Eternal Wind definitely plays a lot in FFXIV due to it being one of the major NPCs of Shadowbringers' leitmotif.

Thank you guys for the support! I never thought I'd hit 1k views at all for this video so I'm really glad that this video did well! I hope everyone is having fun with Endwalker! I finished the story and I'm working on the FFIV reference video now!

I'm late to the party but it's well deserved. These videos are amazing, thanks for compiling all of this.

it should be worth mentioning that the second fight with the cloud of darkness isnt necisarily based on her dissidia form considering that her art in dissidia is based on amanos original artwork

Really nice video series, thank you!
Just an addon to the stuff about the onion doublet set, I obtained a piece shortly after Endwalker released from a quick venture, so if it was removed its back in that table, I've been sending out 6 retainers on quick ventures regularly since Stormblood and this was the first time I'd obtained a piece after what must be getting into the tens of thousands of quick ventures easily.

The Onion Helm from the 1.0 CE is actually still obtainable! You just have to be lucky enough to track down an unused code. A friend had an unopened copy of the 1.0 CE gifted to them for Christmas last year and offered it to me. Surprisingly the code still worked when I used it on the account website.

I am one of those 1.0 CE owner but hated 1.0. Good thing my code works for 2.0

As of patch 6.45. we can add Goldor to this list! He appears in the Masked Carnivale as a boss.

The end of shadowbringers song taken from ff3 plus the cinematic end of shadowbringers was so emotional and great

I really like the music comparisons because I recognize all of these in FFXiV and when you play the original versions its pretty awesome to draw the comparison.

That is a nice catch in the opening, and I think that is absolutely not a coincidence

It may also be worth mentioning that G'raha Tia's whole deal during the Crystal Tower raid is an allusion to Desch's story during the Tower of Owen in FF3. His ancestor is even named Desch!

15:16 you missed Echidna, which is not in World of Darkness but in Heavensward as the final Boss of the Void Ark
6:16 you missed the Dragoon T_T ...AND Ninja!!!

I had to watch this again because I love these reference videos. Just to note: The Onion Set you can get from Quick Ventures in FFXIV is still active. I've actually gotten one a few months ago, and I've even gotten the full set over the course of the last year. For some reason, the drop rate seems to have either increased, or they removed certain items to make those have a higher chance to drop.

Few months late but a brief sidenote on 4:40. While it's not the same gear the "Onion Armor" set is a gearset for Dragoons and Reapers available in The Labrynth of the Ancients alliance raid.

There’s a third onion helm called the peregrine helm. This is black in color and much like the red one seems almost impossible to get from quick ventures. As for the loot table situation I’ve been trying to get red/peregrine helms and onion gear for a while and none have dropped. I have seen people post screenshots of getting some onion gear through quick ventures, usually only when their retainer is between the levels 60-75, though I can’t confirm when they took that screenshot. Every now and then I will see a new listing for onion helms on the market board so either old stock is being put up, or people are getting new ones (albeit extremely rarely)

I tripped over this video two years after its upload, but for what it's worth, the Onion set is still available. I've found every piece over the years at some point (I send my retainers out a LOT), and just recently got one a couple of months back. I haven't sold the most recent piece I got, it was either the doublet or trousers, I can look again if anyone's curious. Further, I'm not sure what the minimum level is to find them, but my retainers have been level 90 for a year and something now, so there doesn't seem to be a gear/level cap for it. Good luck, and good hunting, for those searching for this set! :)

FF14 is not even done referencing FF3 as the next Deep Dungeon (which will be added in 6.35) is going to be Eureka Orthos (located beneath the Crystal Tower like the Eureka in FF3) and during the bit of footage we got shown during the most recent Producer Live Letter you can hear an arrangement of the FF3 Eureka theme playing in the background.

I've never played the old pre-6 Final Fantasy's, I don't think I'd have the patience for them, but this box art you've been using on the thumbnails is so striking, i love it!
it's always so fun to see what the original design team saw behind those limited pixel graphics.

In one of the shadowbringer cystarium delivery quests you restore a lute and the song one of the characters plays on it is noahs (or dogas? I cant remember the exact song) theme

Something to note regarding Cloud of Darkness' moveset in FFXIV. In the original NES version of III, its only attack was Flare Wave. It didn't start shooting laser beams and the like until Dissidia where it was given a moveset for the first time

Why does the game look so good in your footage? Are you using mods?

    • @Autobalance
      @Autobalance  Рік тому

For III or XIV? III is using the Pixel Remaster and XIV is just the vanilla game.

Permission to use your video to recommend a streamer to react on stream? They're playing FFXIV and getting thru the Crystal Tower Raids and I would love to show them why I personally love the raids since FF 3 remake was my first FF game

Man, I really wish I liked this game, I've beaten both the DS and Famicom versions and neither clicked. I've played every mainline FF game and some spinoffs, but III is the one I simply cannot find myself enjoying, I have more fun in II even.

I'm sad to realize that when I was kid I couldn't play extraordinary works like this, I think game like this that more or less shape the gamer as humans, so many artistic references and moral messages unlike today's competitive games.
