For the price, I think the Sonos Amp is the best all in one. It gives you the ability to have whole home audio and pairs it with the best app experience. Also, the amp can expand into a 4.2 system for home theater.

I’m A huge fan of my Cambridge audio CXA81 V2
Link says steaming built-in😄 beautiful design and I bet you'll love it more than the nad c399 since you didn't like the m33 that much but I'm still curious for a comparison hopefully soon, I don't know why we don't see any unboxing anywhere of the c399. Great job as always.
Again, I don’t know if you guys realize how great it is that you have “couples” conversation about hifi at the end of each review. Hifi purchases often involve partners and getting different takes from different perspectives is so nice to hear and can be as critical as anything when it comes to purchasing.
Haha good point, but would be even more realistic if Kristi hated audio, speakers, good music, and spending money 😜
Honestly, THE reason I come back as much as I do. You just don’t hear this style of review anywhere else. Along with the sweeping cinematography and the gorgeously simplistic interior design, this channel proves to be a FORCE. (I worded that like Andrew on purpose lmao)
Except in my case the answer would be “ask someone who gives a shit”, followed by “and turn it down!”.
The only people that would not agree with this is single people and people with huge houses. Of which I am neither
My wife and I really appreciate this. She's just starting to get into the hobby so it's nice, as a couple, to listen to another couple about speakers and components.
I heard this with the Monitor Audio Gold 100 speakers and was highly impressed, so much so that I purchased them both. The stand out feature of the sound was the addictive realism, and rhythm, warmth, detail and simple rightness. Top marks to Marantz for this.
Another great and practical system review. Great to see natural excitement from both of you. Love the Marantz sound. I'm rocking a Model30 with a Node. I wish this unit was around. Awesome video.
I am super happy with my 2.1 setup, Denon DRA 800 stereo integrated, powering Polk S600e Towers and a SVS PB 2000 sub. Sounds great with
music and movies, integration with my LG TV is flawless and ease of use is amazing with e ARC. My wife even loves this setup as it just works and
gets used every day for most of out TV and music needs. Great channel keep up the amazing work.
I’ve been watching your channel and have been meaning to tell you this for a while. Your production is second to NONE on you tube as far as my opinion goes. The sound / recording of your voice and lighting, editing, content, writing are all top notch. Hopefully you’ll see this Andrew because I’m sure you would like positive feedback for all your hard work. Thanks man!
Btw, in the late 80’s a sales guy in a hi-fi shop in Delaware steered me away from some Sony speakers to some beautiful Klipsch floor speakers and I haven’t looked back.
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate your comment. It means a lot!
to me, it's absolutely essential the feedback from kristi and the conversation between you both is always amazing, even i consider that you do your job outstandingly, her take is yhe cherry on top of the cake
By the way I'm a huge fan of your channel, I'm neophyte regarding to sound and audiophile stuff but I don't know why my brain just adore music and good sound (maybe not neutral but detailed and with quality) and you both are a trusty source of information the only cons is my extremely limited BUDGET
Another great review of a product that really peaks my interest! I also was loving some of the new graphics. You are constantly improving and evolving your style and I really enjoy that.
Great job as always. Very nice piece. Hopefully I’ll hear it one day. Keep up the good work. 🤘🏼🎸🤘🏼
I have the Marantz SR 7015. Recently added a Blue Sound node for better streaming experience compared to Heos. There were to many drop outs. With the addition of the blue Sound node, that problem no longer exists and hugely improved the streaming experience with Tidel. Keep up the good work! Greetings from The Netherlands.
Ooh! Love these new transitions into different topics
Glad you like them!
I'm so pumped you were able to review this product. I'm very much interested in how Sound United will make the delineation from Marantz and Denon and what that journey will entail. Thanks again for the solid reviews!
