which 350z tail lights dont come plastic welded so I dont have to saw them?😅, I used to bake my civic tail lights and just pry the lenses off idk if this works for some z tail lights too
Oh ya it can be scary for sure! I would recommend practicing on a bad set first. Like a super old red lens halogen set. Especially if you can find one that’s cracked that no one wants, it would be perfect for practice
@@zaccook luckily my car came with the halogen set so I’m going to cut those first and then I bought a pair of LED ones those will be cut second and then my clear ones that I recently got will be cut third so I have four tail lights to practice on
hey how did you cut the inner side of the light? (the side with the 3 bolt bolt holes with the black plastic) did you cut straight down or at an angle?
It’s a bit of an angle, with the ultra sonic it’s actually pretty easy to not hit anything. But with the dremel you may want to tape the “fin” so it doesn’t scratch anything.
Oh man they must have changed the link. It was definitely the clear lens set when i made the video lol amzn.to/3nannbC This set is for sure clear lens black housing. I ordered from this one recently
Always coming in clutch with the videos
Thanks! Let me know what car would help ya out!
So good dude. You have a great personality for these too. You put the original cover back on right? I think I'll be doing this
Thanks!
Depends on what all I’m doing if it has a clear lens already then yep it’s going back on!
It’s if the red lens then it’s going in the trash 😅
Wish I had this 2 days ago cut my housing in half lol
Oh no haha 😂 that’s not good
Is this really the only way
You can attempt to bake them but all the builders who build z tails on a regular basis will tell that this way is the safest
What bit did you use to cut the lense not the diamond cutter the little one

Do you have any more videos with these lights ?
Yep! I built a set with an illumaesthetic kit in it
So nervous to do this 🫣 really nervous about the side where the black part is with the mounting holes, can’t really even see where the lense lays
Oh ya it can be scary for sure!

What’s the link for the ultra sonic cutter???
I actually don’t recommend the battery powered one anymore
We killed like 4 of them and then switched to this one

@@zaccook ok cool! I am using a dremel, would you recommend the blade you showed in the video or a smaller one to fit in the crack?
I personally like the diamond bit, it’s one of the thinnest i have seen but if you know of a thinner one then i say go for that one!
The link for the tails you put in the description says it’s a smoked lens is that the exact one you ordered?

There’s smoked and the chrome one with the red I believe those have the clear lenses
at the end at for step 9, so you paint black the inside of the housing on the cut line all around so it matches?
hey! we paint the out side of the lenses to hide the cut line
So we don’t need to put them in the oven?
😂😂
