Following on from last week’s episode, TheCarGuys touch down in Italy and visit the Ferrari factory to spec the brand new 488 Pista Spider. And you’re coming too! This episode aims to show you just what it’s like to spec a special new Ferrari at Ferrari itself, with a trained Atelier, and in the brand new Design Centre.
This week, TheCarGuys discuss inspirations, and then take you on a guided tour of the Atelier room, and the step-by-step process of creating the spec for the Pista Spider. And then at the end - the big reveal - what have they decided to go with?

No. The Pista Spider flip spec is basically the launch spec. Bianco Italia, Blu Nart stripe, matte blue CF and so forth.
Now Argento Nürburgriing with Blu TdF stripe and gloss CF. That's a nice spec.

“Depreciation brown” is a seriously funny line, especially so since you go with it.
Yup, loved that - and the Ferrari guy's face when he said it.
Have to say, though, I'm very far from convinced by the interior - not that my opinion matters a jot - it'll be interesting to see what it looks like in the 'flesh'.
Ikr its fun to watch someone make a horrible mistake and have everyone go along with it

Yeah, agreed... the seats aren't what I would choose if I had the opportunity... but I feel as though he specced what he loved rather than what he though would be profitable in the future and I respect that
FANTASTIC Spec! The cockpit in that warm chocolate with the texture of alcantara and the gloss carbon is a real special combination you won't see often. You really did a great job and thought everything through to make something everlasting.

I would have done every single thing the same except for 2 things. Leather & not alcantara, and a front parking camera if it didn’t have the parking sensors. This is the classiest, most elegant spec I have ever laid my eyes on & I can’t wait to live vicariously through your channel. It gets better each video! Thank you both from Las Vegas! 👍✨🍷

That is absolutely stunning. I personally have made enough Ferrari configurations to know that is an excellent spec. I hope to one day spec my own Ferrari with a grigio paint and cioccolatto leather interior.

Looks amazing, a refreshing alternative to the more common red & yellow exterior. Gold wheel details add class too. Also like the 'depreciation brown' interior as never seen it. When fully spec'd & modelled then it's clear to see that it's worth the wait. Striking. Well done, top choice

Seeing some of Ferrari’s back catalogue of racing cars and colours as inspiration was also really inspiring.

A color that is not expected but I have seen a delivery video on a 2018 911 with a dark green exterior and a brown interior and that changed my mind on how that interior color can make a car have the wow factor.

Pretty much bang on for me, I would have looked at substituting black for blue, interior and exterior, not sure if I would have gone for it as black accents are more balanced sensible... can’t wait to see it in a future video. Cheers

Great video and love the spec of the exterior especially the gold flakes in the black stripe make it pop. The interior is really nice even though the chocolate brown wouldn't have been my choice but after looking at it for a bit it did grow on me of course it's like you said it's your car and you want what you want. Can't wait to see the video when you finally collect it

Helluva car. Not 100% on gold alloys or 'chocolato' interior but we're all different and hey, if pushed I'd take it off your hands if you wanted me to have it as a cheeky gift. Speccing your own 488 Pista is a lovely place to be though. Marvellous. Very interesting to get a peek inside Maranello too.

It looks like the exterior color gets a hint of bronze in the sun. The brown interor compliments that perfectly.

I was going to question the choice of a brown interior (seemed a bit British leyland from the 70s), but seeing the final video, it really works. Well done on a cracking spec.

That looked like a proper busmans holiday and no mistake, guvnor ! . It's an off the wall type of spec , all in the bronze spectrum , very unique and not on any fashion trend , which I appreciate more than most people would , chocolate alcantara daytona 's , now that is inspirational , very marmite, very 70's , but I like it . As someone who grew up looking at Rover SD1's, with brown velour seats, takes me right back to 1978. Beware some of the automotive fashionistas, "borrowing" that type spec for themselves. Top work gents you got their in the end. 👍👍👏👏

Trust me. Those cameras are absolutely useless. They are placed so low that you cannot see a damn thing with them.

Ordering cams for my 488 Spider was a huge mistake. Worth nothing and look ugly.
It's no different on the Lusso and 812. Not sure what Ferrari is thinking.

The parking sensors work well, so they are a nice option for him. I specced those on my Pista Spider rather than cams.