I really loved this review being that I'm 47 and a huge marantz enthusiast. From the vintage 2275 to my new ipex driven unit . I agree with your enthusiasm towards class a/b. I finalized my decision to buy the klh 5 based on your review. I know and trust your reviews to be honest. You can see and hear it in your body language where you stand with a product and of course our hard earned dollars. Having your wife introduced some time ago enabled me to introduce "audiophile " subject matter to my wife which was really awesome ! Thank you guys 😊 keep up the good work 👍
Marantz, hands down is my all in one. I have the programed 2.2 for all analog input (145W) then it goes to 7.2.4 on my HDMI inputs (100W). I love it.
I agree with the other comments. You are at the top of the reviewer game. Your reviews give insight and comparisons that help consumers make informed decisions.
I really appreciate that.
Good morning from San Diego, great to start the day with you! Always been a bog fan of Marantz. Looks like they did a really good job on the 40!
Came here for the product review and I got so much more. I'd never heard of Beth Hart, based on your mention of her St. Teresa song I listened to her Better Than Home album and WOW! I'm so moved. Thank you!
Enjoy your Chanel so much, thanks a lot. How do you think this Marantz compares with Nad M10 v2?
Hi Andrew and Kristi. If i was starting my hi fi journey today, i probably would pick the Marantz 40 because of all its features. But that was 57 years ago. When i had more money i went the way of separate components because that was the next level of improved sound. A few months ago i saw on ebay a new preamplifier from Goldmund , the Swiss manufacturer of audio products. The preamp was based on the famous Marantz 7 from the late 50's. It is a tube line level preamp and is very minimal It only has 1 output and 4 inputs, a selector switch and a volume nob , which is all i need. It sounds great with my phono stage preamp and Rotel power amp. I got it for $400.
I have and love the NAD M33. Amazing integration at all levels and I love the sound, as much as it is not for everyone
you two are amazing once again great review detail and information.
Wow... what a great review, thanks! More new Marantz reviews, please.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video. You compare the Marantz to several products, including the Atom. But how does the Marantz compare to the Musical Fidelity M5si which you liked so much you kept it? Marantz 40 or MF M5si?
it's an awesome piece of equipment ty guys for the great review.
Very nice review and great product and I love the "plug and play" without the need to go over layers and layers of menus to get it to work. As you said, a home run!
Thank you Kristi for the great review. What do you think of Lyngdorf? You haven’t ever reviewed any model. The Lyngdorf TDAI 1120 is class D but it has lot of features built in like room perfect, chromecast and a great app.
Awesome review. I love the Marantz soundstage. Picked up my first Marantz receiver this year and very happy.
That's great! Glad to hear that you're happy with your sound!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Yes!!! Also, I have found Marantz to have an excellent warranty program & customer service which goes a long way in my book as I am sure it does with the Robinson family as well. Happy Thursday!
Great video, I like the look of the Marantz as well, it’s living room friendly! But again, giving us more happy headaches on deciding on good products
Nice review. Enjoyed the video.
Nice review again. I think you should test NAD M10 V2 as one very popular all in one device.
Andrew and Kristi, thank you for what you do, and the humble-but-confident and common-sense style by which you do it. I've noticed the comment section here seems to lately be attracting some immature trolls, narcissists frankly, and I just want you to know that the wiser amongst us do support your efforts EVEN IF we sometimes don't come to the same conclusions; to your credit, while you state your opinions AND your reasoning clearly, you are the first to acknowledge that in the end it's the individual users' experiences that matter to the end user and that individual preferences matter. While the trolling is annoying, like teenagers can be, I encourage you to let the negativity just slide off your feathers and continue your journey, which enhances ours, with your ongoing integrity and grace so well on display.
We really appreciate this comment. Truly.
Hi Kristi & Andrew,
I've just bought tiens Model 40n and...it's brillant (for ME !) : clear, wide soundstage and powerful sound for ALL TYPES OF MUSIC ! Beware : the quality of the original recording is very important ! This unit plus KEF L50 are pure bliss !
Thanks for the review.
