I know that you have heard this 1000 times, but thank you so much. I am a enthusiast photographer and I shoot shots for my family and my wife's website and you have helped me so much. It may not mean much coming from an average joe, but you have helped me develop my photography skills so much. Thanks!
I can't thank you enough for making this video. Just got my A7riii and this took me from being lost and confused to zipping around having fun with the camera in a few hours. You are a fantastic teacher!
An essential guide. I binned the manual and went through this systematically which was 500% better. Thank you, Tony
When your Sony a7RIII got delivered today and Tony just drops a tutorial video too! It was meant to be!
Thank you so very much for this long detailed very accurate tutorial. I'm a professional photographer who just upgraded to the a7r3 and you have just saved me probably a year worth of learning the camera thank you very much love the channel keep up the good work
Tony, your video on the Sony a7Rlll was exactly what I needed to get started on my new camera. I have been reading about this camera for several months and finally decided it was the one I wanted. I knew that it would be difficult to set up but your video explains everything in graphic detail that's easy to understand. I spent about 6 hours to get through your 1 hour video - stopping at every point to take notes and adjust the settings on the camera - it was time well spent !!!
Tony, I have to apologize. I honestly used to think these videos were kind of pointless. At least for pro cameras, because anyone buying a camera of this caliber should already have enough knowledge to figure this stuff out quickly. Then I bought an A7R III when Canon was left in the dust by competitors. Wow, I love the camera and the incredible 42mp sensor....but those pages and pages of menus are incredibly confusing at times. This video really did help. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work!
@@iamboumagik But he said he "used to THINK" the videos were pointless. So he's just changed his opinion, it doesn't mention anything he might have said critically. Perhaps you ought to read before typing next time
Are you happy you left canon? Just curious as I'm a canon 5D4 shooter and have just taken delivery of the A7RIII but not sure if I should keep my 5D4 yet??
@@MC50000 I switched to Sony a couple of months ago. I still my Canon but use it less and less. One day it will go...
I’m a full beginner with and this video gave me an amazing amount of help. I feel so much more comfortable THANK YOU
I switched from nikon to the sony a7III and this was exactly the same as the a7rIII in terms of menu. Thank you so much for doing this, it saved me a lot of time and actually helped me learn the menu system faster.
After much debate I finally upgraded from my Sony A7 Mark ii, to the Sony a7r III, and am very pleased with your tutorial . Between you and the UA-camr Mark gala a Sony representative I have pretty much set my camera to do something that I could not do well, with the Sony A7 Mark II. And that is shoot fast action photography without wasting a lot of time thank you very much for this tutorial.
As an experienced Canon Photographer (5D MK3 for the last 5/6 years) this has been a fantastic tutorial to get to know my new Sony A7R3. Thank you Tony. So well explained.
How do you find a7r3 against the 5d? Have used it for wildlife with lenses like tamron?
@@achirandamidipolawatta1028 Good morning Achiranda. I have 2 5D Mk 3's, a 5d Mk 4 and a Sony A7R 3 from the range you mentioned. I have a 1 DX 2 and a Sony A6400 also. My 2 favourites are the 5D Mk3 and the Sony A7R3. The dynamic range and the focus system of the Sony is better. I have the 24-105 lens constantly on the Sony and the 16-35L lens constantly on the 5D3. I have the Sony 16-35 2.8 and find the 82mm ring size awkward with filters (the step down ring doesn't work). I also have the Canon 24-105L but its not a patch on the Sony 24-105. I use neither for wildlife or 70-200 work. The 1 DX 2 and the 5D4 are far faster than the others. The Sony A7R3 is faster then the 5D3 which is a Fab landscape lens but too slow for wildlife or Sports. I hope this helps.
Thanks for this! Worked for my A7iii :)
I bought the A7III today and there is no better way to get to know your camera to sit down with your camera and watch this video simultanious. Very good job Tony, it sure saved me a lot of time.
Just starting out and recently bought this camera because so many you tubers recommended it but was ready to return because it was overwhelming until I watched this video. Thanks for such an informative and understandable presentation. I’m going to keep it now.
Best, more professional, most researched, most eloquent, nicest, most organized photography duo on UA-cam - thank you for all of your hard work - I wouldn't be able to do it without you guys :)
Great video! I was lost moving from Fuji to the A7RIII. The menu system is insane and so complicated. You really simplified quite a few things. Thanks!
Great presentation Tony! i have been considering getting the A7RIII for a couple of weeks now and after watching your video I have just ordered the camera AND THE 70-200-2.8. Been a professional Nikon shooter for 31 years, so time to change! Thank you again, very informative!
