The content you're offering your subscribers for free is absolutely amazing! Greatest and most detailed review of the a7riii on UA-cam!
Nice work Jared, I really enjoyed that. Loads of good cutaways, nice editing, it's a lot of work, but looks great.
Was waiting for dis all these days... and man the thumbnail is awesome!!!
My favorite UA-cam series of all-time!!! Keep up the amazing work Fro!!!
I have been anxiously waiting for this video!!!!!
Best camera review I have seen on youtube. And I have seen them all.
Really Great review Jared and Steven. Very informative and I know what my upgrades going to be now! You guys did really good on this review
I love your reviews man and how in depth you get with it. I can’t wait for the a7III review.
I am not shopping for a new camera at this time, I almost always get something extra out of your reviews...tips, tricks, inspiration and of course a laugh or two. Thanks to all at the Fro Factory for your hard work.
I always look forward to your reviews, the TV-like production quality is so cool to see on youtube!
Absolutely love these photos, Jared
Fantastic video as always! Thank you so much for this in depth review! Went ahead and ordered a new I shoot raw (Japan) shirt to show my appreciation of the content you provide
Thank you. Truly appreciate that.

Excellent review! not just the review itself but the production and the way it was delivered was well planned and executed. I commend you and your team sir!
Outstanding review and love the landscape! Very well done!
I love these real world reviews
No question you and Stephen created the best video from the Sony Sedona Photo sessions. I've seen a lot of the other reviews and I am really impressed with the approach you took and the information you end up sharing. Well done. Thanks for the extra effort.
Thank you.
Awesome review and location! I really enjoy your reviews and have used much of it in my choices as a new photographer. Thanks!
The video we’ve all been waiting for!
Great video guys! I was 99% convinced, now I'm 100% convinced. I'm ordering the a7riii
You have the best quality, most knowledgeable videos exploring the features of different gear, and the critiques are always honest and clear, I commend you sir.
Mate, production value has taken a big step up, loving your work.
Man what an epic review Jared. Nice work! I liked it so much I turned on the notifications. Please do more videos about Sony cameras. I love all the tips and tricks you show as well as the review. Keep doing videos exactly like this except maybe a bit shorter.
Can I just say that that “Air” video was insanely good
Absolutely love your real world reviews Jared. You're a top notch source for valuable information. Look forward to the next one!
thank you
Godfrey Jemand nah jackass I was just leaving an honest opinion on a video? Jared has killer real world reviews. As far as I'm concerned, no one else puts in as much work he does with this type of content. But yeah man all of my 0 subscribers and I are totally going to benefit from the comment I left on his video. Imma be the next Neistat after this one. GG.
Really nice review Jared, as always!
*Superb* review Fro. You’ve put those other guys to shame. Would it have swayed me from my final choice? Probably not, because I’ve had four FF e-mount Sony’s already, but I really enjoyed the entire video. Great film work and editing, and *highly* entertaining presenting.
Thanks for the review Jared. I got my A7Riii Friday and have taken some shots. It is a great update from the A7Rii and I couldn’t be happier. Still love my Nikon gear and stills quality with the D810 but the weight difference makes me choose Sony kit every time I travel.
Bro! You just went in. Love the review. Super detailed and so much content. Great images.
thanks Eli.
Anyone else would have just thrown out a basic talking head review. Fro has to add some intense style and it is definitely worth the wait. The amount of planning you put into these is insane. Respec
thanks. This is our focus this year. Follow this style more then the years prior.
Jared Polin Stephen and Dan are really kicking ass and taking names in the editing department too.
Steven has that serious stoic look in the helo.

Huge work! Great Video and Great work Jared!
Hey Jared,
I always love watching your video’s coupe you maybe do a panasonic g9 real word review? Would love to see that
Great video, happy birthday Jared.🎁
The BEST review of the Sony a7Riii I've seen thus far. Thanks
I almost clicked off when i saw 41 minutes, but I am so happy I didn't.
Hands down the best a7riii review so far, I also love the little handy tips you throw in there.
Definitely clicking that subscribe button.
Dear Godfrey, you are absolutely right, photography is a hobby for me. Like everything else in life, I am constantly learning and improving my skills, thats why a lot of us come to youtube, udemy ect. to learn something new.
I do think Jared is cool, thats why I watched the whole 41 minute video.
Take care.
No matter some folk say.....you do great, true detailed reviews Fro....long may it continue! I miss your sniff tests at Alan’s! More please lol
Really great cinematography steven 👍
Thanks Jared, great video. Love your effort, we appreciate it.
Thank you.
Holy Moly! Super sharp👍📸
An excellent in-depth analysis, great job.
Finally!! I've been waiting on this one! Thanks Jared and team! I'm getting the A7R iii next month... Leaving my 5d Mark iii behind.... :(
Does the eye autofocus also work with EF lenses? thx
I have made that trip a month ago but now I'm back to canon again! Test it first if you have the opportunity! that's my advice to you!
what made you go back?
julio saint Just Ribeiro thanks man! I've really been torn between the A7riii and the 5d4... But honestly I feel like the Sony is offering WAY more for the money with minimal drawbacks... Yes it will take some getting use to, but in the end, I think it'll be worth it...
