  • Let's finish up this forklift project! We tackle the vaporizer, lock off, and carburetor diaphragms and do a little tuning. We also break down the cost of the repairs and have a little chat about the channel.
I'm trying a new video editor, so things may be a little more wrong than usual!

Wes, I like your content a lot. You are a combination of How I Do It and How To Do It. The guys that put out more frequent videos have someone else doing the editing, don"t do much editing or do simpler stuff that can be done on a more of less continuous basis. If you build a workbench from a pile of lumber there's no waiting for parts. I recall a comment from a YTer a couple years ago that his excellent 6 minute video took 6 hours to edit, not to mention the several hours it took just to shoot and do the work. We watchers need to recall that every time a camera shot changes, some element of the work stopped and the camera was repositioned, probably angle checked etc. It's a LOT of work. And your subscribers, I am sure, sincerely appreciate it. Thanks for all your efforts!

Loving the videos, fantastic work. Don't worry about the timeframe. TBH the main reason people love watching videos like yours is because all those planned out TV shows are crap, they're too contrived, "oh no they've found another problem or can't get the parts, will they get the project finished on time, what will the customer think, will they manage to keep it all a secret" FFS. People are sick of that rubbish and just like seeing an honest, down to earth person working away on stuff, no BS, no made up crap, just good honest work...

The schedule is fine. It takes as long as it takes, so don't make the mistake of being slave to YT. You got your figures because your natural in your style and the channel always has knowledgeable content. You come across as a dependable guy who does a job properly and can be relied on. A rare quality nowadays (in the UK anyway)

*This a great channel and I've learned more about Diesel in the last few months than I've learned in the last 40 years. I think your day job repairs are at least as interesting if not more. Film more of the day jobs and cut those vids down to 12-15 minutes and run as a series as need be. Your daily subs are over 200 and your views are almost a million a month so growth will happen. That's better than those chuckleheads at CNN. Hang in there buddy. Oh yes, frankly I forget to like and share, and those that drop by probably forget to subscribe so there's no shame in giving a reminder to do it in a scrolling banner or something at the bottom half way through.*

Hey Wes...just do you man. Your humblness and simple way of speaking, and explaining is what makes your videos great! Also you don't overedit them and that's huge to me. Feels like i'm right there in the video...not watching a feature film. Do you...we all got a life and personal things goin on.
I mean I love Zip Ties and Bias Plies...but yet we hardly see vids from that Canuck these days 😂😂

Post them and I will watch. I don't have any problem with a bit if hit-or-miss on the schedule and if there's a gap between videos on a particular project, oh well. If you like doing it, do it the way you like.
On the prices you looked at on machinery trader, I bet those $5000 forklifts would all need some work to get them up to the condition of what you have now with all the brand-new parts you've thrown at it. So that would have to figure into the "was it worth it" calculation.

100% certain they all need something or they probably would not have been sent to auction or trade. I would buy a peace of equipment from this fine young man and never think twice about what a great serviced used machine I was buying. He's what we call a "TOP HAND "

I am happy to watch what you put up, when you put it up. I follow 297 channels, I am retired, and need to take a break from what i am playing with, every two or three hours, This week it was rebuilding a heavy steel workbench. So i watch a channel and then go back and play in my man cave for a while. If you don't put something up, some one else will. I love your sense of humor, knowledge and the way you do things, keep doing, it whenever you can.

Be true to yourself, that's why people are watching you. UA-cam will recommend videos that people watch and if you keep being yourself people will watch them. Your heavy equipment videos are unique on UA-cam because you give us the detail we crave and talk about what you're doing. I love the heavy truck repair videos, it's hard to find that kind of stuff by guys that know what they're doing and show the entire repair.
