I work outside and it was 25F this morning when this exact issue happened. watched the video and adjusted the valve. worked like a charm. YOU THE MAN!!!
Great video, watched my husband struggle for 20 minutes tying to get the forklift to turn on. Watched your video, went up to the forklift followed your instructions and BAM got it to turn on.
Charles, your comment was removed because it was too long and I didn't want to read it. Upload a video on your channel then you can write your book there. I deliver and repaired propane tanks for 5 years and never had a problem.
I'm not sure of the engine size but this is how they look - www.ebay.com/itm/CLEAN-2010-TOYOTA-3000-LB-LPG-PNEUMATIC-FORKLIFT-3-000-LB-8FGU15-AIR-TIRES/112278322571?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3D9ea12b0062d94b4491bade61b4fe74a6%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D112355550165
Few things. What your describing is called vapor lock. Your tank in video is not seated in tank holder correctly, so the two fuel tubes inside tank are not picking up fuel correctly. Best advice is run lift. Switch off fuel, let engine run out of fuel. Replace tank, connect. Seat tank correctly. Open fully. You forgot to mention LP expands when temperature changes also.
Thanks bdy helpful tip Toyota is very comun to happen this problem also the filter is in the hose is the pressure regulator get stuck and some propane tanks have little more pressure of others
BTW, I didn't install that tank. Yes it should be in the right position but it is not that critical because this lift is in side away from the sun. I must thank you because you just gave me a new I deal for a new video. I will give you credit for the new video. Now tell me 2 reasons the tank should be in the right position. Try not to write a book and don't give me a history lesson.
Forklift tanks can't be used with grills. They have a tube that go the bottom and pick up liquid propane. Grill propane tanks don't have that tube. The fuel evaporate out the top of the tank.
I made a special trip to a company on my way home. The lift would not start. The driver had dropped the full tank off with the valve wide open. The guy who filled our tanks at night. Left the valve open. When the customer install the full tank. He tried to open the tank but it was already open. He then used pliers to turn the valve and it would not turn. When I got there. I used the same pliers to close the valve and reopen it. The tank worked fine and the lift started.
I use to love when customers couldn't start the lift. They would always say they been driving for x-number years and then I come up and fix the line and start the lift.
5-years of delivering and training new drivers the wrong way if this is the info you're giving them. factory trained mechanic with 24-years of experience; OSHA authorized Trainer with 18-years of experience; Service Manager for the largest caterpillar forklift and yale forklift dealers in North America and; licensed propane operations supervisor - Texas Railroad Commission
your wrong stop giving info on things you know nothing about . The valve should be fully opened so if the hose is broke the excess flow valve will kick in and the stem on the valve may leak if not fully opened .
started to ignore this because of language but the valve Mervyn is referring to is the back pressure relief valve inside the tank. the valve you are talking about is the fuel valve. i won't even attempt to address the obvious question of why anyone would try to close the fuel valve if it catches fire...........you run AWAY FROM a fire...NEVER towards it unless you;re a trained fire fighter. if this is what you were taught to do then your Trainer should be fired. He's going to get someone killed.....the back pressure relief valve's only job is to stop propane from flowing if the supply line (lp hose) from the tank to the lp regulator breaks or gets damaged in a fire. in this case it does not matter since it cannot do its job because the lp tank was not mounted on the tank locator pin.........ijs
@@smoshle8025 the tank valve will stop the flow when it senses no back pressure. You should open valve slowly allowing line to fill then open fully. Open to fast may cause valve to close, then you have to reset it by closing then reopen. Also tank should be oriented in locater pin so pickup tube is drawing liquid from the tank.

I'm going to try looking into it. But I'm at the point of torching the bucket of crap

This is an example of a dangerous person who is wrong wrong wrong.
5 years of delivering and training new drivers say otherwise.

Did anyone figure out how to do it the right way?
Shit man thanks a million
wrong get retrained
What part of what i said was wrong?
Wrong! Wow! Dangerous.
What is wrong
your wrong stop giving info on things you know nothing about . The valve should be fully opened so if the hose is broke the excess flow valve will kick in and the stem on the valve may leak if not fully opened .
Bitch I delivered propane and repaired tanks for 5 years. If a valve did leak when it was turn on. I replaced that valve.

You telling someone they need trained when your the one whos wrong lmao
I was also trained to only crack the valve the tiniest bit. Everything he says in this video makes sense and was taught to me