Really enjoyed this review. Looks like a great sweet spot blending traditional hifi and home theatre functionality
I have canceled my Tidal account since buying the Marantz Model 40n , when played from my Panasonic HDMI eARC connection to the Marantz Model 40n , the sound is far better than when listening from UA-cam ! I listen Tidal from the RME ADI - 2 DAC FS too , consequently I also sold the DAC too .
Wow, that sounds really weird - youtube audio should be pretty compressed actually - how could that be better? What happens when you open up Tidal on your TV or via Chromecast devices?
Especially when you connect your TV via optical through the RME it should be way better in theory?
From which Amp did you upgrade?
The quality of your videos is just getting better and better. I truly appreciate your commitment to delivering great content. You are literally number 2 on my watch list... Number 1 went to a car channel🙈🙈! God bless you both!
That's so kind! Not sure which car channel you watch but we enjoy Throttle House on the reg.
@@KristiWright it's a British channel Carwow. But I definitely will check out Throttle house as well. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@rawletaylor8145 Matt is good isn't he 👍
Throttle house is top notch.
Awesome video Andrew!
I think the Marantz 40n is superb. I have owned and used a Denon AVR-X4300H for several years now and HEOS works great on that unit. On mine, you can use the TV as a large screen with artwork and other information displayed. It is also on the app and I have used Apple and Android for said app. HEOS has made whole house audio very easy (I now have ten total HEOS speakers around our home!). Thank you for a wonderful review that has me excited. You and Ian White at eCOUSTICS are both excellent reviewers and his review whetted my appetite for more and your review was that "more".
Definitely would like to see you compare this to the Model 30 though I know you'll ding it for the lack of HDMI.
By far the best and most professional You Tube channel for audio gear. Not sure I need to renew my Sound and Vision subscription.
Great review I've heard enough I want one thanks
I'm w/Christi i like ALL black, not 2 tone, but Andrew, this sounds like the AMP for me, yesteryear is me, w/a few updates, this sounds like what I've been waiting for, great job Andrew, love ur review's man !!
I enjoyed your Marantz Review Andrew, I have a decision to make between the Technics sug700mk2 or the Marantz 40,
I love the Sug700MK2 looks and style, but I'm a little apprehensive about getting into this new class of power as I'm so accustomed
to old school amps, but also looking for a change. Any insight on how the Technics might match up with Totem Hawk speakers?
I'd love to hear your take on pairing Marantz Model 40 with Polk R700 that you said do much better with some power.
Thanks Andrew, I have watched this review so many times like I'm studying for an exam😂😂😂 and I am getting the Marantz model 40 without any doubt. Keep up the good work guys👌
Please provide some short review by yourself :D I'm also looking everyday for new reviews to this amp and really looking forward to buy it soon
Another great review, Andrew! Definitely a component I would have looked at if I hadn't already purchased an Emotiva PT1 and A2 BassX amp (which sound awesome and were a great value). I really like the new headers/chapters graphics and keep that great content coming!
What a great review once again! Not sure how many takes you guys do but it feels effortless on our end of the screen!! Best all in one... Probably Naim Uniti Nova for the perfect balance of sound signature, beautiful design and sheer power (Naim's 80W rating feels like a 200W from many other brands) but it's so expensive!
Thank you, and to your question re: number of takes, some videos take a few more than others. This one was right in the middle, not too many but definitely not the fewest. NAIM makes great products and yes, their power ratings seem conservative in real world listening.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews thanks for your response Andrew! Take care. Cheers from France!
Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for except for Heos and lack of Roon. Would love a comparison with the new NAD C399.
I'll second that. Would love to see a review of the NAD C399, particularly with the BluOS streaming module👍👍
Kristy & Andrew, thanks for the review. Have either of you heard any of the Marantz 70's 22xx A/B receivers? If so, any similarities with the Model 40?
I loved this review by you and Kristi.
RE the question of the day, I have a Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 on the way, intending to use it just like you all have used this one - a 2.1 music and TV combo. I wonder if you've heard that or would be interested in reviewing it.
