Seeing you freeball the headstock end on the mangler, man, that was amazing.

Been lookin at lap steel builds and came across yours. Scared the hell out of me. Was sure there was going to be blood or that piece of ash shot back through your shop wall. You should either get rid of that table saw or learn to use it safely.

Never use a table saw without a fence or even a semblance of safety

Freehand cutting on a tablesaw should only be done...NEVER.

Thanks I agree it’s the best way. I’m building palm benders for it right now. Cost so far- 0$! 👍

Can you build one for me with 10 strings, a 22 1/2" scale length and BR6 P90 pickups?
I have no space in which to build and my broken back doesn't allow me to do much.

I do like the sound of this thing. Have you looked into CBGitty for benders? I used 2 on my project and am pleased with them. Great video and from the work shop there might be a little hope for me. God bless.

May I ask what tuning you used for your little county steel demo at the end? That was fun, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching I used the c6 tuning for that end bit. The rest of the video was a sort of D open tuning. Until I built this lap steel I’d never played one and now I’m hooked but I’m definitely new to these tunings! 🍻

@@troyeckstein4337 Ah, I'd guessed it wasn't a major chord. Cheers Troy, I'll have a look for that tuning.

@@troyeckstein4337 This could have easily ended up on a gore website. I could barely watch you on that table saw.

Thanks for watching this build! I play guitar(30+ years) and some piano but never a lap steel. I’ve tried slide playing on guitar but I find it hard and the lap is kinda the same. Definitely not an easy transition from guitar I find! Playing the lap steel is really fun though so I’ll keep practicing lol 🍻
