If I do get a dock, I would probably go with the ivoler. I wish the other docks had the multi monitor support and also don't want the hassle of taking my case on and off, when traveling I'll probably get the anker dongle dock. Thank you for the overview of each one.
Tiny USB C to USB C extenders exist so they make the short usb connector on the official dock a non-issue. If you want to avoid docks because they don't fit your case, that's fine, but if your reason for avoiding one is due to the short connector, you can fix it. I use an official dock with a killswitch case and I never have to remove my case to use it and it works fine.
I have the official dock in my bedroom (where i play docked most) and use the jsaux metal dock stand that makes it feel more premium and fit cases (the jsaux case thats like the killswitch came with a rubber dock sleeve/case that would make it fit cases too but its ugly), then in the living room i have the jsaux 6-1 dock for when i occasionally wanna play on the biggest screen but my pc is right next to the living room so id usually opt to play there most times if ima be that close
The jsaux dock fits the case too, if the kickstand is on it has to be slightly offset but if you take it off itll fit perfectly but either way no real performance difference just appearance
I already have the valve and I'm sticking with it.
I think i'm probably going to go with the Anker and then 3d print my own "dock" to hold everything. At least for now

I bought one that after watching this vid, I realized is a clone of the Ivoler dock (but without the ethernet), and I have to say it's awesome. Plus, it has no branding on it, to ruin its appearance and it's half the price!
I always say the best to go with is with the Steam Deck Dock Station, Steam/Valve Specifically Does updates for the Steam OS which also has firmware & updates for the Steam Dock Station as well as for the others Don't !

I'm getting the official dock partly for the extra power adapter, but I want to get a dongle for travel too... And then I can just use the same dongle for my laptop as well, make it multipurpose.

I'd get one with an SSD In it for someone like me that loves a ton of storage the more storage the better I love gaming and want the most storage possible a handful of the games I have in mind for the steam deck takes up 500GB a piece

To nitpick: It's USB-A, not USB 3.1. USB 3.1 is a data transfer protocol. Not a connector type. USB-C is a connector and cable standard. USB-C can also be USB 3.1 since "USB-C" and "USB 3.1" refer to completely different things.
That power brick has a USB-A port, not a USB 3.1 port, since using a data transfer protocol to refer to a charging port makes no sense whatsoever.

I have one dumb question, is there any major difference between Jsaux dock 5n1 vs 6n1 ? (Apart from the only difference which is the extra port in 6n1)
6n1 vs 7n1 difference is the extra DP port and USB 3.2 support (instead of 3.0).