Would be nice to see how the Marantz 40 compares to the brand new NAD C399 which has basically the same features at the same price point but runs BluOS innstead of Heos and is Class D.
Thanks for another great review. I realize the features are much different but what is your choice for sound quality vs the Technics SU-G700 you like?
Nice! Just saw this announced, and you're already on the review. :) I really like these 2.x channel music processors/integrated amps.
Lyngdorf TDAI 1120 is top of my all in one wish list currently. Has reviewed extremely well, would love to hear your thoughts on it
I would love to see a comparison of this Marantz model 40n against the Parasound Hint 6? I was just about to order the Parasound 2 days ago, my only pause was the lack of a HDMI as I would like that option to watch movies with my Klipsch Belle's, this sent me back to the Marantz website looking at the SR5015 & NR1711 both are known to lack the musicality. The Parasound checks every single thing except HDMI. Klipsch Belle's (to me) need that classic Marantz type sound, that's not really been available from them for some time in 2-channel fashion. Very grateful for your review, and I will be purchasing the Marantz 40n.
It’s a nice piece of kit, should pair nicely with your Belles.
I purchased the Denon DM41 mini all in one hifi, it's about $500, it's won multiple hifi awards in it's multiple iterations over the year's, the reviews claim it puts some separates systems costing considerably much more to shame, I've partnered mine's with a set of Vintage Elatx Liberty 5+ speakers producing a very articulate sound, without being overly analytical and just enough warmth for long listening, as mine's is connected to my TV via optical cable it needs to be, I've seen this little system partnered with speakers upto the value of $2000, which I suppose is high praise indeed to have this level of confidence in a all in one costing less than #500, Thankyou for your great reviews 👍.
I need to hear it with my Model 5’s. That is so pretty. Thanks again, great review as always.
Thanks for watching!
I'm with Kristi on the looks, that's honestly the one thing holding me back from considering this. Make it matte black and add the screen for album art and I'm 100% sold
The only thing that I wish Marantz would get away from is the port hole display. But that's just me, maybe people like the port hole design. Rather than that, it looks like a awesome piece of equipment.
Do you feel like people are starting to move towards more musical systems instead of multichannel setups?
Seems to me that a good 2.0 or 2.1 setup gives the range of good music plus its good enough to satisfy people with movie performance as well.
Maybe the days of 5/7/9 speakers in a room are on the downside.
And this is just the machine to make that argument. Awesome review, keep up the great work.
Nice review again😊
I like the looks of it...and the hdmi input..I wish more integrated amps had that. I'm not a fan of Heos so need for that😅
I love my Hegel and waiting for your review of one of their amps😉...H120 or H95 (yeah...I've mentioned them a few times earlier 😅) should be a good comparison to the Marantz.
This is a really exciting product. I'm years away from investing into a dedicated 2 channel music setup, but it's nice to see products like this being made seems like a perfect fit.
When the time is right, I think you're going to be spoiled with respect to choices!
Will there be a review of the lyngdorf tdai 1120?
Man this AIO looks so good it's almost unreal. Whoever designed this thing earned his cash
“Cinematic AF” well that alone the 40 gets my vote. Will look further into this unit. Love Marantz’ sound signature. Another great video guys (and ladies 😉).
Thanks for the review, it is definitely a hansom looking unit!
To power Heresy 4, would you choose model 40 (ab) or recent NAD M10 V2?
Interesting. I had almost convinced myself to pull the trigger on the Musical Fidelity m5si, but I’ve been a happy Marantz owner for the last 15 years. Intrigued by the HDMI input as I’ve been thinking about losing my surround setup and simplifying to 2.1. Andrew and Kristi- any opinions on the Marantz 40 vs. the Musical Fidelity? Thanks!
I agree on the 2.1.
