- Susan Tedeschi and Sharon Jones duet on "Bring It On Home To Me" at their Spotify Session in NYC. With Derek Trucks, Binky Griptite and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, Tim Lefebvre on bass and JJ Johnson on drums.
And for four minutes and eighteen seconds, all was right in the world. Rest easy, Sharon.
Most true statement on UA-cam
So true.

This is how perfect vocals sound! Missing Sharon Jones gone way to soon. RIP my sister
Amen
Amening that Amen!
Bless her....
It is pure magic ... simply amazing how vocally connected they were. We have this as a reminder of how amazing Sharon Jones was.
Thank you ! Having a brain farther I could not remember her name for the life of me .
This duet is an absolute American treasure. Non-comparable.
Perfectly worded.
Incomparable 🙃
@@kathybutler8383 haha... right, that’s what I meant.
Ya know, music (American) is one of the the things we can give to the world proudly!
Amen
No disrespect to the legendary Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls, but this is the best version of Bring it on home to me that I've heard. RIP Sharon Jones.🔥🔥
The first time I heard Sharon Jones I remember thinking - Where has this been all my life? Gone way too soon. I miss her!
Sharon Jones was a light and a blessing who will never be duplicated. I have seen 100's of performers and none compare to her energy & vocal talent. God bless her and rest her beautiful soul.
@@Amimi_9051 love your comment, rest in peace. Sharon Jones.
I still feel like she’s around.
Caught one SJDk song on ACL. Instant fan, I made it to six shows. Sharon Jones was power, energy ,beauty and soul .
She only released her first music @ 40. She shined brightly for about 20 years. Thank God for the tech which enables us to relive her performances
Just found this cover through the official Sam Cooke page. Wow, it’s absolutely beautiful, brought me to tears. RIP, Sharon.
Jesus that's an immense amount of talent on one stage. Miss you badly Sharon, thank you for all you gave us.
Susan and Sharon make fantastic music with their vocals, Sam Cooke would be mighty proud. I've been a fan of Susan Tedeschi for nearly 50 years and admire her blues soul enormously. She's got grit, she's a Mom, and she's been a dedicated woman of the blues. At the top, or very near to it--of the blues today!
You must have spotted Susan really early. She's 53 :)
@@ersp1was thinking the same thing😂
God rest her kick ass soul. Sharon Jones was a fn treasure!!!!!
you may go on and on about derek's slide, and you would be justified and then some. but to me, Susan is a national treasure. Sharon and her sound so great together here.
imo she's the best singer on the planet! She can sing everything
Someone pointed out that they thought Susan was Bonnie's lost daughter. I don't think they were far off the mark.
@@moxiemusic3739 And she is can play guitar!
Song bird
Like peanut butter and jelly. Such a sweet sound.
My wife and I had the opportunity to bring some friends to see TTB on the waterfront in Boston when Miss Jones (who at the time had recently beaten cancer) was on tour with them. Miss Jones was amazing, so full of life dancing with so much energy throughout her entire show, and man could she sing. Sadly within the next year or I seen where the cancer had returned only for her to lose the battle. R.I.P. Miss Sharon Jones, it was truly an honor to see you preform.
My son took me to that show! Outstanding! Beautiful evening and Sharon Jones was beyond infinity and TTB wasn't too bad either. One of the best shows I've been to in over a decade.
Had the pleasure of seeing her in Winnipeg Manitoba a few years ago. Awesome performer she was. We missed out on JTE that night though.
No matter how many times I watch this, it's the Best! It transcends time! It's Blues that make you feel it deep down in your soul!
It's amazing how well their voices compliment eachother.
cuddly bear. this song is built on the push and pull between the vocalist and the backup singer. the original by sam cooke has lou rawls as the backup and that's the original and still the best. i have yet to hear this song by anyone that i don't like. listen to it by the commitments on another video.
