can you help me find some to fit my 08 eclipse?
When you combine Nerds and Cars, they become Fitment Ind.
Fitment Ind** Homie!
I always thought thin rims (not talking tire profile) a more wire frame because there is less weight to turn. I also thought thicker tires at the front were better for the front tires and bigger at the back for rear wheels but I don't understand what is better.
Never buy cheap rubbers👨👩👧👧
💀😂
2:06 what wheels are those ive been trying to find wheels with that thin spoke type of look to show more of the disk and calipers
A little bit of a condescending tone to this video. Try not to act like we're all wasting your time in having to explain all this to people.