Victor NightSong With up to date firmware and the latest adapters (with up to date firmware), and “modern” canon lenses, yes, eye af will work. Just not as well as with native lenses.
Always worth watching Jared's videos - firstly he makes me laugh and secondly he takes fantastic pictures and I'm hoping to learn from him !
One of the best review!!!
Excellent review Jared. Do you think you will review the Fujifilm GFX 50s
Usually not a fan of your videos, but thoroughly enjoyed this one, good job
Enjoyed your review Jared! I’ve been shooting an a7rii for a year and could never go back a DSLR. I smirked at your comment about your shot w/o looking into the view finder, b/c that’s how I shoot 90% of the time except for in bright sunlight when the back lcd gets washed out. Keeping your eyes on the subject field is great aid for composition, especially candid portraits. You already see the next shot before you take the one currently framed one. It’s a head up display. Plus a lot less straining.
"if you're, for some reason, DOING landscape photography" lolol
hey it's fun, Jared!!
“GET OUT OF THE SHOT WEIRD FEMALE MODEL let’s take pictures of this beautiful boy”
he was hot....... right?
I Shoot ARW
Christian Lainesse i shoot cr2 :D
true.
What you did there...
good point
Godfrey Jemand ARW. is the file type name for Sony’s compressed raw files
Great Review Jared, Loved it
I find I learn a lot about composition from your critique of your own images. I’ve viewed several of your videos, some older, this week... The more you see and share I find I am more aware of areas where I can improve.
No camera is perfect for everything. I am loving my Sony A7R3 for most situations and subjects. I upgraded from my A7R2. I am a longtime pro and switched from Canon to Sony last January. Once I got into Sony mirrorless ,I could never go back. I prefer the features of the Sony mirrorless camera over all the high-end Nikon and Canon DSLRs. I am using Sony and Sigma lenses. But the choices here are a personal preference. Nikon and Canon users will do their best to support their allegiance. Cheers and thanks Jared for your efforts !
Ah cool! I should be converting to Sony a7riii what’s it like with the converters, I’ve got the sigma art 35mm for canon. What’s your adapter?
Tom Lally, The Sigma MC-11 (Canon mount to Sony E Mount) adapter works great on Sony mirrorless cameras.
Mike Zupancic ,no one is saying anyone should spend for two systems. Many Nikon and Canon pros are switching systems though. Sony shooters are NOT switching back to Nikon or Canon. Cheers.
Awesome! Thank you for that. I'll just have to see. Exciting time.
Gerald Williams That’s not true, some are leaving Sony , to other brands & yes even Canon
S/O to Stephen for the video editing! this was beautifully done.
Stunning photos and great review !!!
Great video young man.
Enjoyed every minute.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this amazingly done review Jared! Sony's kicking some serious ass here. Anything on the wire about the a7S iii?
one of your best vids to date.
"Hyperbole = exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally". That doesn't mean that hyperbole is insincere. It's a form of gratitude. It's like when you say to your mother, "Mom, you're the best". Using your logic you can't ever say that. But if you take your head out of your ass you'll realize that is a very nice thing to say to your mother and that from your perspective you appreciate her. So I suggest you re-orient your head and contemplate the definition of "hyperbole". A common form of appreciation certainly in many cultures around the world.
Well Produced Video! Love it
Awesome video Jared!!
Duuude love your shots here
Love the review - well balanced between actual shots/footage and technical explanations. I'm in review mode - currently shooting Pentax K3. I shoot mostly wildlife and landscape. K3 is ok, but looking at a system with better AF. I've reviewed the D850 and while it looks tempting, I'm VERY intrigued by this Sony. I want to love the K1 Mark II, but the slower FPS has me looking the other way. If I only knew what the next crop Pentax version would be. No rush to make a decision now, but this review has made me pause even longer on what to do! Damn technology! lol
great balanced review! less about brand competition: I think we’re at an inflection point where you’re seeing mirrorless beginning to overtake SLR architecture as a fully digital platform in terms of innovation and new features.
Thank you for the upload, important information right there
Thank you for this sir! Great examples and video!
Great review Jared!
Great review... content, production, editing all excellent!
thanks
i was wondering if that review ever comes out - cool, thanks!
it will, i mean it has.
Yes!!! I've been waiting for the whole day! Thank you.
Great review as always Jared...I think the best addition to the a7rIII to somebody that earns money with photography is the two cards slots...I once almost lost a very importante wedding using an a7II...sold it and bought an a99 for which I had very good lenses...
The hair is POPPPPPIN' in this vid. Thanks for the review Jared.
Fantastic video From really enjoyed it .
thank you for watching.
Awesome video what a beautiful camera!
Godfrey Jemand you mad bro? 🤔😂
I liked the higher ISO stuff, I like the colours, love the eye af, I love the evf. Only thing concerning me is the weather sealing, tough choice and I am getting one of these cameras next month. Great video.