Good Morning! I greatly enjoy your reviews in general, but particularly the one on the Marantz Model 40n. While I've always loved music and have invested in some good equipment, I VERY recently became interested in hifi when I visited a high end stereo store and experienced a McIntosh system. I was blown away, and immediately began a savings plan toward purchasing an 8950. But then I started researching, and changed my mind due to the way I listen to music, which is more along the lines of streaming, verses phono or CD (neither of which I have), and the type of music I listen to... and how I listen to it - rock, country, and both very loud. All that to say, when you compared the Marantz to the McIntosh 7200, I was seriously swayed toward the Marantz, and have all but decided to buy it. But then I came across the NAD m33, and I am torn.... Your review on the 33 was perplexing, in that it left me with the impression that it was nearly perfect, but lacking emotional connection. The reason I'm drawn to it, possibly over the 40n, is the greater power it offers. My setup is a pair of Golden Ear Triton 7's along with a SVS PB 16 ultra and an Atlantic Technology 642e (because I absolutely love overwhelming, room shaking bass, and those are the subs that became available on the used market). As I understand it, the Tritons are relatively inefficient (89db I think?), so require a little more power. AND, the 33 has dual sub pre-outs, while the Marantz only has one. But... from your reviews, the 40n is more "musical" verses a more "clinical" 33....
Maybe this pairing of choices isn't exactly fair, considering the NAD costs twice as much as the Marantz, but, in your opinion, given the setup and the music taste, which one would you choose?
Thank you in advance for your time!
Thanks for yet another honest review - of a product that is actually quite approachable in price! As to the QOTD: I'm really curious about the JBL SA750. Think you could get your hands on one of those for a review?
I requested the SA750 in September 2021 and was told they had none to send but that they would reach out when they had one available. Radio silence ever since.
Man I’ve been wanting a review of the JBL SA750, let’s say I’ve considered just buying it with hope it would sound great.
Like the idea it comes with DIRAC.
Kristi - If I buy it, y’all want to review it? Im in the same state.
@@KristiWright Okay, gotcha. Well I hope you two find a nice surprise from JBL on your porch sometime soon to share with us!
The problem with all these digital and streaming featuring integrated amps is that they get obsolete quickly.
Your money is much better spend on a true analog amp with external digital and streaming components.
I hear you. What analog amplifier would you suggest in the 1000€ price point?
First, absolutely love your channel and think you two do a fantastic job of discussion and reviewing gear (am going to be a joiner soon).
Based on this and another review of yours (and others), I purchased my first higher end hifi system for my girlfriend and me. It consists of a pair of Wharfdale Elysian 2s, a Project Carbon Pro turntable, and the Marantz 40n integrated amp. Thank you so much, because it sounds fantastic! :) However, I have little to no experience with high-end standalone DACs and would love to hear your comparison of a unit like this, compared to utilizing a dedicated DAC. I know they very tremendously in price, but a small discussion on this would be very informative. Again, thank you for teaching me so much on this fun and life changing hobby!
Amazing video as always.
Just traded in my NR1200 for a 40n. What a difference, thank you both.
Im about to do the same trade, how big is the difference? Can you tell more about it?
@@nDroSambelGoreng Sure. The biggest improvement I noticed was dynamics. Drums now have some punch to them and there is a more 3D nature to music. The sound is also thicker and larger somehow.
@@Laz_RS i just did the trade. Its a fuller sound, I even had to lower down the level of my subwoofer.
Kind of a new viewer here. First of all, great review. Very informative without too much BS.
Just out of curiosity, is Kristy a Texan?
Born and raised, been here all my life.
@@KristiWright I thought I heard Texas in your voice.
@@Alamo-cz5xc I've worked very hard to eliminate any accent but yes, it occasionally comes out.
@@KristiWright It's like music to my ears
Glad to see a new, sleek, all in one that has the muscle to justify its presence. Though strangely, for being mostly an amp review, this video has me thinking more about sources and accessibility and how much those can vary, and thus how much of a godsend it is having more bases covered by less devices in total.