Thanks for putting the time for this awesome tutorial Tony. Just switched from Nikon to Sony full frame and am extremely happy with it. Can't wait to start my lens collection soon.
I am transitioning to Sony from Nikon and this is the exact kind of video I needed saw it from beginning to the very end. The only recommendation I am not taking is lens choice. I will be going with the Tamron 17-28 and Tamron 28-75. Thanks Tony for always making amazing videos.
All i can say is THANK YOU! I just upgraded from a Canon 80D to the Sony A7iii and i was very overwhelmed at first but i watched this video from begining to end and you made me so comfortable with my camera can’t wait to learn more!
After 20 years of EOS, I'm at a Sony now and you just saved me one week worth of frustration! Thank you so much!
Never thought I will watch such a longer tutorial in youtube...but this was efficient and full of highly needed stuff. Well done, bravo...and thank you
The best simple yet complete , non boring , full of useful info and guide for the sony 7r3.......Amazing
THANK YOU! I just bought this camera and was a little overwhelmed as i switched from Nikon and things are so different on Sony. You have helped me immensely.
I just bought the AR3. I want to thank you a billion times for helping me tremendously. I used this tutorial from your AR73 and in some cases some of the stuff I had to move around a bit to find because Sony has moved it in the menus, but I will for sure be getting a good nights sleep tonight thanks to you! Just became a full time subscriber! Thank you thank you thank you!
Just picked up a a7r iii. This is the first video I watched to set up my camera. There's so many menu options, I would have missed many things.
Thank you for this detailed video.
I gotta say this setup guide is a blessing! I just switched from fuji and Ive been sweating bullets trying to figure this camera out. Without your video I would be soooooo screwed and struggling so much more! Thank u Thank You Thank You!
Just got my a7RIII today and found this tutorial. Thank you for the excellent job you did explaining the features of this camera. It was incredibly helpful and well done.
Post-production guy here, I'm new to hands-on video/photography work. Your videos have been a life saver. Thanks SO much and keep up the great work!
These full camera tutorials are GREAT! Thank you for providing these at no cost.
Tony, just got my A73, while the battery charged, I watched this tutorial. For God's sake, you have THE best content like this for getting people started, or advancing skills. Love your channel, recommend it often. Thanks for your great channel and keep 'em coming!
I'm a few years late, but I finally got this camera (used), switching from a Panasonic. HOLY COW! I had so many problems with it, it was automatically switching from AF to MF, the touch screen would work, then it wouldn't, I'd have to turn the camera off & on again to take the next picture. Then I found this video. All of the problems I was having were because of the lens (also used) -- don't ask me how, but when I switched to a different lens, everything started working exactly as you described it. Now, I feel like I have a really good grasp on how to get the most out of this awesome camera! Thanks so much for doing this! I know it was a lot of work, but it was extremely helpful!
Just got a Sony A7R4 and this video has helped me soooo much! Thank you! ❤️
You're great at showing / explaining techniques. I find myself searching through countless videos trying to figure something out, but not getting the information I need, until I find your videos. Thank you!
thanks so much for taking the time to make these. helped me with my first ever camera (a6300) and now again as i finally upgrade to a full frame. you guys to an awesome job and we're all immensely thankful for your efforts :)
Great tutorial. You were very detailed and thorough. You made it very easy to understand. I just purchased this camera and so far I love it. This video really helped me have a greater knowledge of my equipment. Thanks a million.
What a bonus video for my my latest toy, an A7Riii. Timeless setup tutorial for this amazing camera. Thank you.
Thanks for doing this. Been simultaneously configuring my new A7RIII while watching this. Just switched from Canon 5D MKIII.
I just picked up a new A7R3. This tutorial was the third one I watched and I wish it would've been the first! Absolutely AWESOME content. You earned a new subscriber here!
I bought a used one yesterday. It obviously hasn't arrived yet, but I feel prepared! 💪Thank you so much!
Mate. You communicate so well. I am “camera challenged” and you walk through things so well, that even I can understand. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this. Incredibly detailed and informative. I’ve just swapped my A7RII for an A7III and this was a big help in setting it up properly. Your books and training videos have helped with everything else. Many thanks to you both.
Don't even have this camera, love the video. Thanks
I just bought the a7III and this tutorial was really REALLY helpful. Thank you for sharing the knowledge!
