john smith The pre- lift episodes were the earliest years of the program. The content was a lot less refined and both pitchers and dragons seemed to get away with more attitude making these early episodes far more entertaining especially series 1 and 2.
Always makes me laugh how after ‘I’m out’ which is usually the final statement, Duncan always follows up with more like ‘I’m out, I’m not interested, I’m gone’
Quite. It's basically a pretty nasty programme - don't go on it unless you want your humiliation to be out there forever and the only thing the public remembers about you. Or unless you're 100% you have a great business I guess.
Series 1 was basically crimewatch. The inquisitor like dragons were constantly catching criminal-like people, fraudulent investments, murderous projects and most importantly, the double-act vigilantes!
They only showcase the really good investments and the really bad. It's like American Idol. The "yeah this is decent but ehhh" investments aren't shown.
Thats harsh. They were not doing anything illegal. They said they own some code. Just not the main engine. Basically, they wrote an abstraction layer for an API. I do that all the time.
Anyone who can't relate to that has never prepared a presentation which they think may be good enough, then looked out at an audience who want you to give them something better, or shut up. Then you do the worst thing possible - try to talk yourself out of trouble.
That pitch brought back a few play rehearsals. The only thing missing was the director throwing the script on the stage and yelling, "You were supposed to know the lines by last week. We open in 10 days! TEN days!!!!"
As an ex muso, I can say that most musicians and singers are skint and no one who's persuing a career in music business ain't guna want to pay £500 straight away for this.
That`s exactly what I thought as £500 is a lot of money to pay to get on that platform. A better solution would have been ask the dragons for £10,000 and let musicians and singers sign up for say £50 for the first year and then a percentage cut from all sales after that.
@@ReeTVdocs £500 may be a tiny investment if you've got it spare but from my experience, musicians are always skint and can't afford £500 to get access to a platform that from their perspective, might not even do anything productive for their career.
