Will you be picking up your very own Sony A7R III this year? Are you deciding between two cameras? Let's chat about it below.
Hi Lee, I have a question. Is the autofocus in photos/videos and the full hd 60 fps video quality on the R III much worse than that of the Sony a6400?
I don't like the A6400 viewfinder and screen, and the quality of low-light shots, so I always wanted to upgrade to R III.
@@afferist I would say that it is better. But keep in mind that the RIII has a much larger sensor than say, the A7III or A7IV. So it doesn't perform quite as well in low light. So if you are doing a lot of low light work and that is important to you. Maybe look at the a7IV instead or the a7III if you want to save a few bucks.
@@Lee_Squire thanks
In all tests I've seen and from personal experience shooting many cameras the low light of the Riii is right there with the 24mp counterparts. It's when you go to the Riv it gets noticeably worse in low light
Rii/Riii is still one of the best sensors ever made imo. It's actually just as good in low light as the 24mp ff counterparts. The Riv is super noisy in comparison. They seemed to have improved to low light on the Rv though. If the 7cr had 2 card slots I'd be all over it. As far as durability the Riii is a tank. Mine has been through hell. I've broke multiple Canon 5d's. The Riii has hit concrete more than I'd like to admit but never skips a beat.
Wow! That is crazy haha. I don’t think I have ever dropped a camera! But that is good to know! Also about the low light as well!
I am a hobbyist currently using the Canon Rebel T7 and I'm looking to upgrade to a not so expensive mirrorless camera. Very well done video. Thank you.
Thanks a lot! I used to shoot with a Canon Rebel T7i for a while. Great camera! If you pick up the a7r3 or something similar you are going to really love it!
Hell ya, it was my first camera actually, your I think 2023 video was the same as this one, I also got the 24-105 G lens and my god it is still an insane camera
Yeah pretty much haha. There aren't a lot of huge differences between then and now. Still an excellent choice for a lot of folks.
Look out for my upcoming channel. I’m about to do the unthinkable and that is to get me my first prosumer camera. I have spent endless hours watching many UA-cam videos about Sony and I think I’m convinced to take a leap of faith. I can’t wait to get my hands on this new camera and for the first time a prime lens. All that I have seen on UA-cam Sony does not disappoint.
Going to be doing video in the street at night talking with people asking questions want other peoples opinions on a best camera
A7IV would be good for that if you’re looking for something hybrid for photo and video.
@@Lee_Squire what lens would be good for?
Cameras like Canon 5D Mark ii can do the job. Why do we ask ourselves if the A7riii which is only a couple of years old is still capable?
That’s a great point. I think it’s largely because whenever a new camera comes out FOMO sets in for people and all of a sudden whatever you have “isn’t good enough” anymore.
I will say that while I agree older cameras can do the job, if money is not a huge barrier, I would most definitely recommend a mirrorless model vs DSLR. And it doesn’t have to be the latest and greatest either. Like the Sony a7R III.
@@Lee_Squire i do have DSRLs and i do have mirrorless, one of the best sensors on the A7Rii. For the professional photography either the OLD DSLRs or the mirrorless can do the job with no questions. What matters is the user. Now a good lens will definatelly makes your life easier. But at this point we are with the technology, a better and latest mirrorless camera wont help you enouph with the frame or resolution size we need in most of the photography applications. I'm a technology fan, on the otherside spending 3-4K every year for a camera gear i would better invest on a fast prime lenses.
@@astasuleo You're right. Definately depends on the user. And I totally agree about getting really good glass. It takes things to another level. You can always upgrade a body later.
The r3 was almost too gooe when it came out. Ive had mine since about a week after release...id like somenof the new ones but i dont need to upgrade yet. Even on DXOMark the R3's sensor is still like 4th or 5th place
Hey Jay thanks for the comment. Yeah I totally agree, I still haven't felt the need to upgrade yet. But I feel like I might upgrade to the RV or the a7IV next. Haven't decided.
@@Lee_Squire I have a7iv and a7riii , the a7iv its far superior in af and speed in menus, buffer , iso performance ,screen and evf but the a7riii its an incredible camera and I will keep it as second camera you can do almost everything than the a7iv in photography but for video its another story .
@@NAM3L3555 Got ya. Thanks for that bit of info. I am leaning towards the riv honestly. It seems like the perfect middle ground.
Bro , I’ve recently found a Sony used Sony a7riii in excellent condition for around 1,400$ , with around 680 shots and no laser damage and no dead pixels, what do you think? Should I go with a not used Sony a7iii for around 1,200$? Or this a7riii is right for me to buy
I have A7IV and A7riii , I change my a7riii for a7riii for 100€ more with 12.000 shots and it's totally recomend the upgrade , better evf and screen, more mpx if you needed and it don't have the low pass filter so the photos looks more sharp but if you do video I still recommend you a7iii it have better AF , the a7riii it's not bad but a7iii have more coverage but anyway the are 2 great cameras, expend money in lenses because you will see more difference with good glasses than the camera.
That sounds like a decent deal. Just make sure you check it out to make sure everything works! Both are great cameras and will save you a bit of money. Personally I really like the RIII. The screen and evf is better. But it depends on your needs.
@@Lee_Squire TNX bro
I have the A7RIII
its my backup for my A7iv
How do you like the A7iv? I'm thinking of upgrading at some point this year. Not sure if I'll get the RV or just stick with the IV. We will see.