“I’m going to assume you know how to use a camera, so I’ll be skipping all the basics”
7:52: “How to take a picture”
Just Fabulous Video & Tutorial...just bought a Sony A7Riii and went through the entire set up process with the help of this video...I guess I am now ready for shooting with the camera...Thanks a Lot for your great efforts & detailed explanations which are logical & very easy to follow as well 👍❤
Can’t thank you enough for this walkthrough. Just received the A7 III w. lenses as a gift and this got me ready in no time.
Been following this tutorial closely and this helped me setup and personalized all the buttons and menus that I regularly use. How Cool!
As Im relearning photography, consider this my Bible Tony, thank you so much
Thanks Tony, great tutorial. Learned a lot more than the time I played with A350K and A77. Coming from an APS-C to this camera I was a little skeptical, would be able to learn and use all features of my new A7R3 but your tutorial made it so easy that I find myself more familiar with A7R3 than the previous cropped ones. Thanks again and cheers!
I just purchased an A7riii, looked at your video a few times for help, instructions, in guidance, thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
This is so good! I am making the transition from the A7 to the A7RIII. You just made me save reading a boring owner’s manual. I especially like assigning the custom buttons: I shall pick exactly your choices!
Hello Tony, I just bought the a7Riii. Your tutorial was amazing and helped immensely. Thank You!!
After much deliberation, changed to Sony (A7r iii) from Nikon. What a difference. Wish I had done it earlier. Great video to get up to speed quickly with the new kit. Thanks
Tony I am from the the Midlands In the UK .
I have been researching to move to mirrowless the last few weeks from a Nikon D7200 and various Lenses
I just wanted to say how much I have loved your videos on you tube..absolutely the best I've found in everyway ...very helpful and entertaining and you have just a fantastic way of explaining stuff in detail without it being laboured or boring anyway im a subscriber now so thank you..I will also be purchasing some of your lightroom tutorials for sure
Best wishes Keith .
Still my favorite tutorial for the a7iii. I refer back to it all the time. THANK YOU!
Great video! This is thoroughly detailed! I just upgraded from nikon d5300 to sonu a7iii and man... i was stumped. You got me upto speed within an hours! Thanks once again.
You saved me hours of time on setup. The manual is good but a tutorial is 10 times better, thanks so much !!! Subscribed!
I am a Sony Production Camera Shooter for Film and a Nikon Shooter for Photography. I decided to Purchase the A7R 111 and see if it can be a good extra for 4K film and hopefully can adjust and be able to use it for Studio Work as well as all photography. I will not give up my Nikon as I have been shooting with one since I was 11 (in a studio). I enjoyed some of the tips I have seen for the initial setup and will continue with this video to see the rest of your setup procedure. Thank You for your hard work! Scott
You're amazing! I usually chuck the manual away and freestyle and explore my camera instead- but today!! I sat through 50 minutes of you guiding me and I've learned so much! the only reason why I stopped is because it's getting late and I need to sleep
This one of the best tutorial on UA-cam and thank very much and by the way I recently bought a new camera the Sony A7R iii and I face a lot of difficulties in setting my camera but that to your video I am so glad
Tony,
Great video as always. I just got this camera today 12/25/2022 from my wife. Earlier this year I sold all my Nikon bodies and lenses to KEH per your recommendation. I wanted to go mirrorless with new features.
Been away from photography a looong time (AE-1 anybody :)). Just got this with Tamron 28-75 and it's great, if a li'l overwhelming menu-wise. This vid. is a lifesaver. Great info/tips and easy to follow. Another great vid thanks guys.
Thanks a lot for getting me started with my new camera. All in one place and very clearly presented. You need a cold one after this marathon.
Excellent tutorial - simple to follow, signposts, menu demos, pace is just right, comprehensive - in short, extremely helpful to get me started with my new 7iii. THANK YOU so much for the lucid guide. One request, would help if you could have small 3-5 minute videos to demo some settings similar to the one you have for the back button focus, which was super helpful to get the practical application.
Thanks for the awesome review! Watched your 70D tutorial years ago and it helped me so much. I just switched to Sony and again your tutorials helps so much! Thanks~
Thanks so much! Coming over from Fuji this video really helped me quickly get my camera set up and out shooting. I cannot thank you enough! I would like to point out with Super 35 mode, another use of it is while recording video or shooting with the electronic shutter; it will give you a faster readout on the sensor and it should reduce rolling shutter.
Great information. I am moving from DSLR to full frame a7R3a and this will certainly help me get acquainted with my new camera. Thank you for the information.
You are the man. Nobody does instructional tutorials better than you..
I am a newbie for sony a7r iii. I heard your tutorial here and was very helpful. Thank you so much!!
