      so its exactly what the manufacturer puts on the box, because the manufacturer already spent the same R&D. actually they spent MORE than linus, and have better equipment than linus and more people than linus, pretty much this has no purpose in the long run because its the same exact testing done by the original manufacturer, so why not stick to regular reviews and ACTUAL user reviews. not numbers and stuff, manufacturers already give us numbers.

      @@russiancommy Because validation is incredibly important. See Apple straight up lying on benchmarks. And Nvidia and AMD stretching the truth on benchmarks. Look at the Sennheiser HD 650, from a very reputable and respected brand and yet they list two different frequency response numbers on the product page. 10 Hz - 41,000 Hz and 12 - 41,000 Hz. Also frequency response should be represented as a graph with the frequency compared to the dB, nowhere to be seen from Sennheiser.
      Manufacturers cannot be trusted and for consumers to just blindly accept everything their told by manufacturers would just be stupid.
      This is an incredibly important step for Linus Tech Tips. They already do a lot of work similar to this but with less automation, less standardization, no published testing methodology, worse tools. This brings more in-line with companies like Gamers Nexus and Rtings, the second of which is a company that exists solely for testing and validation and yet they continue to run.

This is really really exciting, and I can totally envision LTT Labs being the pretty much the last word on every consumer hardware review in a couple years. I mean, just making the data public alone will be a game changer.

      When it comes to headphones and IEMs it's the third parties like Crinacle who perform the majority of public frequency response measurements. Basically it's thanks to his years of work measuring and reviewing audio gear that manufacturers now collab with him despite him technically not being an audio engineer. LTT audio lab is going to be a second large source of public FR measurements as well as a good source of other important data as mentioned. I'd recommend checking them both whenever you are considering buying audio gear, and checking Crimacle's two YT channels for more information about what are FR curves and how they are measured.

      @@willfarmer7351 last place to go usually has a negative meaning XD. But yeah, I hope that LTT can also get the community to give input as well. Mechanical, isolated testing is good and all, but a bit of human testing here and there would fill in some gaps in testing (things you can't test with just machines alone like different body builds or position of the body contributing to varying force applied to an object.) Of course the whole point of the lab is to "Test it first" for the consumers, but I'm certain there will be people who are MORE than willing to join in on the prospect of contributing to something good. Maybe even great.

    Hi Linus, I work with Fanuc robots daily. Here's my recommendations for a keyboard robot or otherwise:
    For a keyboard specific robot - I would recommend a Fanuc SCARA or Delta series robot (maybe $30,000-$50,000, not super sure). Extremely fast but must be caged off for technically safe operation.
    For a general 6-axis robot - I would recommend the time-proven LR Mate series (I think about $40,000). Also a speedy robot, but is a bit more flexible when it comes to applications. It also must be caged off for technically safe operation.
    For a general 6-axis cobot (human friendly) - I would recommend the CR/CRX series (also not sure but I'd guess $50,000-$60,000). These are "maintenance free" (sounds like "lifetime" motor oil to me but I could be wrong (oh yeah high-performance robots need maintenance just so you know)), slower, but much safer robots. As soon as they detect resistance, they will stop movement immediately. From my experience, companies with the CR/CRX series robots claim that they don't hold up over time.
    You can repair and service all but the CRX robots listed. So for example, once you're done or ready to replace your robot, you can probably sell for 20%-40% of their original value depending on condition (working in your environment, likely very good condition). I'm neither sponsored nor employed by Fanuc, but I wouldn't complain if they were tryna

      I don't know why you would sell a robot in industry though. Unless the factory is being repurposed the equipment should hold up fine, and even if the factory is repurposed, robots are flexible automation. If anyone can give me some pointers as to why producer would sell their robots let me know, I'm very curious.

    As much shit as people might give to Linus and Co for their ads and practices, you've got to give them props. They pay competitive wages enough to retain 80-something employees. They're supporting 80 some families (as honestly it seems like most of his employees have kids). It's not just some UA-camr money grabbing. He's doing good with that money, in a traditional economic way. He's not spending millions of company money on buying back stocks, that money is going back into his company and giving his employees a decent wage. It's better you can say about almost literally any public company these days

      @@calvinbunker8237 Well, we just went through a massive shift in employment, with people quitting and taking up better jobs during the pandemic, and add to that that the tech sector has traditionally been very competitive, and moving to another company is almost always better than waiting for a raise in that sector...the fact that we can recognise so many names when Linus does his tours, and know they've been around forever, speaks volumes. That's in addition to little things that Linus does for his employees on company dollars, like Summer of Fun, which is mind blowingly cool for a company to be doing, from my perspective with the companies I've worked for.

    • @Zyo117
      @Zyo117 Рік тому

      @Noel Pytlik No, but it's an example of how your average company wastes money. I'm not shouting absolute causation here, but there's definitely a corellation between when Ronald Reagan's government re-legalised stock buybacks (which when you think about it, is literally insider trading. A company can do a massive stock buyback just before they release a new product or what have you that they know is going to rise their stock price, and they can profit from it. That's literally insider trading) and the wage gap that's been steadily growing since then. The last company I worked for gave their employees at top wage (me) a 0.09% raise (while cutting hours) after two years of nothing during a period of massive inflation and after jacking their prices up significantly over that time period. They then spent $300m on stock buybacks to inflate their stock price. Frankly, that's absolutely normal in the business sphere these days and it's disgusting tbh.

I really hope you expand at least a little bit into the custom keyboard market, since I already saw some Keychron boards in this video.
