Glad to see some b series action I bought an integra and it came with a b20 I recently took the whole interior out and cleaned it the vehicle looks new from the inside I bought all the gaskets cause the vehicle was leaking oil from almost every where and recently did my clutch also with rear main seal can’t wait to get some ideas off of the videos you’ll do
Been following for a very long time and love all the content, it's helped with a lot on my car when I first got into it, you should do a video one day of all the steps and things you do on the b series head and blocks before you send them off to a machine shop. Like things we need to know before hand or to present to the machine shop and things to look forward to. Things to bring and or your experiences with them, it'd help a lot with people like us who are thinking about having a machine shop do our honing and or polishing on cranks so we don't feel like dummies bringing in parts or missing parts, thanks if you make one of these videos !
I remember meeting you the first time at a car meet in bell Gardens, and now I’m watching your video , I’m a first time b20b car builder and I don’t have any knowledge of it but I’m learning on my own, I ask my friends for help and nobody picking up my phone call anymore and I guess haha but anyways, love the video and hoping you make more rebuild motor videos brother
Your content is really helping me get through my civic ej1 getting stolen and is giving me motivation to get back into the honda game and hopefully find another one. Keep it up static💯
@@ShizzSup fuck man that sucks. Mine still hasnt turned up so its parts now but i got a clean 94 civic eg8 for 1300 that im looking to swap a b18b1 into
Thank you so much appreciate that so when it comes down to getting my hatchback I can kind of know what to do. I love your videos man thank you thank you❤❤❤
IS THAT SOME AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL ON THE PISTONS IS THAT TO CHECK IF YOU GOT GREAT COVERAGE AND IF THE COMPRESSION IS GOOD AND SEE IF IT BUBBLES UP OR LEAKS DO TO THE OIL PAN AREA ?? GREAT TIME·LAPS THANKS DANA ✌🏼OUT
Hello boss young static, please reply on this message. Because i will do the same thing on my b20z going in my dc4. Anyway, i saw you tighten up the crank and rod bolts TWICE, you did some inspection after tightening it for the first time? Is it necessary to do that? Did you measure something? It was time lapse and i tried to catch up. Please clarify that for me, thank you!
Dana, i have a 96 sedan civic, is a b swap the best bang for my buck? love the single jingle, but just the tools from work slow me down. if anyone knows, it's you man
Depends what your looking for. Depending, bang for the buck could be b20, b18 or k24's from accords, elements, crv's. You can get a non performance k24 for under $1000 at most importers. Can get a wrecked 1997-2001 crv for under $1000 as well which has alot you need but then need a trans as b20 trans won't work. B18' s are getting harder but you can find them usually just a gamble unless you know the seller. Even Integra's that are buckets with a motor hold some value. Hope that's helps some.
Im here in Florida I recently helped by Brother in law build a b20z and swap it in his sons 96 civic ex as his son just turned 16. New bearing, rings ect.. stock rods and pistons, arp head studs and rod bolts, ebay intake and header with flywheel and clutch. We got a deal for a set of Brian cower BC0022 and a set of matching valve springs on facebook for $300. We had it dynoed on a mustang dyno 176 whp @ 7400rpm. My nephew best 1/4 is 14.2 @101. for a 16 year old its fast. Could I ask any of you honda guys whats a good transmission instead of 96 civic ex manual ?

As I’m reading this my crv was stolen 2 days ago and I got it back but the motor was blown
But I’m about to rebuild it and that’s why I’m here
Damn sorry to hear from both of you, everything happens for a reason is how I like to think

Bro I love all the engine rebuild videos
Love to see what you can diagnose on the k24 on the next video when you have time
Needs to rebuild the bottom end ; has low oil pressure = no vtec
Just got a 1st get crv and am very tempted to get a spare motor to build and do this to
Love the buildt dana. ✌🏻🇳🇱
Awesome video brother.
Static were those cracks on the block underneath the main bearings.
Whats the lube you put on after your done checking clearances? Wondering if assembly lube will work too?
Thats a cool way to see if there any leaks with the pistons. You can eliminate a lot if its burning oil after.
What did he pour in the cylinders? ATF?
@@cbdreamer1709 yes, it keeps things from rusting while it’s open as well.
@@cbdreamer1709 yes sir
I want to see a project with the darton sleeves block back in the day that was way to go
Let’s go 👍🏽
How many miles was on the engine
Did you bore the block
Did you turn the crank or just polish it
Did you replace or just clean the cams
Thank you
Where did you find all the torque specs and piston ring gap specs?? I’m having a hard time 🙏🙏🙏
i like b20 bottom block it have alot torque

If your carrying weight like tools your better with a k24 in my opinion due to the extra torque.
Silly question here ☝🏽 what was that red fluid you poured into each cylinder ?
*currently rebuilding a B20 cylinder f my own* 📝🤓
Atf trans fluid
Hi bro i hope you answer my little question .just wanna know what is the different b20z2 compare b20z1 i heard much better ang strong b20z2
What parts kit did you use ? Link?
Do you have to drill a new oil line somewhere for it to work
Nice video @youngstatic ! Which engine would you choose and why: a B20B or a F20A4 (SOHC) ?
I'm not sure why the red fluid on the pistons whole?
Are U going to use a type R oil pump?
How many crank pulley key´s does this engine has?
why atf on the pistons?
Damn in engine down there junkyards so expensive up here its only 100 bucks
I got b20z2 on my integra 1995 and puff a lot of smoke. What can be?

LS 5spd from a Gen 2 Integra.
B16 or GSR would be longer geared heck even a LS would be just as good