What a fantastic Channel. Love it!
Nice video Jared. Greetings from Puerto Rico :)
This is a fantastic review!! Production value alone is 💯! And of course, a greatly talented reviewer 💪🏽💪🏽📸 #SeeYa
Great message. Nicely done.
It's 2020 and the Sony A7R III is still relevant and in demand. The D850, allthough still great, have aged a lot. Contrast detect af, 155 af points, slapping mirror, 8fps burst, slow video af, big heavy, and dslr's are dying plus the F-mount has been replaced by the Z-mount. Interesting turn of events in my opinion.
I’d never choose mirrorless until I have no choice. It just has no character, everything is just overly simple and easy. It takes away from the reward of putting in the effort to get great images. I have a Canon 5D mkii, and have used a canon eos R6, and obviously it’s superior technically, but I miss the size, the weight, and feel of using a DSLR. The sound of the mechanical shutter…
Watching the review right now - excellent, as always - and up to the point where banding is mentioned. I found banding to be a pretty big problem, as well. Silent mode would be a godsend if anti-flicker weren't disabled and the effects of rolling shutter didn't show up in 25-plus% percent of the shots.
been waiting for this for too long. yay!
was it worth the wait?
totally.
Great video and review. Really thought your images were great. 👍
Thanks for the in-depth discussion and review. I’m shooting an a9 now, but am planning a safari and thinking about resolution. We print 30x50” and it seems like resolution would have produced noticeably different results. If you had to choose, would you take an a9 or an a7riii on safari?
Loving your channel!!!! Daydreamiing and window shopping and wishing! But LOVE IT. lol
Your video guy did an amazing job,esp on the 'Air' video...seemed like a movie
Hi Jared,
thank you for this very interesting review. Especially your work with the eye-AF function is very impressive. The eye-AF makes it much easier to take portraits.
But the quantum leap is the EVF compared to the old mirror clunkers. Now you can see the result (under/overexposing, colours, white balance, even ISO-noise) and make changes instantly before pressing the button. I underestimated this advantage for a long time, but it is so efficient. That's why there is almost no reason anymore for RAW 😉
What could be improved? As you said: The touch screen does not tilt down all the way and it cannot be tilt to a side. I f you shoot photos in portrait format in very low positions (e. g. marathon runners), so
tilting to a side would be an advantage. And yes, there should be a possibility to turn on the AF-box always (constantly green or white) in very bright conditions.
At 31:41 you say, that you must use the left wheel to switch from AF-S to AF-C with the Alpha 9. Therefore I have a little trick for you from a Sony video: ua-cam.com/video/ezeQiKQQOnA/v-deo.html You can customize nearly every button to switch from AF-S to AF-C (plus 9 other settings). Menu 2/8: Custom Key (Shoot.) - select one button - Recall Custom hold 1 - activate Drive Mode - Cont. Shooting Hi.
In this price range the Sony a7R III is an outstanding work tool. I do not know, what else to buy.
"I would rather have the ability to touch everything." Jared Polin 2018
Thanks for the review. I like your real world review
Thnx for this huge amount of information Fro. Peace
Personally, I think out of all the innovative "image improvement" innovations that Sony, Canon and Nikon are doing( not sure what Nikion's equivalent is), that Canon's Digital Lens Optimizer is the most useful and best for me ( compared to Sony's pixel shift). DLO can be applied to any raw image after being taken, with moving subjects etc. It doesn't have the limitation of still subjects only combined with tripod use.
Looks like a ton of fun! And that camera is tempting
Really solid review, thanks
The Best production quality and Sample Real Life Images for any Camera Reviewer...
Fro is the Best...
thank you!!!
I have the sony a7riii it was a massive upgrade from my canon 7d. AF isn't important to me because I only use vintage manual glass I love the pentax SMC lenses 50mm f1.2 just looks so good
One of the best reviews!
This was an excellent review. You are correct that AF on mirrorless is not as good as a dSLR, but it's now so close that it is no longer a deal breaker. And you're correct that a mirrorless camera plus good glass is just as heavy and bulky. The more good cameras that come out just benefit us all.
yup yup
Its a bit lighter though
I went with the D850. The imaging resource weather sealing video played a part. The lack of lenses compared to the Nikon also was a deciding factor.
yup.
I'm from the future. Nikon DSLR cameras are all dead now. Mirrorless if the future and the a7Riii still holds up very well to this day.
Hi there Jared, I believe the reason for the card slots to be "inverse" is that Sony is obviously, a Japanese brand and as you may very well know, traditionally, Japanese is written in a format called tategaki (縦書き), which is inspired by the traditional Chinese system. In this format, the characters are written in columns going from top to bottom, with columns ordered from right to left. So, if you look at the camera from behind, in a vertical way (some people actually do turn their cameras to insert the cards, not me) one would read from right to left. I don't know if I am making sense, but that is my logic. Saludos desde México amigo!! (Greetings from Mexico buddy!) Oh, by the way I love your reviews as well as your tutorials. Keep up the good work!
That Steven guy surely is a talented videographer!
Thanks. Great review.
