Great video. I have a dedicated Ms. Pac-Man cab I was considering on putting 3 buttons on. this video is going to help me a ton when I start the project .
Suggestions. Use some lube when drilling metal. Use a drill with a clutch. Set the clutch a few notches down so that it won't kick when it catches (Using a Ryobi hammer drill I set my clutch to 20 of 24). I put 100's of holes in metal doors using hole saws and the above steps will make drilling metal much easier. *also can indent the center of where you're drilling for better precision.
I would have used a drill press and clamped the control panel down. I also would have deburred the hole with a utility knife and a file before inserting the button. If I did use a hand drill I would have punched a small mark at the centre with a nail or screw to prevent the drill bit from skating. Once the bit was through I would have stopped, then placed the saw against the surface gently and restarted the drill to prevent the jerking Talked about in the video.
Chad, thank you for your question. We just wanted to let you know that we will be covering your question on Episode 24 our Live Show here on UA-cam. Here's a link to the episode if you want to watch it live: ua-cam.com/video/Uix7QOXe6C4/v-deo.html. It will also be available as a recording at the same link if you are not able to watch it during the live feed. Again, thank you for your question and good luck with your future repairs.
@Cassio Alteirosa You are correct. We did not show this in this video. It can be a bit tricky to get the control panel locked back in place but here are some tips. Make sure that you open the latches all the way up before placing the control panel back on your cabinet. This will keep the control panel from sitting on them making it difficult to latch them. Also, try pushing the latch up first then down when relocking them. This should help the latch find the hole that it needs to lock it down. We will also be covering your question on Episode 38 of our Live Show if you want to hear us talk about it. The show will be broadcast live on April 2, 2020 at 5:30 PM CT or you can watch it as a recording at the link provided below. Thanks! Link: ua-cam.com/video/qCp1vv4lOIY/v-deo.html
Hi. I have a custom built MAME 69 in one machine and my P1 and P2 start buttons don't work. Where would be the best place to buy them, and how do I repair it? I'm not an engineer
DUDE! Clamp that shit down! Also, you should use some tape over it, so the vinyl and/or laqour don't ripp off.. Nice way to fry your PSU there too, get all those metal shavings inside that PSU, LOL!

How dose that wire into the 60 in 1 ?
run your drill in reverse for a few turns after center hole is through and it wont grab like that did when its scored
nice video as usual

This is a great video, thank you!
What size is that bit
He said it's 1 1/8th inches. It's a pretty standard size for arcade buttons
Hey, how thick is a typical metal CP?
I have to aquire a sheet of aluminium or stainless steel for my CP, not sure how thick I should get.
Cool video
What size do you drill for leaf switch style buttons?
