I really like the music comparisons because I recognize all of these in FFXiV and when you play the original versions its pretty awesome to draw the comparison.

Just had my Steam Deck OLED the other day and by far, it's the superior way (for me) to play FF14. Been playing it on PC for 2 years and played it on the PS5 recently. I realized how chill and relax playing XIV with a controller and on a couch with your TV, but it's something that you need to get use to. Now with a Steam Deck, I can play FF14 in bed and on the go!

A few things you missed here: - Pandemonium, the whole thing being a reference to the final dungeon of FF2 if only in name. - The Pandemonium Boss (that looks like a deformed Metal Face) uses Ultima, that has an animation faithfully recreated from post-NES versions of FF2. : 3

I had to watch this again because I love these reference videos. Just to note: The Onion Set you can get from Quick Ventures in FFXIV is still active. I've actually gotten one a few months ago, and I've even gotten the full set over the course of the last year. For some reason, the drop rate seems to have either increased, or they removed certain items to make those have a higher chance to drop.

Just a thought, they could integrate FFX into XIV by using the lore of what the aeons are to give the primals continued existence an explanation. Something like following Ysayle's example and combining it with the new 'safe' summoning method to create primal guardians to stop random summonings by keeping each primal linked to an individual just as the aeons/fayth are one in the same.

There's a few stormblood dungeons that drew from FFX in aethetics and glyphs. Some cloiser of trials vibes. Mainly Temple of the Fist and the Drowned City of Skalla. While spoilerly, if doing an update; in Dawntrail, some of the fight music, plays into that random enounter music intro.

So many memories. Part of me, misses deeply the time spent on XI, seeing paralells, or missing certain aspects while in XIV. San d'Oria my first home. Though when Turmoil played, the PSTD of then current content of CoP era and 75 Limubs days flashed before my eyes. I certainly hope they plan on letting XI people recapture those memories properly with the Vana'diel raids.

the pre rendered cutscenes in ff4 3d remake are really choppy on my steam deck regardless of the proton version i use.

Mystic Quest needs some love. While not the best or deepest FF game I always felt it shouldn't get the hate it does.

I'm just so happy that the FFXVI Producer was so eager to work with FFXIV's Producer to get the XVI crossover collab into the game so quickly!