I really enjoy your channel! I am working on getting buy in on getting back in the game and your episode regarding the Marantz 40N has peaked my motivation.
Would you add a DAC to this system? If so what make/model?
Speakers for a moderate sized great room with an open ceiling?
Keep up the great work!
Hi Andrew!
I would want to issue voice command to my echo "Alexa, play [artist] on Amazon Music" and have it play from the marantz to dune stereo speakers...
Would this negate the HEOS issues you alluded to (are the problems only when diving through the app... I want clear what the issues are/were from the review).
Thank you 👍
Please do a review of the Model 30...if possible?
This has my vote for the best super-integrated. For me, it would have been perfect had it the one key feature of the NR1200: HDMI switching. My TV is one short of HDMI inputs to route all my devices through the TV. But this is making me reconsider buying an external amp for the NR1200.
If this bad boy had two HDMI inputs (plus the ARC port) I likely would've fallen over.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I'm looking into high quality stand-alone HDMI switchers right now.
Hi Andrew, love your reviews! What kind of app are you using for the art on your tv? It’s always fantastic ❤️
Thanks, Phillip. I use Kreoz - it's a paid app only available using amzn.to/3em0YUp
I really like the concept of a hybrid 2.1 stereo/H.T. integrated amp. I hope to see more of this sort of thing from other manufacturers too.
Andrew, how dies this compare to the Technics G700 integrated amp?
I wish HDMI Arc will become a standard input on all stereo receivers :( That would make life and choosing an amplifier sooo much easier..
Only recently found your channel, but loving it so far. I primarily listen to vinyl at home (your vinyl sucks video is next on my list ;). You compare this to the MAC7200, and as noted, there is a massive difference in price. How would you rate this against a comparably the lowest priced McIntosh integrated amp like the MA5300? I've always love the Mc sound, so curious how these will stack up.
Another excellent, to-the-point review. On a side note, during Kristi's Takes, I love how Andrew's facial expressions and body language tend to resemble what I probably look like during a marriage counseling session. It's refreshing to get a second opinion and for him to be willing to expose himself to that in every review.
Thanks for turning me on to Beth Hart. Love your channel.Keep up the great content .
I thought you fell in love with the Technics Su G 700 :))
Really love the review! I recently acquired some vintage Acoustic Research AR3s and I was considering this amp to power them. I'm basically looking for something to play vinyl and hi res digital. Thoughts? Other recommendations? Appreciate any advice!
Thanks for another wonderful video. Would be great if you can also review the similarly priced and highly rated Kinki Studio EX-M1 & make a comparison against the Model 40.
was looking for this comment ! I see the Kinki everywhere online
Wondering how the Marantz PM7000N compares
Really surprised and pleased that you reviewed this unit! thanks you very much, so compared with de SUG700, YAMAHA AS1200 and MF M5Si, this one would be your pick?
Minus the Technics, the other two amps aren't exactly "smart" or connected, so understand they're comparable but also not. All that said, I would likely pick the Marantz over the Yamaha and M5si (despite owning an M5si still), and would like to put the Model 40n up against the 700 for final judgement there. That said, now that the 40 gives me HDMI, it would be hard for me to go without.
I have to ask why the surprise? Just curious. Thank you for watching.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews perfect, thanks for your comments. Love your channel by the way!
@@KristiWright Hello Kristi! Because I just saw it announced like 2 days ago and I thought (no kidding) “this sounds like a very good option for me, but will be launched till march, so I’ll get a good review maybe till may, so…”
Then Andrew posted yesterday that a big must watch was coming today and I thought of the remote posibility and then, IT HAPPENED! So, that’s why my surprise.
Always grateful for the Kristi’s thoughts section! Keep up the good work and really appreciate your reviews!
I was about to write the same comment :D
Love the review! Really considering this to replace a Peachtree 150 to power my old B and W nautilus 805. Do you think it would be a good march? Thanks.
