There is actually another vague reference to FF2 in Bozja's Zadnor area with the Critical Engagement called "Here comes the cavalry" where it takes the concept of FF2's very first battle against Dark Riders. Sadly it does not play any familiar battle music to accompany it but i thought it was a nice little thing to see reused as an encounter.
The Raid Pandaemonium focus on the Character Lahabrea, whose name reference a Scion of Light in FFXII opposed to the Esper Mateus, whose name is taken from the Emperor Mateus Palamecia of FFII, ruler of Pandaemonium
I also think that Emperor Varis design is inspired from Emperor palamecia from ff2. Different color schemes but similar spiky crown and shoulder pads and long blond hair.
That Pandemonium music is sick!!! Note also that FFII is the game that first introduced the Dragoon and Dark Knight jobs and also the first one that features Leviathan and Chocobos (and chocobo theme) I also recall from memory, isnt the Dreadnaught the imperial airship in FFII as well as the garlean ship in heavensward? the huge one that docs in Asys-Lla? That is a big one you missed there
Yeah, there’s quite a few I missed especially with these earlier videos, but I absolutely appreciate all the comments and I’m definitely taking note of all of them!
2:44 the music not only can hear from battle, you can also hear the music in ocean fishing when you trigger the spectral weather

They also use the name of Hilda for a Heavensward NPC, who is badass!

@@Autobalance No problem at all!! thank you for making these videos, I am loving this series!
In 2.0 if you put the audio in Japanese, you can hear the empire being called Paramecia in one of the first cutscenes of it.

Emperor as final boss in pandaemonium raid
One point to be made is at its core, the plot of Stormblood is literally the basic plot of FF2.
Are you going to do a follow up once all of Pandaemonium is finished?
4:00 btw, where is that version of the pandemonium music from?
That is the pixel remaster version of Pandemonium!
@@Autobalance Woah thanks!!! I have yet to play the pixel remasters, I had no idea the music was so good!
