    Hello,just wanna ask, did you put two plywood/mdf together to make a little space in between where the T moulding can fit?

      @RetroactivearcadeCa  3 роки тому +2

      No, you need to use a slot cutter that cuts with a router along your edges. It is best to do your t-mold slots before assembly. We sell them on our website in our t-mold section of our website. www.retroactivearcade.ca

    I am adding T molding to a custom-made pinball cabinet. Two of my edges have a 10° bevel. Would you do anything different with a beveled edge or do you install the T molding the same as if it were a straight edge?

    I have ordered a 20 ft roll of t molding. Would this be enough for a bartop this size?

    I just got some of the 3/4" t molding and was trying to put it in a test piece I had. The plywood I have available is 18mm not 19mm thick despite the fact that when I purchased it at Home Depot it said 3/4" but it clearly is sone bastard version of 3/4". When I lined up the t mold one edge is perfect but the other hang over the edge of the wood by a mm and looks terrible. Does anyone know if this is fixable in someway? I can't find 18mm t mold and can't find 19mm plywood.

      Hi Stinky, all wood is a bit off from each other, every batch is a bit different. Just because it says 3/4" means that is is about 3/4' these days. Some wood we get is just over 3/4' and then the T-Molding doesn't cover the full edge of the wood and that is a problem you cannot fix. Your problem can be fixed although it is not the most ideal thing to do we unfortunately have to do it all the time. You have o cut off the excess with a razor blade. Slice into a spot on an angle and follow the the edge on the side you have the excess and be as still as you can to cut a steady line as it will show your cut marks on lighter colors. If your hang over is on the bottom side then it won't be as visible but if it is on the top side you will have to be careful. I usually slice in and keep the cutting in the middle of my blade and angle the blade at about a 25 degree angle and hold it with both hands to steady it. The last thing you want to do is remove your T-Mold as the T-Mold will never fit as tight as it is right now.

      @@RetroactivearcadeCa Thank you the explanation. I sent Retro Active Arcade an email on Monday about an issue with an order I received. I'm hoping you guys reply to that issue quickly.

      One option is to get t-molding that is slightly wider than the wood, and so after it is installed it will overhang on both sides. Then you use a trimming tool to trim it flush with the wood. This is also a good way to handle the situation where you cut your own t-molding slot and you screw up and the slot isn't quite centered. You just buy t-molding that's too big, and then trim it after installation. Here's one such trim tool ua-cam.com/video/0Yv99mmzmHA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FastCap

    You make it look so easy. :/ my wood started to squeeze together and then all hell broke loose. Not sure how to fix it now.

    What kind of wood u use that has a Tmold grooves or did u make the groove yourself?

    • @Hahnsoulo
      @Hahnsoulo 2 роки тому

      Wood doesn't come with t-molding slots. You have to cut the slot with a woodworking power tool called a router. Watch this video to see how it's done: ua-cam.com/video/xw1PJJ5x1tk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Aussieweaboo

    Thankyou for sharing! I am halfway through making my first upright arcade.. the MDF I have used is 12mm thick... would you suggest I used 12mm thick t-molding?

    • @RetroactivearcadeCa
      @RetroactivearcadeCa  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, always use the same thickness of T molding as the wood you are using.

    Seriously? Here's some tips to make this video "SAFE"!!! Never cut up or toward yourself with an exacto, razor, anything! And never hit t-molding with a black rubber mallet or hammer YOU"LL LEAVE MARKS and INDENTATIONS! Put a small hand cloth over the t-molding when you hit it!
