Glenn was 17 (just a month or so before his 18th)...he was destined to be a star.
Amazing footage. And someone had the good fortune and foresight to film it.
I have had the privilege to meet and speak to him a few times over the years. He is a real gentleman and a beautiful guy.
True...
Mr. Glenn "The Voice Of Rock" Hughes!!!
Nice to see jonny Jones Terry Rowley Glen Hughes again brings back great nights
Something has been lost. There's so fewer bands that really are growing before us and will really matter 30-years later. Even though Trapeze never got the credit they deserved here is a "nugget" of a performance. A group of folks all with a open heart to just rock out. No factions, no push/pull on anything...just a great performance to a receptive tight crowd. Golden.
People these days , don’t have to push ,to earn their spurs A half arsed cover version will get likes on social media . These lads were living and working in the active realms of reality . Unlike today’s artists who mainly thrive in static and contrived environments.
Saw Trapeze 3 times in the early 70's. No telling how many times I saw Deep Purple. Once, saw Trapeze open for Deep Purple.
Glen and Holland would become extremely influential in 80s Metal, Legendary
I was hooked in the first five seconds. Awesome sound. I love learning about new bands and sounds 50 years after the fact.
man did things change..but at least Mel already had that fierce Supergroup stack. Galley is in my top three & 'classic' Trapeze is worshipped here in TX. now go listen to Feelin' So Much Better Now..GH voice = top shelf.
Amazing band and its here really Mr Glenn Hughes walks your firsts steps in this world so impressive and magical called rock and roll and since this era Trapeze he shows one unique maestry in your bass and your duos vocals with Mel Galley other unforgettable bro bud of him and the voice of rock right appears in your youthness only with the time was more lapidated and turns one shine diamond much precious
Here's a 16 year old Uncle Glenn ! I would love to see live footages of Trapeze when they became a power trio ...
Thunderbird yes, me too. I've been looking everywhere for live show of Trapeze, but i've failed 😓
yes, fabulous piece of footage. Glenn would be almost 18 here.
@@doktoruzo yeah, one month to his 18th birthday
Very tight vocal harmonies. Priceless footage
A very tight unit with an exciting sound...definitely a group to watch. ----- John Bonham. (Fun fact: Bonzo used to jam with Trapeze frequently, especially in the Midlands.)
Wow, fascinating footage here. Trapeze doing cover tunes.....
One of the loudest bands I’ve seen - ears were ringing for days. ‘You are music’ probably one of the best albums I’ve got! Fantastic band!
I actually saw Trapeze at Londons Borderline Club in 1992 which came out as a CD. It was literally the loudest gig of my life, and I am serious here, it was the gig that gave me Tinnitus
Thats a power trio too much different a folk rock sound with the vibe of the 70ths years are too interesting and good to hearding I like too much a other facet of the most incredible and ecletic voice of rock Mr Glenn Hughes is unique and perfect all the groups who makes part
I had the pleasure of knowing the band in the 70s. Medusa was my favourite album, sadly I lent it out and never saw it again.
Holy shit!!!! This is a bit of a gem!!!! Fricken fantastic seeing a youthful Hughes and Galley!
They were close to hitting it BIG!!! But then Hughesey jumped ship to Purple!
LOVE IT! Thank you so much for the upload
I often wonder what could've been if Hughes hadn't bailed.
Saw Trapeze at this club in Wolverhampton , maybe 2 years later. Great footage and memories of that era. Still got my original vinyl albums too. They of course were from Cannock, just up the road from where I live. Mel Galley was a fabulous guitarist. RIP.
Wonderful piece of early 70’s prog rock sike

Amen, huge influence on my playing and style, especially his Trapeze years...amazing musician with big ears.
He added such great flavor drum style to Judas Priest..

The album I played by them is good stuff
This is damn good.
Glenn Hughes and Dave Holland in the same band...wow...
So young
Great versions of "Meet on the Ledge" & "Open My Eyes." Equally as good as Fairport's and Nazz (Todd Rundgren) renditions.
wow,
Fairport Convention also did a version of Meet on the Ledge (originally by Bob Dylan) which is really good but this one is better IMHO.
Noel Majers “Meet On The Ledge” is a Richard Thompson song.
I'd love to hear Dylans version of Meet on the Ledge if such a thing exists
Te amo GH
Hiwatt and SG bubba. 🎸
Reminds me of Spooky Tooth
Jeez, Glenn was a cutie 😍
Deep purple were huge at the time. Glen said he shouldve never left trap artist peze
They barely show guitarist and vocalist Mel Galley. Gee, he was only the leader of the band.
Sounds like the goovy emperor rosko as M c ?
👍
Just 28 years before this concert, the Germans were bombing the living shit out of this area.
