Good day to you. I am a senior rider on HONDA from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice video! Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have a nice day my friend!!
Nice and simple....doesn't get any better than that 👍. Have been dying to get a Trangia storm cooker for some time and finally bit the bullet about 2 weeks ago ordering a 25-7 UL from the UK as they're a bit difficult to source out here in Malaysia. Unfortunately it's caught up in the current UK mail strike so I'm still awaiting delivery ; usually the kit I order from the UK is here within 5-7 days. No worries, all good things are worth waiting for and I've still got my trusty Firebox Stove and Petromax Feuerkan to take care of the cooking and drinking in the meantime. Love the video and look forward to catching up with the backlog. Have subbed as well. ATVB from a Brit expat now retired in a sunny but very wet Malaysia - it's our rainy season out here right now 🌪
Great video, great to see an old Trangia in such good condition and the pine needle tea is tops in such a lovely spot! Thanks for sharing and best wishes🙂...
Looked absolutely delicious, lovely little backstory to the kit too, this video just popped up on my feed so looking forward to more, have subscribed 👍🏻
The moment of epiphany! 😆 I've had my Trangia stove for a decade and just realised what that sliding lid is for. "Controlling the flame". - f****k ! 🤣 Gee I like your optional extras like the collapsible silicone cup it's a very interesting and practical cup. 🤔
Nice oldie and better made than the modern ones. I have a 27 from the mid 80s and it has the ordinary aluminium frying pan but I was surprised to find that my MSR Alpine stainless steel pan fits the stove perfectly. Worth noting if you are a stainless steel fan. I also prefer the lift off windshield over the current bayonet fit ones. It is a lot easier to lift that off using the grab handle in order to snuff out the burner.
I have the Trangia 25, from the early 80's, still going strong. I've added the non stick frying pan, the cutting board/strainer. And the little rack that fits inside, so you can use other pots and pans. So simple and easy to use. Are you in a planted Forrest? Not much ground clutter, or under growth.
Did you know that preheating your skillet (including your oil) to a high temperature then add your simmering ring to reduce the temperature will make cooking most foods almost nonstick? Yep, even in the all aluminum pans. Works great when frying eggs or items that normally stick. Love my Trangia 27T STORMCOOKER and 28T Mini.
Lovely video. Thank you. I love my Trangia 27 so far. Haven't cooked a whole lot yet, but I did pierogis yesterday (and posted a video) and they turned out just wonderful. Have you ever tried doing pierogis? The Trangia is the perfect cook set for them in my estimation. Cheers!
I really liked this video. Very informative and enjoyed the history of your Trangia, it looks newer than mine haha. Great video and I'm looking forward to more. What are you using to record audio? Background noise sounds strange.
@@wildernesslifecraft8180 Thanks I will pick one up. A good spatula for a Trangia is the big flat spoon that comes with the electric rice cookers. Grind a flat on the front.
Unfortunately yes, the aluminium original pans stick. There are anodised and non stick newer pans available but I wanted to show the vintage one in use.
It's clearly managed woodland. This is a relatively small country with limited access to true wilderness. The term 'ancient woodland' is determined by the naturally occurring ecosystems and species it contains which take a certain number of centuries to stabilise.

Hello, Happy travels!
Impressive that you still have the utinsil set from your youth. Thank you for the content as well
Amazing. This stove looks better than most of the flimsy-looking stoves today.
They are amazing pieces of kit and will stand the test of time.
@@wildernesslifecraft8180 That’s great!
My trangia 27 has been used for 40 years, very good stove cockset. Love it,.
40 years. That's amazing.
@@wildernesslifecraft8180 Yes, I bought it in 1982 when I first joined the Outward Bound School for the 7 days mountain course.

Ah yes the postal service strikes are causing havoc back home too.
I'm waiting on a Trangia 28 to be delivered.
Thanks for the sub.
Excellent day out and would love to see anything Trangia😊

Pine needle tea is a must in the woods.
Thanks for watching.
i love the Trangia. Lots of cool third party accessories these days too.
They are just amazing pieces of kit.
Thanks for watching.
Trangia, not okay in Cali, but great system. Have used both 70 and 91 alcohol. 👍👍
Looked absolutely delicious, lovely little backstory to the kit too, this video just popped up on my feed so looking forward to more, have subscribed 👍🏻
Thank you for the sub :)
I bought my first Trangia in 1978, no idea of the number. I gave it to a friend who immigrated to Canada and he's still using it 46 years later.
The moment of epiphany! 😆 I've had my Trangia stove for a decade and just realised what that sliding lid is for.
"Controlling the flame". - f****k ! 🤣

Those cups are great and cheap too.

That's a good point about the lift off versus the bayonet version.

The rack I still have to add. Its a high up forest and managed so thin on the ground.
Great piece of kit 👍🐿️
They are just brilliant.

I didn't know what they were and just googled them. They look delicious.
Very nice video and channel. Beautiful area. Nice forest. New follower here. Crow✌️
Thank you and thanks for the sub.
Wow for vintage worked out great least know it will last 👍
Thanks. They certainly stand the test of time.

Thank you. I'm using the DJI Osmo Action.
I’ve got the same scout set of utensils
Ich mag Titan 👍

thanks alot for sharing
Thank you Sam.
Great video. What cup is that with the feet on it?
It's a silicon folding cup. They pack flat.

Is the food sticking to the pan? long time to clean?

Your ancient woodland looks like a tree farm.

The entire video I’m wondering why that last piece of mushroom just sits there. Seriously? It took him that long to notice? 🤦♂️
A+
Thank you.
Are you sure that’s not a Trangia 25? Looks too big to be a 27 like mine.
I also was questioning the size. My T27 STORMCOOKER set looks much smaller, especially the windshield and top pot screen.
Looks big for a 27 🤔
None of these videos show you how they wash up a load of shitty pans in the middle of nowhere!!!
Plenty of great hacks for that. The ancient plant horsetail, for example, is fairly abrasive and makes for a wonderful bushcraft scourer
