I can't remember if Oro got his double jump in Second Impact or Third Strike, but I do know he didn't always have it. I like the reference to lore in this video as Oro in one of *the* strongest characters in the Street Fighter universe. Oro and Akuma met at one point, looked each over, and just walked away because they knew that if they fought at "full power" neither of them would live to tell about it.
Oro got it on 3rs strike. Imo he Playa way different in precious versions of Sf3 allmost none of his go 2 moves from 3rd strike works there. His command grab from new generation for example does insane amount of damage
@@Disvoidal Yep, but they did not completely go out. The original comment was partially right, as they realized that continuing would lead to their possible demise.
Great video as always. Here's a few additional notes on Oro: - Command grab combos from st.mk & cr.mk which can sometimes be preferable over st.mp after an AA parry because hitting mp as a punish after parrying from block can result in a medium fireball whiffing over the opponent's head. There are other good uses for this cancel as well: comboing cr.mk xx command grab after an air reset is a good way to blow up high parries expecting Oro to do another st.mp. For oki, cr.mk xx command grab, throw, and instant j. stomp is a three-way mixup that blows up parries and throw attempts, although everything but throw carries pretty high risk. - Doing jump-in stomps really low to the ground is a true mix-up with jump-in throw, with really high reward. - Oro can actually set up unblockables vs the entire cast, but the setups required for Hugo and *grounded* twins are much more difficult, and in the case of the twins, the setups required do not build enough meter to keep the loop going indefinitely. Against airborne twins, a regular st.mp xx stomp loop usually works. - During the part of the video talking about Oro being hard to optimize, where Oro cancels the second hit of st. mp into SA2, there was actually still an unblockable setup available by dashing in, walking a little to keep the booger on Akuma's back, and timing an instant j.mk with Akuma's wakeup (the Kuroda setup). This would have triggered another unblockable and would give Oro enough time to land and continue the regular loops. - Something that wasn't shown off here is that Oro's 3-stone SA3 is an excellent corner pressure and chip tool, where you can easily whittle away half the opponent's health with lows, overheads, and just repeated st. light kicks. Edit: Also Oro's dick is visible during his sweep animation.
Shoutout to the scene by scene gameplay recorder and script writer... Really good production and seamlessly put together. Also those crisp video overlay edits along with the thumbnail + intros are incredible. Top editing! And great job on the narrating as always Arya.
These videos are strangely entertaining! I played the game when I was very young with my friends and we didn't have a clue what we were doing but loved it anyway! Thanks for the overviews, always nice to have a feeling of nostalgia 🧙♂
I know people who absolutely hate the term "hit grab" with every fiber of their being I always say to them "If you come up with a better term, I'll use that instead, but when I say "hit grab", even though you're mad, you know what I mean. That's effective language" They could never come up with a better term that stuck
Thanks alot. I've been waiting every day for a new update and today it was time for my favorite character in the game 😃 It was great and touched on the majority of topics, would be nice if you added that he is the shortest along with Chun and there for alot of attacks whiffs him or like you showed he can duck under fireballs like Uriens ex for example. Great job 👏 keep up the good work 💪
Third Strike Oro is my single favorite fighting game character. Although your video was great, you didn't mention his secret super arts for I & II (the big grab & the 'spirit bomb')
Kuroda actually put this character as 2nd best, just above Yun. I believe him. Oro is a menace if you play him patiently and... turtle... like.. his win pose suggests...
This guy has an interesting playstyle. I don't really get why his strength in the lore makes people so happy, I guess Capcom should publish an official power level scale and they would be even happier.
The thing that hurts Oro the most is his bad ranged punish options. And his bad lows. Those are the two most consistent weaknesses in the roster. Oro gets immense rewards off close parry, but damn near nothing off far parry. It doesn’t help Oro struggles to build bar with normals due to them all being poke buttons so he’s not getting you to rush to him like the shotos or even some of the borderline characters like Alex and necro.
Ever since you stated you'd make the characters appear in order of strength I've been waiting on Alex and as a newcomer to this game... I'm starting to get scared for my man
if you dont mind spoilers: alex isn't the worst, but he isn't great. He has some solid tools, its just that its awkward sometimes to try to convert them into real pressure. Something really rough for a lot of characters in 3s is that a lot of the good characters can punish their moves with supers, even on block. For example if you do EX elbow on chun li, if she has a bar you're losing like 40% of your health if she blocked it.
Does anyone know how to block Oro's low hitting *chicken kick* aka *Jinchu Nobori* (that hits right on the last possible moment of him landing on the ground)?

These videos have all been terrific. Looking forward to seeing Ibuki tomorrow!

I love Oro that Yagyou Dama super is so krazy! :)

Just a semantics thing, but what Oro has would usually be referred to as a Hit Grab rather than a command grab.

Because both of those are pretty useless
I love the stage transition
ah yes my secondary main fun character too
but looking forward most to the next character since ibuki is my main keep up with the great content!
I was never a very good 3rd Strike player, but oro was my mine. So much fun and suprises with those amazing jumps, juggles and supers.
Omg its Bafael's main.
Also, SFV Oro has hax and Blanka chan stone is best stone.
I hope Oro will appear in sf6, together with Urien

Because most of the strongest characters are evil. Where Oro is morally ambivalent. Makes it more interesting to have that.
You know that Oro has his two hands when you switch sides.
Sick!
i think i finally found my main

You block it normally but it is an overhead so you have to be standing or it will hit regardless of you blocking or not.
