      I have sold all of my Canon lenses except for a nifty 50, which I have on a film camera. I used the sigma adapter for EF lenses and it worked well for the most part. Except I ran into an issue where my camera locked up during a wedding. I couldn't figure out why at the time, but it was the adapter. Since then I only use E mount lenses. Some folks never have issues but for me, I couldn't risk it.

    Interesting to hear you moved from Canon dslr to this makes me wanna ask what did you do with your Canon glasses? Like me I feel the need to move to Sony but heard AF its better with their native lenses and I have ef 35mm ii 1.4 and ef 85mm ii 1.2 i can't just sell them off for a new system not sure I'd like yet, what do you advise 🤔 and how was your transition like

      This is a great idea for a video. Thank you haha. Long story short, I first bought a Sony body and a Sigma adapter. I used that for a bit to get used to the system.
      Then after I saw how much easier it was to shoot with a mirrorless I sold my gear online and then immediately purchased the minimum lenses I'd need to get the job done for shoots. Then just grabbed more as time passed to fit my needs.

      I too am finally seriously considering the shift from my beloved Canon DSLR’s to Sony mirrorless for video. I’m considering the a7rIII primarily for UA-cam video to relaunch my channel. I want to start with my current EF glass. My primary concern is out-of-camera color science. Canon’s out-of-camera color science was/is wonderful…no color grading needed (IMHO). Does Sony’s color science require considerable color grading? I honestly don’t want to get into the weeds of colorizing-I would not enjoy those hours? I realize Lutzs are also available. Based upon current prices, I may find a newer model that makes sense also. Thank you for this review. Peace and hope.

      @@e.conwaybryansr.8626 Sorry for the late reply. I missed the message some how. The color science is a bit different from Canon but I feel like the colors look good. I have only recently started experimenting with color grading my youtube videos. Before now, I have always just filmed straight out of the camera with no issues and it has looked pretty good. In fact, I used to shoot video straight out of the camera for Canon too for youtube as well. I don't remember seeing a big difference. Just make sure you have good lighting.
      Aside from that, with still photos, the color science is noticeably different from Canon but I have created presets for my photography work so that I can always have that consistent look I'm going for. It usually gets me most of the way there with working on sessions. Either way, you'll get used to the look and you'll be able to edit from there. I wouldn't worry.

    Probably asked a lot, would it be worth it to go with something like the A7R V, or is this still worth it? I mostly want to shoot car photos and family portraits.

    • @Lee_Squire
      @Lee_Squire  6 місяців тому +1

      That's a great question. The A7RV is a really sweet camera. If you are using it professionally everyday and you can justify it, then sure go with the A7RV. But if you aren't, the A7RIII is an amazing camera still and it will more than get the job done and then some. I am still pretty happy with mine. I may upgrade to something newer later in the year once I book a few more weddings but for now both of mine are performing well!

      @@Lee_Squire Thank you for the response! That does help me seeing what folks like you achieve with an "older" camera and even do professional work. I'm definitely a casual so I'm definitely leaning towards the A7R III, especially since it's a lot less expensive.
