  • Recipe for Disaster continues as we attempt to turn the ailing fortunes of Cupboard Comforts around by making our restaurant more popular and more profitable! The first part of this plan is to add some new and exciting items to our menu.
We add some classics, like a hotdog, and something for those with a sweet tooth, such as milkshakes, but of course we add some more unusual meal options too, not all of which are particularly well received.
Our restaurant grows a little as we build a nice new storeroom to store all of the new ingredients we need to make our new meals, so we buy ourselves quite a few shelves and also a new fridge or two.
Also we are visited by some food critics, we add a fairly basic menu item to try to keep people happy and one of our staff leaves under mysterious circumstances.

Recipe for Disaster is a restaurant management and social simulation game that puts you in the shoes of an inexperienced, but ambitious, head chef working towards fulfilling your lifelong dream of becoming an internationally renowned restaurateur. Along this journey you will be tasked with carefully designing restaurants, hiring and managing the right staff, customising food menus, and experimenting with ingredients to create tasty new dishes that will impress your customers. Sounds idyllic right? Wrong.
Blazing a trail through the highly competitive, fast-paced and stress-inducing world of the food-service industry will be anything but straightforward. After all, this is an industry built around people, and keeping everyone happy, motivated, and fulfilled will require nothing short of a miracle!
Serious personality clashes and major skill gaps within your team could really disrupt the flow of service, whilst the volatile attitudes and peculiar tastes of your customers may prove to be the barrier that separates you from those all important positive review scores.
With perseverance, savvy management, and a great deal of compromise, your restaurant will grow, opening up new opportunities and challenges as you attract ever more demanding customers and critics through your doors. Expand your premises, improve your staff, and walk the precarious line between gastronomic glory and restaurant ruin.
Pick from a pool of procedurally generated hopefuls. Consider each individual’s unique combination of traits and skill levels, and how these might affect their work efficiencies, relationships, and customer interactions. Will they fit in? Or will they prove to be more trouble than they’re worth? Manage your team’s stress and stamina levels to minimise the risk of sickness and mid-service walkouts. Some staff will love the tasks that you give them whilst others will loathe them! Be alert to staff thoughts, temporary and permanent trait changes, and evolving relationships within your team.
Customize the design and layout of your restaurants using intuitive building tools and a range of colourful themes. Equip your kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, decorate your dining area, and build storage to hold those precious ingredients.
Manually assign tasks to your team or keep everyone busy using a highly customisable priority system. Keep a close eye on incoming customer orders and adjust your strategy in real-time to ensure the highest standard of food and customer service.
Pay close attention to the demands of your customers and adjust your menu to match their tastes. Be wary of dietary requirements, food allergies and unusual preferences. Decide how best to deal with the requests and complaints of your staff and customers. Will you be sympathetic or combative? Pushovers and tyrants will soon find themselves out of business so you’ll have to read each situation carefully.

You need to add spices to your food and add a room where your staff can sit and relax. They can watch tv or eat snacks while on break, plus add more tables and chairs.

A neighbor invites you to a BBQ in his yard. Ge offers you a hotdog and burger but instead of starting the grill, he starts a fire under a pot to boil your hot dog and he brings out a frying pan to sear your burger? That sounds right. Good vid.

I'm pretty sure you need to connect the steps between then an then put it in a plate for it to be like you want, like the hot dog, you are only servin a boiled hot dog with a side of a bread with ketchup 🤣.

Maybe you can help me here. I mentioned to @Kirra Lemongrab that I created a recipe using sliced steak. The thing I don't know is how to indicate that the steak is sliced. Should I "prepare" the steak before I grill it? Or does it even matter to the game, and I'm just too far down the rabbit hole with the details? :)

Pretty sure you can made just one uniform set for the front and another for the kitchen, just make sure both the male and female are what you want before saving them! Also, maybe remove dishes that are low in popularity. That will reduce how much ingredients you have to store and how much you're spending on ingredients 😁

Are you new to the channel? This is how this channel operates. He plays blind. That's part of his charm. He makes lots of mistakes, often with hilarious results. The other channels you're probably used to watching ALL pre-play - that's why they're already good at it - it's not innate. They played to perfection before they videoed. The result of other channels is that perfection is often pretty dry and boring. This channel is never boring. We're often laughing our heads off in these videos. You should watch his Rimworld videos, lol!

  • @2CraftySeniors
    @2CraftySeniors 2 роки тому +1

Well, at least the boiled pork belly people are now happy... although it sure isn't something I'd enjoy. I mean, boil it for a bit, then add some spices and pop it into the oven to finish. But they didn't seem to want anything on that, so... they got what they wanted and were happy about it.
The hotdog and burger seem a little bland but if that's the way people in this town like their food, it's all good. I once lived in an area where the food was pretty bland and it wasn't to my tastes... but the locals enjoyed it and that's also how they made their food at home... so it was good for them. Notice I said "used to live". LOL
I'd probably put a bit of relish on the dogs and burgers, maybe some onions (although I wouldn't actually want that because I really dislike onions), mustard... and I'd probably be more inclined to grill the dog rather than boil it... but boiled is normal in most restaurants where hotdogs are served because they're usually part of the "kids menu". I know you know that... you have children. :D But I have eaten hotdogs in a restaurant and mine was grilled because I asked for it to be made that way. I had mine with salad. :-)
