Your hands look mine... After 60 years of playing guitar and shoeing horses. I'm 75, started playing lap steel couple months ago... Good man, hello from s. w. New Mexico.. (home of the Festival of the Inbred.)
Really cool! I’ve been wanting to do this same setup with the three benders but I’m worried about being able to use benders 1 and 3 without hitting 2. Is this possible or not really? I want to get that “B pedal + E lower” position!
Thanks and wow! The roller nut is from Hipshot. I started to make one and found the perfect one from Hipshot The bridge/benders I got from Duesenberg and the pickups are Lollar. The rest I did from scratch patterned after an old lap steel shape. BTW, I saw the Uberjam 1 tour and been a big fan ever since. Of course I always will listen to Scofield but what you brought was very special. Truly an all time favorite show for me. I still listen to both 1 & 2
@@Siberguy2008 Ah thanks! Glad you enjoyed. And thanks for the info. Am about to embark on a mod of a lap steel, with bender (not sure if Duesenberg or Certano) and was wondering about the roller nut. Let's see...
@@avibortnick I was think of making another and using benders from a guy named Shad Peters. If you're not familiar google "peters pitch witch" They look pretty sweet.
I love your benders!!! Did you make them or buy them? If you made them could you do a video on them? They are great and you use them so well! Love from NW Colorado. Thanxz
Thanks. Just something I made for myself. Maybe when I stop working in a couple years I’ll make more. I have quite a lot of time and $ into it this. It’s patterned after the dusenburg lap steels
The way those benders are in a tray like a trle bridge pickup, that looks like a set of Duesenberg benders. If that's what they are, were you able to order them from Duesenberg? They usually come standard as part of the instrument.Nice setup.
I am not really up on benders but a bit familiar with them. I haven’t seen triple benders. My question is the lowest bender on the D string? I’m thinking I can fabricate something like this. The beautiful sounds of lap steel are so enchanting. I am memorized by Greg Lietz lap steel playing on Jackson Browns “Barricades of Heaven” . Thanks for posting and please load more of your playing. Very nice.
Thanks. The third bender drops the high d to c#. This is often a knee lever on pedal steel. For great playing look for Luke Cyrus Goetze. His videos inspired me to make this.
Thanks for your reply. I’m feeling a bit foolish, just watched the Jackson Browne video and see that Greg doesn’t have string benders. I’ll let you know my progress. Just picked up some rough bumbinga wood and was wondering what to do with it 🙂
What a fantastic lap steel! Did you make the benders? I want to make one like your’s. 3 string benders. Could you show them and where they came from? Love from NW Colorado. Thanxz
Thanks. The benders are made by Dusenberg. They come with 2 levers but you can add. Look for Dusenberg multi bender. There is another maker but I’ve forgotten.
Also if you don’t know of Luke Cyrus Goethe and Troy brenningmayer. Look them up on youtube. I hope I spelled the names right. I got the bug from their videos.
I saw your video. Nice work. I want to make another when I get some time. At least Covid gave me time to stay home and do this. I rushed it a bit because I got eager to play it I would change a few things I wished I had done. I’m enjoying mine.

Sounds awesome not many people use three palm benders.
God bless you for your beautiful instrument music and video...
Very nice!
Fabulous!

Takes a little practice but 1 and 3 makes a V7. Top string d to c#
Awesome work and fantastic playing! What about the roller nut? And did you fashion the body and neck yourself, or from a kit?

They look like Dusenberg Multibenders
They are Dusenberg As Dustin wrote
Sounds amazing! Do you build these for people?

@Just Passing Time Until My Next Incarnation You still press down to lower pitch. It depends on how you mount the string.
You are incredible player
How did you make your benders
Is there a youtube clip you can recommend?
Many thanks. Fantastic
These are bought from Duesenberg

We're can get a guitar like that looking for one
Dusenburg sell these. I used their benders/bridge
What kind of price for one
@@marvinwhite4618 they are pricey which is one reason I built my own.
You built it nice wash I could build one like that
Sounds amazing! I just made one also from Maple, Open D tuning. Check it out on my channel.
