Didnt think it would sound almost identical to a 4a-ge. Sounds awesome and looks amazing man. Seriously a huge inspiration. I have an 86 trueno coupé and I’ve been wanting to work on it so bad the past year and your vids of your cars have made me wanna do it even more. Keep up the content. Love what you do bro 😎
Really clean engine bay! I love it! Also noticed you relocated your coolant overflow tank, and I've been thinking of doing the same for mine. Where did you relocate it? Was there any specific kit that you used or was it all custom?
Ven N it’s right behind the radiator on the left side. I used a bracket I cobbled together. The overflow itself is just a universal cylindrical one. It works good though
Sounds incredible! I'm looking to do the same over the coming weekends. Already have all parts on hand, and have read the clubroasters thread about half a dozen times. Any tips not outlined there? How did you manage the throttle cable issue? How about creating a base map? Keep making these videos! Everyone loves ITB noises!
Ben Rosenberg I used the stock throttle cable, and factory bracket but cut it in half. Also the stock throttle cable doesn’t allow enough travel to fully open the itbs, so I had to bend the pedal slightly up and remove the bolt that stops the pedal travel.
@@NostalgiaHeroDriving Thank you for your response. That was about my understanding of that issue. The other main sticking point that I can't find an answer to is how are people generating base maps for these setups. Is it as simple as re scaling everything and guesstimating the VE requirements? Or is there some sort of spread sheet available? Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated, since this is my last question mark on the setup. Thanks again.
Ben Rosenberg I used the normal base map, then had to make all the adjustments from there. There is no guide for it as far as I can tell. You’ll need to make sure your throttle bodies are properly balanced with a balancing tool, mechanically. Then it was about 2 months or more of small adjustments here and there. I had never used megasquirt before so maybe it took me longer since I had a learning curve.
I've always loved your setup, I think it has to be among my favorite Miatas just because I'm a sucker for ITBs. Speaking of, when I'm done with stiffness mods and other odds and ends on my NA, I want to do something similar. Any ideas on the cheapest ITB set that isn't complete garbage? Most well put together stuff seems to be around the $2k mark.
prophet carason there really is no cheap set. 2k is actually on the low end I would say. You’ll still need to get a stand-alone ecu, a tune, wideband, itb adaptor plate, vacuum block, trumpets, it starts to add up. The cheapest route I’d say is the jenvey, you can probably get pretty close to 3k all said and done if you really were careful. Good luck!
@@NostalgiaHeroDriving Appreciate the reply man, thanks for the advice. I was thinking somewhere around 3-4k, but as always with car shit you should plan on spending way more.
Engine bay is crazy 👀 love the build car is very nice

I have something else coming up soon, Toyota related. Thanks man!
@@NostalgiaHeroDriving no problem. Can’t wait!

Jenvey itb kit or something else?? What other mods have you done?
They are 4age throttle bodies. I have another video detailing more of the build
@@NostalgiaHeroDriving cost for this kit? Thanks man!
you ever DD it? couldnt imagine not having floormats in mine
McCall been daily driving it for 5 years. It has floor mats, they are the “better than factory” ones that moss Miata makes
