Exceptional detailed video, very well done. Super job explaining each connector and how to remove each one. The video quality on your close ups is unreal. I don't know what you're using to take videos with, but keep using it. Explanations of what can go wrong if you pry or push and pull too hard was great. You're an expert mechanic, keep up the incredible work. I appreciated this video for the 3.5 Ecoboost, it's the best one out there for valve cover gasket replacement on this model engine.
**THREE TIPS** 2015 Ford F-150 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost w/ 120K miles. I replaced the valve cover because I was getting an oil leak (in the back left corner) that was smoking and entering the cabin. I had previously replace the pump and that did not solve my issue. Replacing the valve cover was harder than the pump replacement. #1. Once I had had the valve cover unbolted, I found cutting the three rubber seals where the spark plugs go allowed for me to pull the valve cover off easier. Two of the three seals had melted/bonded to the the aluminum tubes. I was replacing the cover - but it took some banging and a pry bar to break the seal. #2. Make sure all wires are clear when you put the valve cover back on. May sound intuitive but I made that mistake and did not realize it until after I went to plug all the wires back up. #3. I called the wrong Ford location and they quoted me $206 for an OEM cover. Called the right one to find the same part $50 cheaper. Not sure why it was so much cheaper. I know there was a fair amount of discussion on these items not being available but on 8/30/2024 both local Ford dealerships had them in stock. I consider myself an average DIYer - this project took me about 5 hours to replace the passenger valve cover. I took my time so as not to break any connectors. Minus being dumb and not clearing all the wires before I installed the valve cover, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars when it came to difficulty.
Can the tube seals be replaced without removing the valve cover. Several of mine are leaking oil into the tubes. There was oil on some of the insulators when I replaced the plugs. Thanks
Will the high pressure fuel pump need to be primed since it’s been taken out? If so does the key on and off method work? I’m gonna tackle both valve covers on my ecoboost as well and trying to get as much info before I start
@@FLAutoCare I meant paper back or pdf haha. All data is subscription right? Any recommendations for a thorough manual pdf. I only have my truck not a shop like you
According to All Data it's on the passenger side window, at the very bottom on the flat side ....I have made a UA-cam short on something like that it's very similar
It looks about the same ,it actually looks easier cause the 2.7 dont have the high pressure fuel pump(in the way) but it's has about 75% of the same design

Very detailed and informative. thank you. turned an all day deal into a 4.5 hour job for me!!👍👍👍
Great video with a lot of detail on this process.
Great video, very detailed and informative made it very easy
Thank you FL AutoCare

I'm sure there is a way for the option, so yes it is possible, but according to the books it's no so what ever you want to do with that info
@@FLAutoCare Thanks
miss the good old days when it was just some bolts, replace gasket and put back on.
Thank you. How many hours of a job is this?
So according to ALLDATA
Left side - 3.2 hrs
Right side - 2.8 hrs
Both sides - 5.6 hrs total
@@FLAutoCare, thank you.
Nice video thank you 🙏🏻
The piece that was previously broken and fixed @2:38
What is the replacement for that piece called ?
I believe it was called CVF turbo inlet tube

I have never did anything special just put it back and tight it ,i know there's steps that ford recommend but I never had any issues
Great video. Is there anything specific you had to do to the fuel pump to get it off?
No just the fuel disconnect and the 2 bolts never had a issue with the fuel pump
Awesome video!! This is going to make my life so much easier thank you!
What service manual brand and type are you using? @FLAutoCare
Glad that it helped, and I'm using All Data for the manual, and not to sure what you mean by type lol

Do you have to loosen the turbo pipes? It seems like can get around them. Thanks for your help!
I would differently recommend to,to avoid a headache I'm sure you can get the job done without loosing them
Do you have a recommendation on how to find the value cover and the gaskets?
I recommend oem ,I've tried the parts store and they don't fit right and wasted a whole day going back and forth with 3 different stores
Awesome video. Thanks
Where is the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor located for Ford SuperDuty F550 6.7td 2022
According to All Data it's on the passenger side window, at the very bottom on the flat side ....I have made a UA-cam short on something like that it's very similar
Is this the same prodded for a 2015 2.7 eco?
It looks about the same ,it actually looks easier cause the 2.7 dont have the high pressure fuel pump(in the way) but it's has about 75% of the same design
Diff engine size but basically similar for about any valve cover
Based on your question, you should hire someone
Do you have the parts list/numbers?
No I don't sorry
@@FLAutoCare Great video BTW. Thanks for the insight!
That THING I was telling you about is called? 23:15 I broke it
Ford's part number- dl3z9961b
