ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How To Improve Your Dogs Gut Health
Generally, the gut lining allows fully digested nutrients from the intestines to pass through it and into the bloodstream but keeping toxins, undigested food and everything else inside the gut.
However, as tiny gaps open up making the lining more permeable, it can no longer effectively filter out toxins, allowing them and undigested food particles to get into your dogs bloodstream, leading to leaky gut syndrome.
With this in mind here's five ways to begin healing your dogs gut health:
Step one is to feed your dog a quality powdered probiotic to build up healthy colonies of beneficial bacteria in the gut. This quickly brings down bad gas, diarrhea, bloat and other digestive issues. There's no prep, no fuss, you simply add a small amount to your dogs meals and watch what happens over the following weeks. And I'll leave a link in the description below and at the link above to the best probiotic product I know of.
Step two is to give your dog prebiotics to feed the probiotics already in the gut and help the gut bacteria produce fatty acids that protect the mucosal cells in the intestinal lining. The probiotic I discussed in step 1 also contains prebiotics.
Step three is to stop pharmaceutical drugs and medications and use the natural effective alternatives and I'll leave a link to a good book on Home Remedies for Dogs that covers exactly what you need for flea and tick control, deworming, natural antibiotics and reducing over vaccination.
Step four is to give your dog digestive enzymes to help break down the food your dog eats so the nutrients in the food can be more easily absorbed. Kibble fed dogs always need extra enzymes because commercial pet food has zero enzymes in it and a dogs natural supply is limited causing stress to the digestive system.
This also means your dog becomes undersupplied and susceptible to disease and break-down. Glands as well as major organs become stressed from enzyme deficiency and this becomes more visible as your dog ages and loses vitality.
If a dog has spent most of its own enzymes and isn’t getting any in the diet, and kibble fed dogs get none, their cellular function and health will rapidly decline.
And I'll leave a link to an excellent digestive enzyme in the description below and at the link above.
And Step five is to feed your dog a healthier diet. Diet plays a huge role in your dog's gut health and is the underlying cause of 9 out of 10 health problems in dogs from an unbalanced immune system.
Diet is the main underlying cause of leaky gut in dogs. Kibble is full of starch which leads to inflammation in the gut and other directly related health problems such as arthritis, allergy related skin and coat problems, digestive complaint, hot spots, diarrhea issues, yeast infections, ear infections and renal problems.
And it's diet, or more specifically, a kibble diet that's introducing too many bad bacteria and causing immune system imbalance that leads to the ill health problems mentioned.
I wrote a comprehensive ebook for pet parents feeding a kibble diet so they can manage a simple step by step process and boost their dogs kibble meals quickly and conveniently so the dogs gut health improves quickly and day to day health issues decline.
You'll find a link below in the description above explaining more about the Healthier Kibble Diet.

Hi Dan. Thank you for all the great advice. I’ve started my dog on Green Vibrance as you recommended for her lipoma. Should I also include the probiotic and enzymes you mentioned in this video for her overall health? She’ll be 14 soon and I love her dearly and I’d like to do all I can for her. Thanks again!

It's a great start. Add this to the mix as it's got different ingredients and works fast: amzn.to/3hwcsWm
Go by human weight of 150lb for dose, so if your dog is 50lb, that's a third scoop and so on.
If the gut problems are light you could skip it but it kicks in fast to repair gut health.

Good things to think about but what are natural probiotics/prebiotics? What are natural digestive enzymes?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  7 місяців тому +1

Probiotics are the good bacteria that live in our bodies, keeping our guts healthy. Inflammation kills these bacteria and leads to problems such as diarrhea and constipation.
Natural probiotics for dogs include foods like fermented vegetables. You can try foods like kefir, but if you do, it’s best to use water kefir to avoid potential dairy intolerances.
Probiotics promote overall dog gut health, help digest food, produce vitamins, help mood, balance PH, produce enzymes and support strong immunity to disease. Prebiotics are the food to sustain probiotics.
You can feed foods like garlic, bananas, apples, cooked mushrooms, Jerusalem artichoke, chicory root or asparagus to make sure you get the benefits of pre and probiotics for dogs.
The best food for dog gut health is a whole food, raw-meat based diet. Many dogs experience immediate improvements in dog gut health symptoms just by making this simple change. Raw green tripe is an excellent source of probiotics and digestive enzymes for your dog. It has living cultures of Lactobacillus acidophilus and amino acids.
Dogs with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) or dogs with excessive gas should not take probiotics daily. If your dog has chronic diarrhea or a digestive disorder, then a good multi-strain probiotic with gut-soothing herbs is a good choice.
If you’re giving probiotics for dogs as part of a preventative health plan, then you can give them most days. Soil based probiotics are typically a better choice for everyday probiotics since they are less likely to cause SIBO.

      What Are Digestive Enzymes?
Your dog naturally produces digestive enzymes in his/her body. Digestive enzymes aren’t the only enzymes your dog’s body makes … but they’re some of the most important ones for health.
Digestive enzymes are proteins that help break down food molecules into smaller pieces. That fuels the body by helping it take in nutrients more efficiently.
Enzyme names all end in “-ase.” The main types of digestive enzymes dogs need are…
      • Protease, which breaks down proteins into amino acids so the body can use them.
      • Amylase breaks down starches into smaller carbohydrate molecules.
      • Lipase helps digest fats in the diet.
      • Cellulase breaks down fiber from plants and grains. Your dog doesn’t naturally have this enzyme in his body.

Hi what can I give my Yorkshire terrier his gut there so many different products. Vet prescribes amoxicillin medication for diarrhea

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому

Don't use Amox. If your dog is bad with diarrhea, fats the dog 24hrs to clear the system, that's imp. Then give a light meal of either bone broth or some of the dogs normal food. If the normal food is just dry/kibble you must start adding in the following going forward:
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      And NO drugs, vaxx.
      BTW Amox causes diarrhea!

Problem with giving them enzymes is once you start to give them this , the body starts to slow down to make its own enzymes. This should only be done in the beginning to heal gut but once it’s healed, slowly take away. Heal gut then the gut will make its own enzymes
