ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
    =====
Dr. Katie Woodley, BVSc, GDVCHM, cVMA, is the proud owner and holistic veterinarian of The Natural Pet Doctor. After watching her own husband develop an autoimmune disease and be told there was nothing they could do other than strong immunosuppressive medications, Dr. Katie went down the path of holistic medicine. Becoming certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine changed everything for her pet patients. She started The Natural Pet Doctor after being in the conventional vet world for over 10 years to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care so they had all of the options. Her mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime that helps them thrive rather than just survive. Dr. Katie offers telehealth consultations to pet parents across the world and provides house consultations in the Northern Colorado region, along with online education through her courses, membership, UA-cam channel, Facebook, and Instagram.

Great video! I have an almost 7-year old Australian Labradoodle. She occasionally (not too often) gets what I think of as “hunger pukes” with bile in the mornings if her morning meal is late. This has been since she was a puppy. I just assumed this is due to an excess of stomach acid.

There are a few things you could consider to stop this.. May I recommend a Facebook group which has resources you can research. Its an educational group. Material from Dr Katey is just one vet that I love and share info from. When you're in Facebook, search for As Nature Intended.. mention this video and say hi

Love you Katie.. I've been using the three R's for many years in my group As Nature Intended, which who are a member of.
Another great video Katie to add to our collection. My dogs are great, but I love watching videos like this so I can help other pet parents who's dogs aren't doing so well.
I see a LOT of problems with kibble fed dogs and when I recommend raw meaty bones, I seem many putting them down because they've had a bad experience with them and their lovely vet has told them NO RAW BONES! What these vets aren't educating these clients with is what their dogs problem actually is... I'm beginning to wonder if many vests simply do not know and its easier for them to say NO RAW BONES.
    Thank you so much!!
Oh hey.., While I'm here, is there any chance you could do a video on dogs with seizures> I'm researching this at the moment and learning heaps, but I would love to see a video from you on any natural protocols that can assist in managing them, or helping the dog before, during and after a seizure.
    Thanks again

@@thenaturalpetdoctor I'm in Australia and been looking for a goldenseal product and also mushrooms... what do you recommend, a glycerine based tincture (I don't like alcohol) or powders? And where could I get some guidance for dose in the goldenseal?

    Great info !!!!!!
Been years since we used "flea products", or "tick products", or even "heartworm products".
Back when we still did use them, we often supplemented with Milk Thistle to off-set the Negative side effects. A lot of time, the Negative effects were similar to the Sensitive Stomach issue.
It's one of the ways that we started to Wake Up 😉

Glad you found it helpful! Crazy right? When I first became a vet, I used those products too and kibble. Then I realized I could do so much better for my pets. It's been a game changer!

Thanks for this video! If my dog has recurring calcium oxalate bladder stones and sometimes vomits bile in the morning before eating, is it safe to use chlorophyll complex? Is there a specific brand to use and which mg amount do we look for on the bottle? Can we use ones for humans or are there specific ones for dogs?

Why would a canine be on an acid blocker if they are not producing enough stomach acid? I'm not a vet, my patients are of the 2 legged variety. This seems as it would be contraindicated ? I would assume the blocker would be prescribed by the vet on a case by case basis and that particular patient wouldn't benefit from a supplement that increases acid production .🤷🏻‍♀️

Great information. I'm curious to understand if these supplements will aid adding missing gut bacteria in my pets gut. The animal biome test revealed she is missing bacteria groups 0 value other than Firmicutes which are dominant. She is really small Chihuahua mix and there is no way I can feed her the doggy Biome capsules for FMT. What are the alternatives to introduce the missing bacteria into her system. Our vet gave us a S Boulardi supplement which is good, but how do we add the missing bacteria groups?

Thanks for your comment and watching our video. There is a lot that goes into the gut health. We recommend AnimalBiome tests to understand how to assess gut health. But we also have a 21-day gut health challenge to help your dogs achieve better gut health and dive deeper into how to optimize gut health. Here's the link if you want to check it out: thenaturalpetdoctor.mykajabi.com/challenge

@@thenaturalpetdoctor Thank you. My dogs have already been on home cooked an raw diet combined since 2021. I tried Just for Dogs for awhile but that didn't work well too. After watching your various videos and with some help from the book Yin and Yang nutrition for dogs I have designed a home cooked diet for them. They love the home cooked food more but there are days like today when Mochi won't eat in the morning. I'm just worried and unsure if pure diet & supplements can fix such a severe gut biome without a fecal transplant. Thanks for the link to the challenge.

Love your channel! Sometime do a video on how good training is important to our dogs too. Not just because they behave, but because good training helps lower stress and helps them deal with stress, to name just one health benefit. Would love if you subscribed to my channel too! I have lots of dog videos.
