    Peppering players with your minigun from across the map is actually surprisingly effective at creating space and discouraging flanking scouts from approaching or harassing your team if you can do It without risking much and aim properly. 25dmg every second or so is nothing to scoff at when anyone but a sniper can't deal much damage in return

    Just like your guide for beginners, this video goes into too much technical detail and too little actual guidence. A good tip is like "when in doubt, default", it tells you what you should do then explains it a little. The worst one by far is the random bullet spread; it is just a technical dump without telling them what you should do. Love your channel❤ and sorry if I seemed harsh.

    Should point out the correction: while wrangler is good on passively playing engie, battle engie or even just one that moves around a lot will find a great use in the stock pistol. It adds ranged damage and is also especially handy for when your primary doesn't do enough whooping (rescue ranger, critless frontier justice, widowmaker when you run out of metal). Wrangler is a good sidegrade, but still not omnipresent, unlike the crossbow.
    Anyway, this video has good information, and will be really useful for newcomers.

    • @scarybroccoli
      @scarybroccoli  Місяць тому +2

      They are exactly the same, unless the gravitational field acting upon the object (in this case a TF2 merc) is not uniform. We are talking game physics here so tje simulated gravity is just a constant so they are interchangable.

    • @corey5894
      @corey5894 7 днів тому +1

      Kill the medic, especially if they're healing a heavy, soldier, demo, or pyro. You don't have enough dmg output to kill an overhealed player, but the medic will die quickly. Other options are to airblast one away (off an edge), airblast their projectiles into the med, or run. If you don't an opening to get the med, wait for a teammate, try to flank, or find a new target

    I feel like you delved too much into spy and not enough into maps, game modes and positioning by class. You could have skipped the trickstabbing segment entirely if you just said “spy likes to be in melee range of his enemies, don’t be in melee range of a spy” which you did but you didn’t say anything about other classes like engine generally wanting to be NEAR the main fight but not at the main fight. Soldier and scout wanting to be on the frontline whilst demo generally wanting to stay slightly behind them to give his stickies time to arm. Again, knowing the map you are playing on and where the health and ammo pickups are on those maps is arguably a more important thing to know that spy has a lot of tricks tabs. At least go over the most common maps like upward,2fort, dust bowl and harvest. Explain how the game mode works for each side and show off some important sight lines, flanks and health/ammo locations.

    I actually disagree with random spread having not purpose. Its a complicated argument but there are some reasons why random shotgun spread actually increases the skill ceiling and reduces randomness in game outcomes. Obviously there are counter arguments to this too and the comp scene fell on the side of turning it off. But its a much more nuanced topic than something like random crits.

    • @Linkman8912

      Wait what? I can't imagine it being less cut and dry than random crits. Please elaborate.

    • @scarybroccoli
      @scarybroccoli  Місяць тому +4

      I cannot fathom a reason for why. Landing what would be a 60 damage shot that ends up doing 9 is the exact same random BS that makes people hate random crits. I can play devil's advocate and think of pro random crit arguments but can't for random spread.

    • @thurtik5251
      @thurtik5251 Місяць тому

      They do have a reason to exist, but "increasing the skill ceiling and reducing randomness" isn't it. The reason why they exist is to limit the shotguns' effectiveness and reliability at range, and to encourage players to get up close to their enemies as at close range the randomness gets almost completely nullified. And while yes, disabling random bullet spread doesn't remove the bullet's deviation, it makes it predictable and abusable which inherently increases their effective range and goes against the shotguns' intended design.
