Less than 1% of veterans in need of a service dog receive one each year. Together, we can be a part of the change. I invite you to watch the NY Dog Film Festival's winning short film, available on Dog Chow's UA-cam channel (ua-cam.com/video/aaXoy7ncJEY/v-deo.html). For every view it receives through Veteran's Day, Nov 11, Dog Chow will donate $5 to the Association of Service Dog Providers for Military Veterans to help veterans in need.
This needs to be a movie so people can understand what a service dog is and does cuz when I do out to places and there's a service dog there I see or hear people ask if they can pet the dog and the owner says no and the people get mad and want to fight them I also see videos like that on IG
YES! So glad you are moving from aerospace to the short film space. When I founded Operation22 to support and save veterans considering suicide, I was introduced briefly to the vital role service dogs play for so many of our Soldiers, past and present. Love this message and fanastic delivery 👏👏👏
This is Shannon Walker founder of Northwest Battle buddies, Sam what an honor to have you and your team showcase Scott And Nikki! You told her story beautifully. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤
God Bless Service Dogs and their trainers. I was not in the service but I ALWAYS have had at least 2 dogs. Their love is everlasting !! Thank You to ALL who have served as well as all WORKING dogs.
One of my favorite short films. Awesome job Sam. Always inspired by your creativity. I just shared this with a close friend of mine who did two tours of Iraq and got some emotion out of him that he has struggled with showing. This short film did something amazing. Thanks again.
Hi Sam! My Son is also an Air Force Academy Graduate. He experienced a lot while on his tour. When he came home he needed some help to raise up from those experiences. He has had a PTSD service dog for several years. It's a blessing for him and his family. Thank you for you work and dedication.
How has this only got 9 thousand views! This has brought a tear to my eye as its something i am personally dealing with. Good work Sam and Shannons team!
I personally would not change my cat for a service dog but I am also not a combat veteran. I think service animals and emotional support animals are such a big deal to anyone struggling with PTSD especially when they are so triggered that they begin to self isolate. Love the message and I didn't realize that so few veterans actually receive a service animal.
I am a combat veteran and I am currently going through training of my 2nd psychiatric service dog. 15 years ago my 1st one basically saved my life, because through him I was able to comfortably get out again. being in a wheelchair I also need my dog to be close to me. so small is better, the 1st one was an Irish Jack Russel, my 2nd is a 3 year old beagle mix adopted from a shelter or I should say he chose and adopted me.
I have 2 GSD's that were essential in my recovery from cancer and sepsis. While it was touch and go for a bit as to if I would continue on this earth, my faith, my family and my 2 wingmen never left my side. Now 3 years cancer free, I have more to be thankful for than you know. My fur missiles were the calm in the storm. Dogs are truly amazing. I'm eternally grateful for the love and companionship. Go treat your dog(s) to a special treat today. Service dog or not, thank them for all they do for you. While you're at it, tell them "The Gunny" and "Odie" said hi. 🐾🐾 -PhantomF4G

A great short film, and I adore dogs. However, the downside is dogs don't live forever, so there will be a time when someone will lose their service dog, and then they'll probably be more devastated than they were before.
Northwest Battle Buddies commitment to each veteran in their program is that when their dog retires from service they will replace their dog with another trained service dog at no cost. NWBB is a truly remarkable organization ❤

Dogs really are mans best friend. Great video to raise awareness on this
Thank you, from a personal experience I know what a dog can do for a person. Saved my life. Her name was Bliss a black lab. I pray for you all

Amazing story and great cinematography! Well done, Sam and team. ❤
