Here we do a complete rebuild of a JDM D16zc SOHC Vtec engine with some tweaks such as portwork and ofcourse the much needed ARP rod bolts.

whattup boss new subscriber here only 14 in the process of building a d16y7..already replaced headgasket, timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, distributor, starter & ported the head but now no crank no start no power. Battery is new and new alternator? Help please 🙏

I have the same block what you think of putting a light vms crank pulley for a turbo setup?
Well aftermarket pulleys don’t have a damping effect unlike the oem zc / z6 pulley with the rubber insert…
I already got the crankshaft balanced with the light pulley. Should I just slap the oem pulley back on?
then it’s okay to use the VMs cuz it’s balanced together…still no damper though but I guess it’s okay
Hello sir Ralph, if the bores are honed do I need to change to larger piston size?, or do I really need to hone the bores if Im going to change new piston rings. Also what are the honing specs? Thankyou for the response
Honing doesn’t really enlarge much just refinish the bore texture so it’s fine unless the bore is oval then u need to go oversized pistons…

So your using the d16z6 pistons in the zc..block with z6 head. ???
Well the d16zc 92-95 has a vtec version from Japan that has a p08 head so that’s essentially a d16z6
there is also a d16zc from japan with a pm3 head which is essentially a d16a6 but obd1
so I’m using the zc pistons that came in the d16zc block that’s p28
I have sohc d16zc non VTEC. I have a z6 head . Will I run into any issues. ..thanks for the info.( 95 civic )
@@Jpower32 I think the only issue possible is if u mill the head too much and advance the camgear…
That’s quite like a d16a6 block + z6 head mini-me should be quite alright and slightly more comp due to the pm6 pistons

No sure but it’s a d16zc that comes with a p08 head as stock
Is d16y8 same torque spec rod bolt if i use arp?
Just follow arp numbers

@@garrychu6499 no different rocker arm system sha plus a lot saten cam ng cam when the rest isn’t even fully maximized…
I built a stock cam stock non 20camlobes vti and pAntay sha sa siR so why 20camlobes? Why regrind if kulang kulang naman? It won’t solve an incomplete set up
