Air only enters the intake on the left front above the bumper the right side is not open. However lots of people drill big holes in the closed section or totally cut it out for more airflow. Also I would suggest you replace the accordion pipe after the filter for better flow, I hear you can buy them for really cheap on Alibaba website. Then the money you saved from not buying an intake you can buy a Turbo Inlet pipe (if you dont already) for better airflow.
Netcruzer RC TECH CARS What coding do you have on the dashboard for tube, vehicle variant, etc. I don't have the small numbers between the main numbers.
A 0-100 measurement would be really nice , as you did some with stock air filter, it would be easy to see if there is an improvement. BTW: did you ever drive without the snow grid in a snow weather ? any down side ?
Awesome. Just changed to the same filter and removed the snow guard. I live on the Canadian prairies so we will see how it goes next winter. Are you happy with your Turbo inlet pipe? CTS correct?
Throttle pedal on VW is like a curve. Flatter initial then it ramps up. There are some coding you can do to make it more linear but it causes cruise control errors and non function.
@@netcruzer Thanks. Had a K&N oiled filter that needs to be cleaned. I put back on the paper filter and might go with aFe Dry soon. easier to clean and oil-free
I had a GTI manual, for the R I purposely chose DSG because it’s stronger and faster. The manual version clutch cannot handle anything beyond stock R power levels.
Cool upgrade,nice filter

I have a turbo in-line pipe. I might do the hood intake blocker plate to make it more ram air instead of a pass thru. Accordion tune maybe someday.
Thanks for the review. Am planning to get the same filter for 7R
Nice Video is that Part Number: 31-10254 thanks mate :) stay safe

Do you have to tune your Mk6 GTI after installing high flow drop in air filter with everything else stock
No
I thought that was your new virus mask! Joking aside be safe out there!
Keeps the corona outta my engine! Thanks for checking it out. Take care.
Thanks for the video

Stock filter I was 4.1s I think, now I’m at 3.8s but I also changed to a more powerful tune.
I drove all winter no snow screen, no problem.

Have you noticed an improved throttle response as such?

Thanks! Yea I know what you mean...have a 7.5r myself hence was wondering if there was any improvement with the initial response...
High flow = low filtration. I’d only use for track and not for a daily driver.
Any issues in winter with aFe drop in filter ?
How dirty was it after the winter ?
No issues at all, and I’ve not looked at it I’ve put less than 10K kms on the car since it was done.

Yes that’s the one.
@@netcruzer thanks for always supporting the viewers and giving your knowledge man it means alot 💯🧡
How would this filter compare to a K&N high flow?
Go watch the reviews their horrible for filtering
@@dylan-yr4yi both filters? Stick with the stock?
Dude, you need another pedal on that car….

Damn you used almost half a tank of gas and your range still says 520km... I’m at like 3/4-4/5 and my range is at 520km LOL
