    Ordered a new Impco regulator for $50 off e-bay.
    It starts and runs like a champ.

    Fan of your videos bro keep it up 👍🏽 i got a qs, in an old nissan like from the 80s , you think this could be the problem if it runs good on a cold start but ones it warms up it shuts off? Another qs do both the mixer and regulator gotta get hot? Thanks for your time

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  4 роки тому +1

      When it shuts off you have to figure out what is missing. Two suspects would come to mind, fuel and ignition. If the level of coolant is low the vaporizer would not be able to efficiently convert the liquid propane to vapor. With ignition, sometimes the ignition coil tends to fail when it gets hot.

    I have a Yale GLC050 2.4l It just has a vaporizer to a fuel rail with injectors, not sure what year it is. I put a brand new vaporizer with lock off value on, and it will only run if I barley crack the propane tank open. Any thoughts? Thanks. Edit -It was no start excessive fuel before I changed it just like this one.

      You are describing a next generation fuel system. The fuel system in this video is a single point throttle body injection system. What you are describing is a multi point Intake rail system. This is like comparing apples to oranges.

    Check the lpg injector, if it has one,,,they stick,,,if no start in cold weather add heat with heat gun ,,60 sec plus,,,,if that don’t work could be faulty, remove ,plug back up, ground, turn key on,,should vibrate, and see some movement in the end of it,, if none it’s bad,,,

    I have a 1998 Toyota 42-4FG25. To get it to start, I have use a shot of starting fluid. Once it's started, it runs fine. I don't even know where to start diagnosing this. Is there a separate circuit that controls the propane at startup?

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  5 років тому

      If you are able to start it by using an external source chances are your fuel system is vacuum operated. I would start by checking for vacuum leaks.

    • @redneckoriental
      @redneckoriental 5 років тому +1

      Yes, there's a vacuum line that goes to a diaphragm (vacuum valve?) If I removed the hose engine dies. I inadvertently fixed the starting problem. Wish I knew what I did. I had a feeling it wasn't getting enough vacuum at crank to open the vacuum valve and once the engine got running with starting fluid, there was enough vacuum to open the vacuum valve. Maybe the diaphragm or something in that vacuum valve was stiff and messing around with it was enough to free it up.

  • @soccerdommer

    Curious why you didn't check fuel pressure at the primary test port on the vaporizer with it still on the truck first? That would have pegged the gauge immediately and told you the vaporizer is the culprit right away.

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  7 років тому +1

      +JD10 when I did the first video propane was coming out of the vaporizer when cranking which for the older impco vaporizers would already indicate that it was already faulty. But forkliftfrank indicated that this is normal for this system. The service manual for this truck had no info on what pressure is to be expected. On top of that, there were other work that was needed to be done on the engine so the fuel system was already off.

    • @soccerdommer
      @soccerdommer 7 років тому

      I was meaning a gauge on the vaporizer with the system fully installed when you first diagnosed the truck. There's a primary test port for testing pressure on the vaporizer, remove the plug, install gauge. As soon as you keyed unit on the pressure would have pegged gauge.

    • @cliffordhill9078
      @cliffordhill9078 Рік тому

      Probably because Impco in their infinite wisdom Chose not to provide an access pressure test port to do that very thing.

    I have this Korean car, Renault Samsung SM5 which runs purely on LPG full injection. It starts and runs smoothly, but with time the engine dies out. I have changed the fuel pump but the dying out time has reduced. The stop valves are working perfectly. What might be the cause?

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  5 років тому +1

      Never worked on lpg cars but the engine dying out does not necessarily mean it's a fuel problem. You got to figure out what is missing when it dies

    • @AIMone3WP
      @AIMone3WP 7 років тому

      Not sure it had a vacuum leak so I put a hose and it started much better but then it idled too high so I tried to adjust it from the vaporizer n it would do anything. Just worked on it yesterday a few minutes. Going to take a better look today. I was just lost when the vaporizer wouldn't make a difference in the idle

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  7 років тому

      +AIMone3WP if it has an injector then it would have a map sensor. If the map is reading low vacuum then the ecm would interpret that as a request for more fuel and pulse the injector longer. Check your map sensor reading.

    • @forkliftgeek10
      @forkliftgeek10  3 роки тому

      Yes, It would be in the liquid form until the lock off opens since it is still under the same pressure as the tank. Once it reaches the regulator primary and the pressure is reduced, it should vaporize almost instantly.