This is a heartbreaker. Not fair that Sharon Jones is no longer with us.
One the most incredible duets of all time. Absolute bliss listening to this ❤
I realize this upload is three years old, but I keep coming back to it. It’s hard to describe just how good this is.
I didn't think anybody could beat Sam Cooke's version with Lou Rawls on background vocals. This is a real gem.
Also loved the Animals version from the mid sixties with Eric Burdon’s amazing vocals. But I don’t think I’ve heard a bad rendition of this song
It dont get any better than this -- great respect among these musicians for each other -- no egos just raw talent
Soulful, heartfelt simply amazing ladies, and lest not forget Derek, Binky, Doyle, Tim, and JJ. Old Hippie Cape Town.
This is all the world needs
Derek Trucks never ceases to leave me dumbfounded after one of his leads. The whole group was hopping here, Susan and Sharon were a duo from Heaven. R.I.P. Sharon Jones
Oh my sweet Lord, this is pure sustenance for the soul. Glorious. Aural sunshine. Thankyou. And my God, we miss you Sharon.
I cannot agree more. It feeds my soul.
Sam cook would be proud. Yes indeed. ♥️🙏🏽
We love you and miss you Miss Sharon, RIP hun. Beautiful vocals by these two.
Sharon is so deep, rich, powerful and yet so clear and then here comes Susan bringing that soulful smoke to bring it all together. I’m crying because Sharon is gone and smiling because I can hear this for the rest of my life. Thank you Sharon and Susan. Simply incomparable!
The sheer enjoyment on Sharon's face when Derek plays that intro....absolute joy....Oh yes.
Tedeschi does it for me... What a strong voice, bluesy picker, hard worker, Mom, superhero
Total super hero
Outstanding vocals from both singers and a vocal BLEND in air that producers dream about...
Oh My! That's good stuff!!! RIP Sharon.
This made me smile from the inside out😃
There should never be any dislikes when it comes to TTB, unless you have no soul! Such an incredibly talented group and extremely humble which is hard to find these days!
Agreed
They're wonderful musicians and beautiful people for sure, just what we need to chase these blues of our times away!👍💖🎸😎
Some peoples thumbs only go down or up their ass.
Ha ha y'all got to the point 😂😂😻✌️
Jason DeJong right, such a moving performance 😎👏
Those two women are so amazing individually, but the obvious mutual admiration creates a work of art. Love the way they share and play off each other. From the very first notes I'm already smiling, and very soon dancing along. 🥰💕🎶🎤🎤
It still blows me away after seeing this few years later, same amount goosebumps, same cold chills and this makes me SOOOOOO happy - Thank you for this pure magic and extra respect for ms Sharon Jones, may she rest in peace she was, no still is a LEGEND!
I'm fortunate to have seen Miss Jones and Dap Kings 6 times.. Including twice in 4 days when SJDK toured with TTB..
WOW! What an epic lineup! Consider yourself blessed!
Yes yes yes yes I'm watching this again. Harmonies so good. Singing a classic from the past.
Absolute perfection!
Wow I am a huge Tedeschi/Trucks fan but I’ve never seen this before..!! Damn some powerful vocals happening on that stage ...Sharon sounds amazing ..!!!!
Listened to this performance for like the 20th time and love it more each time. Phenomenal version of this song.
Hi from Australia by the way,,, It’s not just the awesome vocals or the fantastic musicians but what really makes this version special is that you looked like you were all having fun doing it, great job guys. 👍👍👍
The opening lines in thick, rich toned harmony made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, & my eyes well up.
Forget the blinkered industry & their lack of recognition Sharon...
you're truly recognised by the one's that matter.....
us, your adoring fans of the soul-funk Dap grooves.
Just a crying shame we won't get to hear your beautiful voice on new tracks.
But you've left a legacy of golden tunes for us to lap up forever more!!!
Smile down on us girl, & inspire us to make the music to go on forever.
God bless you Sharon, truly missed. ❤