I dont have the A7R3 but I still watched the whole video! Love Sony and Tony (they rhyme!) 😂
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I really appreciate you taking the time and effort to teach me more about my new camera.
Tony and Chelsea are flipping awesome! The amount of useful information you all dispense is so very appreciated!
Just switched from canon and this helped tremendously.
Amazing run through many settings, the choice of display blackout made my day. Have been using the camera a lot and seen so many settings an review videos but missed that function. Perfect for street when in silent mode and you don't want to be seen. Thanks, keep up the good work!
I have a Canon 1DX Mark II and this camera. I love them both. 1DX Mark II is wildlife and sports. A7R III is for people in my world.
I was thoroughly absorbed by this brilliant walk through when half an hour in, my missus made me turn it off so she could watch The Crown on Netflix. She'll not be using my A7Riii, that's for sure! :D
just invested in myself btw bought the ebook on how to create stunning photography, I'm excited about learning more on something i picked up as a hobby but now shooting important events
I regret not buying the Nikon Z series Mirrorless. This camera is a pain to hold. Thanks for the eye-opening tutorial. You are an absolute legend.
That was a beefy one WOW !!! Just occasionaly laying my hands on an Alpha 7R3, I thought it would be clever to watch your presentation... not a single regret. You can safely say it aged quite well, just as a good wine does. I know USA knows very little about aging selected wines, but trust me... in France, we know what it means to age for the better.
And your work was just this : better as time passes. Thank you so much for this Tony-Wiki video !
Thanks for all the info about settings. Just got my A7Riii yesterday so you saved me a lot of time setting up the camera. Thanks again!
Thanks for this video, Tony! I started out reading your stuff 7ish years ago when I got my first DSLR and have come back to you to learn each camera as I've upgraded and even used your video to pass my Part 107. THANK YOU!
Thanks Tony! I upgraded from the a6000 and this menu is nuts! It's going to be quite the learning curve. I appreciate the headstart.
This was absolutely fantastic, extremely generous of you to offer this free! I urge anyone who can afford to (which would be few photographers) to support the creator!
Hi Tony
You and Chelsea are by far the best. You know so much and make it very palatable to understand. I watch your videos all the time. I hope you will keep doing what you do best!! Thank you.
Love what you guys are doing. Your videos are so helpful in providing all the info needed to help get a beginner off to a good start in photography and video. To show my appreciation I will be purchasing your book, as I think it’s important content creators get compensated better for what they do. So thanks and keep it going!
Wow! Superb coverage of this complex camera. Thank you for this, it really helped me know my camera better. The table of contents is just a wonderful idea!
A lot of production mistakes in the video(Showing the 15-35 lens on the screen but talking bout th2 24-70 or Saying "Playstation" instead of PlayMemories ROFL) but i just found it cool and hilarious cause the video was probably super long to shoot and I could imagine the retakes. thanks for all the info! really helped a lot. This made me undestand my a7r3 even more. New subscriber here from the Philippines here!
I bought a7riii today really happy and big thanks to you brother for an awesome tutorial.
Thank you Tony. I was going to correct you on the Tabs being called Pages, but you corrected yourself at the end. A++ tutorial.
Thank you for this Tony! Very straight forward without any of the typical obnoxious distractions I found from others.
These videos are so damn good. First thing I do whenever I try a camera is watch Tony and Chelsea tutorial. You guys rock!
Absolutely one-stop-shop tutorials.. Love every bit of it!
Thanks for this..just got my camera today. Lots of Important information for my live music applications.
Thank you so much Tony. I just bought my A7r iii
I’m so excited.
But I’m actually sad I didn’t buy it a long time ago. So many photos would look better.
This is an excellent tutorial. I just moved from the G9 to the A7RIII! And I am very lost in the setting. Thank you.
Thank You Tony! finally a Sony A7RIII tutorial that doesn't suck!
Great tutorial for someone who has been shooting Canon for the past 37 years. My camera will be here on Monday. Can't wait!. I do, however, have to wait on the Sony lenses, until I sell my Canon stuff. So, I did buy the Metabones converter. Thanks for all the great tips. I will buy 3 of the ebooks w/ videos. Todd M. Bloomer, TMBPhoto
Thanks Tony.
I've been watching your tutorials and videos for some years now.
This one really helped me.
I just want to thank you for all the great content you give us.
Kind regards.
I just found your channel...and subscribed. Amazing content, professionally produced and edited. I'll never be able to remember all of these options I just programmed. lol. That's my problem. Now I'm ready to learn more about my Canon 5D Mark II's. I've had them a long time. Still learning....
