    Jana from Oklahoma. Love the frame. The 2 inch PVC looks so much sturdier.

    Oh my gosh! Thank you! I have a PVC frame that I bought, but it's too small for the quilt I'm trying to hand quilt right now. I also have an EZ3 frame from Grace company, that has a broken plastic cap, so I can't make it bigger, and they just told me they don't have parts and can't help me :/ so I'm stuck. Now that I see your video, I'm going to rework my PVC frame, and get 2 longer pieces, to fit my quilt, and some extra clamps :D So yes, thanks for the idea!

    What do you use for the sleeves/clips. This is the easy part putting the quilt on is the key.

      I bought some plastic clips off Amazon. I believe there is a link in the description. Buy the ones that are correct for you size of PVC tubes.

    Good stuff, Dave. I got a little snip of a design you or your son is working on. Looks very impressive.

      His hawk design is very cool. Mine will be a little more busy, but that is just how I roll. :-D

    My uncle made my aunt one with a 3rd bar to roll the quilt on.

      They work great for darning a quilt, for sure. I just saw the need for Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts who are making a button blanket have a cool and inexpensive project. I am sure your Aunt is happy to have hers!

    Can you get smaller parts instead of 2” like 11/4 or 1 1/2 instead of 2”

      Yes, you can. The small you go, the weaker it will become. They make PVC parts for 1 1/2", 1", 3/4", and 1/2". You will have to remeasure the "t" ends like I talked about to make your pieces fit together.

    Do they have t’s that slide back and forth instead of stoppers in the t?

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  4 роки тому

      If you do not glue the t's, you can sort-of slide the pieces in and out of them. Otherwise, they are all built with that stopper so that you don't push the straight end past the "t" and accidentally bypass it. You cannot just cut one piece and slide it all the way through... if that is what you are asking. Best wishes on creating your own quilting rack!

    Interesting, so this is for displaying your buttons you might have earned I am assuming? After reading the description below, I was at a loss because I am not a boy scout.

      In the Order of the Arrow, it is traditional to construct a blanket that has the person's individual "totem" that is sewn onto the back of the blanket. OA members can choose virtually any animal that they feel most represents them. They are called "button blankets" because in keeping with traditional American Indian cultures, they adorned their clothes with buttons. The quilting frame is to hold the blanket in place and make the sewing on of the totem and the buttons, much easier.

    Dave do you have to glue it?

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  4 роки тому

      Bob Anderson gluing helps you quickly set it up and maintain your project in as few small pieces as possible. However, it is optional and is not necessary, nor will not gluing interfere with the functionality of the frame.

      @Cory Gill Anti-lock Braking System??? What? Well, to keep the expenses low, I bought ABS (black 2" plastic pipe)... it is just a good thing I did not hook up any water fountain to this quilting frame, cause the EPA would be all over my (bleep). LMBO! Even without the glue for mixed plastics, I bet you can't pull the fittings off with your bare hands. :-D The quilting frame turned out great... my son is already using it to sew up his OA button blanket. Cheers!