Impossible not to keep watching after that intro.
That man can play!
Oh my word. The hair on my neck is still upright !! Music just doesnt get any better. I have only recently discovered Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks ( I know, where have I been? ) So sad to hear of the death of Sharon Jones, what a talent, what a voice. In the middle of this pandemic, music like this lifts the soul and brings everyone together. Bring it on.
Beautiful vocals.
Guitar solos extraordinare.
Those ladies put a smile on my face big time : )
Everyone on stage is just like they are hanging out, but they are creating a level of music that the rest dream of.
Fantastic that's the only word to say about this version of a great classic 🎤🎶🎸
Wonderful to see this. Sharon I miss your sweet music. So sad youre not around anymore.
This may be two of the best soul singers of all time! I only found this today and it blew me away. I miss Sharon a lot, but thankfully she lives on in her recordings.
God bless Sharon RIP. Thanks for all the music guys!
This is amazing! Sharon Jones was an unbelievably talented singer and together wine Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks they are perfect. Sad Sharon Jones is gone 💞
There must be, has to be, a rock and roll heaven.

Oh this was the song Mr.Soul, Buzz Thompson of Peterborough Ontario Canada sung the very best.
May he Rest in peace.
This rocked my Palm Sunday morning for sure.
Missing him more than ever now.
Great version.
But no one ever sings this song as good as Mr.Soul. no he sung this song from the bottom of his Soul.
Peace, love and health be with you all.
Take care.

This makes my spine tingle. Wonderful.
This band is the best. They never cease to amaze me. Also, I like the fact that Derek stills plays that lovely SG.
I just love this, When I was in a band decades ago we had a singer who had real mojo. He passed recently and Geez I miss him. David Peak from South Australia you were the man, I wish you were still with us.
Everything about this is perfect.✌️
Susan and Sharon duetting was the BEST. Man oh man I miss you Sharon. RIP, beautiful lady. Thanks for sharing this. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Lord! My merciful, almighty, all-knowing sweet good Lord, Thank You for creating people as sensitive and talented as Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Sharon Jones.
This performance gives me chills. Just incredible.
More than just a music. A relief for these days. Beautiful
Wow. Absolutely incredible music and talent from everyone on that stage. Susan and Sharon together blows the mind. RIP Sharon. 🌻
It's impossible to wipe the smile off my face from watching this
Not two hours ago I was thinking about my three favorite songs of all-time, "Bring It On Home To Me," being one of them. I tried to think about where I first heard the song and came to the conclusion it was through Tedeschi Trucks Band with Sharon Jones, this very recording right here. Bring up UA-cam a few minutes ago and BOOM right at the top is this joyful video of that session. Call serendipitous, call it kismet, I just have share the most heartwarming moment of my day. Rest in power, Ms. Jones! Stay safe out there TTB Fam! Cheers!
@Mare Leahy Bit of a kid over here (hitting 30 in April). This song is unquestionably timeless and you just can't beat Sam's version... Though Susan and Sharon come close!
Cheers young man 👏👏🎸🤘✌️
@@jdh152 Sam s voice could help lighten the load . This is a great , honest, heartfelt version.
@@jdh152 hi, late to the game here.....next time u listen to mr. cooks version.....that deep voice echoing back the "yeahs" is none other than Mr. lou Rawls
Was so hoping you would name your other two favourites. Eric Burdon did a great version of this too but imo Sam is king.
I feel very fortunate to have seen SJDK six times live. Including back to back with TTB. Love Miss Jones' power !!
I’m jealous for me, but really happy for you! 🙏🏼💖🕊
@@reemclaughlin4260 power strong and honest.. channels surfing I found her on Austin City limits. Instant fan.

Missing you;. Miss Jones 🎶
Makes me smile. Makes me appreciate music in it's rawest, purist form. Brilliant.
Wow!! Miss Sharon Jones RIP. What great harmonizing
Dear Lord this is perfection!!!
Until now, my fave cover of this classic was by The Animals, but this blows that right out of the water!. Awesome beyond description. The band are amazing but the gutsy vocals by Susan & Sharon lift things up to the very highest level possible.
I was so fortunate to see Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings on their EU tours and it was an amazing experience. She had to go too soon!
One of my favourite songs of all time - this is a great version
... i was looking for "bring it on home" but got this instead. what a pleasant incredible surprise!

Great video. Sharon Jones was a real treasure.
Dang, but those two voices sound sweet together!! ❤
Such joy in this one, fabulous
Guitar player kicking ass on his SG. These women did this song beautifully.👍
Derek trucks referred to as guitar player 😂😂 classic. One of the best slide players. Apart from Duane Allman.
Simply glorious
This was beautiful, thank you Ms. Sharon Jones God bless you and may you Rest Peacefully. The voice of an angel with you and Charles Bradley adding to the band heaven must be one hell of a party. Thank you for your legacy you will be forever missed but always remembered.