Great video!!!
dam good review
Wow. Amazing praise for the model 40. It has the features that I like but I would like some more power. I'm anxiously waiting for a review of the NAD C399 Integrated Class D amplifier. It's now in the market and I'm hoping that Andrew can get his mitts on one and review it. Andrew, any chance that the NAD C399 will be an up and coming review of yours?
I don’t know…70A/B watts is a bunch!! Are your speakers that inefficient? I would look to that end as well…for an Integrated to be mentioned in the same breath as that McIntosh, which sounds stupidly good, would be worth making sure you have a set of speakers to match it!
Phillip, no plans for any NAD reviews unfortunately. Not for a lack of effort…
@@Csnumber1 I'm purchasing my amp to support the new Floor standing speakers I'm getting as well. They range from Dynaudio Evoke 50, Sonus Faber Sonetto 5, Triangle EZ Australe or Paradigm Founder 100F. My listening room is fairly large, so I want to be able to get the maximum quality and higher volumes.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews HI Andrew. Your reviews are a big part on what and how I consider the products that I look at. I'm prepared to wait it out until you can review this item. The potential value to performance to features ratio of the NAD C399 is compelling. My first choice thus far is the Yamaha A-S1200. But then it means I need to add on Dacs, Bluetooth and other peripheral digital components on top of it. Space for me is a concern. It will be shared with my home theater equipment in the same Bello display unit. I will be partnering my new Integrated Amp with the following speakers on my shopping list. Dynaudio Evoke 50, Sonus Faber Sonetto 5, Triangle EZ Australe or Paradigm Founder 100F.
@Philip Ciantar I would love to bring you this review. My only suggestion would be to contact NAD and their parent company Lenbrook to let them know you want to see their products on the channel.
I am excited before I have even watched the video. Cant wait!
Enjoy!
Marantz has always got one of the best connectivity options in their products. And with this new amp I am compelled to take a look at it. Will try it out for my HeresyIV.
@robinsonbrand would love to hear your take on Model 30 and how this compares with Model 30
I have purchased the 40n (waiting for delivery) and now face the daunting challenge of picking a speaker. Looking at the Linton, Heresy 4, Paradigm Premier 800f, or KEF LS50 Meta.... I currently own a set of paradigm Monitor 9 v6
I have no way of previewing any of these so Im just asking for your opinion on which of the above you feel would match the 40n best.
The KEF LS50 Meta are power hungry speakers. Not sure the 40n can drive them well.
@@massiada000 thanks
@@hanschristeler3651 In my opinion the 40n should be enough for the ls50 meta. I've got them as well and I'm going to buy the 40n for them soon as well. Currently I'm driving them with 50w - which seems fine, but it isn't a power problem.
I had a 200w class D on it for a short time - and I didn't like the sound - but I didn't hear the "raw power" in comparison to my 50w amp
@@massiada000
Good grief! Those tiny things are "power hungry". This is frAudiophile talk, young man.
I purchased the JBL 4309 Studio Monitors and they sound AMAZING. True to source sound. I'm curious if you picked anything up and if so what did you get.
I think the NAD M10 v2, the upcoming NAD C399, The Naim Unity, CA Evo 150, and your mention Marantz 40. All these could be at the head of the pack. At least in my opinion, and if i would but one all in one solution (In the planning for 2023, we bought new furniture last month first 😉). My preference of my small mentioned list at this point would be the NAD M10. With roomcorrection. But need to try and save some money again, before i do. so in the meantime im open to suggestions an keeping my eyes open. For instance at your great channel 😉 Btw. Denon is also great. Bought a all in one last year one for my Daughters 11th birthday (now 12) It can play everything, and can connect a lot of different speakers. we choose for matching Denons, due to the grey color. No issues there.
I agree on the wider front fascia. As it is now, it looks like they just extended the width for cosmetic reasons. Love how you described the sound. Miss the old Marantz, for sure. Looked at some old units on ebay last night. Similar prices as the 40. Would love to see the internals of the 40.
Nothing special inside
