  • The Flood, one of the most devastating enemies from the Halo Universe appears in the Star Wars Universe, with spores appearing on a planet in the Unknown Regions. Can Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and the rest of the Galactic Empire survive the flood's parasitic onslaught?
    For those who don't know, the flood are a sentient, single minded, parasitic life-form which has terrorized the Halo universe, including the Forerunner during the Forerunner Flood War and the Ancient Humans.

      the entire scenario of your bullshit halolites its that the flood can and will infect all the species in the star wars galaxy, well you are all wrong, if you knew basic biology you also knew that every specie has a different molecular structure and different anatomy we can see this even in a planetary scale here in earth, where there are species like sharks that are totally immune to cancer, thats a tiny example, the star wars galaxy in comparison with the halo milky way has over 20 million sentient species vs no more than 50, 20 million that could be also immune or had something to counter the flood. i am not even counting the non sentient species that could very well be over hundreds if not thousands of quadrillions or even quintillions, to that you must add sextillions of viruses, bacterias, parasites, genetical enginer bio weapons that the empire could very well do, but the most important thing that this idiot and you fanboys are not even taking into account is the force, which is the transdimensional energy of all life, through the force they can defeat the flood and actually a powerful force user can influence through the force a gravemind or a key mind.
      now the most important thing of all is that this dude scenario and all your bullshit doesnt even fully consider every part of star wars lore and halo lore, the idiot didnt even know the cure for the flood of the ancient humans didnt even worked, and he doesnt have a hint of knowledge of basic biology, in layman terms; THE FLOOD WOULD BE MOPED BEFORE THEY EVEN REALIZE WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED.
      p.s: i think its safe to say that by the time a gravemdind its formed Palpatine would already made use of sith alchemy to make it his puppet.

Easy win for the empire - blow the planet up with the death star 2 or just bomb it from orbit.
      If the flood make it off the planet, then i think they will just spread so quickly for the empire to come out on top. In halo 3 they almost infected Africa in just a few hours. They could claim the star wars universe in a few months at most...

    I have played every halo game, looked deep into the lore of everything flood included. And I doubt the galaxy would stand a chance. They spread rabidly. Look at High Charity in halo 3 compared to the end of halo 2. Completely a flood home in a few hours. So in my opinion, no the flood would be too much. And if a flood infects someone that's force sensitive, then that flood can use the force as well. Just like Rtas aka shipmaster aka broken jaw once said and this word by word. "A single flood spore can a destroy a species." So yeah, my response to would the galaxy survive is *whoop* NOPE

      Allow me to play Devil's advocate for a minute (I agree with you, but opposing ideas hold some merit)
      Some possible points in favor of the Empire:
      -the Flood may be susceptible to Sith influence or even outright control from a sufficiently powerful Force user
      -The Force itself has some kind of intelligence or intent, so it may end up tipping the tide somehow
      -planet-breaker weapons. Not life-eradicators, LONG-DISTANCE PLANET-BREAKERS. One shot from a Death Star or similar is ALWAYS a disintegrated ship.
      - However. Flood capturing one would be BAD. VERY BAD.
      -The mechanics of the Flood's hivemind may be disrupted by the fact that it's existing in a place possibly without neural physics. Not an instant K-O to the Flood but may force it to take drastically different tactics, possibly going with hordes of Proto-graveminds physically connected to their local infestation, rather than a single superintelligent wireless mind.

      I'm almost certain they would be able to connect to the Force. • @nycto5335

    • @jhan9193
      @jhan9193 7 років тому +17

      @Nycto never could understand the whole "balance" thing! After complete assimilation, the Flood moves on to another galaxy to repeat the process, perhaps the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy. A very similar concept to the Force exists in the Halo Universe, it's called "Living Time", and the Flood's ultimate goal is to convert all life in the universe to achieve perfection. The Forerunner Mantle is also designed around the worship and fulfillment of Living Time, in a more "balance of the Force" kind of way, however

The Flood is best thought of as a Hive Mind, and you could think of every Gravemind as an extension of the same being. And in the Halo Universe, the Flood's ultimate endgame is the unification of all life in the universe, which they see as "perfection". You know, I was thinking about this after hearing a bit about the flood and how absolutely dangerous they are, and I thought back to this video about how spread out and !@$#ed the star wars galaxy would be, as the flood could gain so much steam as to be basically impossible to defeat because of how easily they could access a population so much more massive than anything in the halo universe before anyone with enough power to stop them could ever notice. I think these are good points.
    I also remember some comments making the comment that the flood would be able to use the force after consuming jedi. In the halo universe the flood gains enough traction to seemingly infect timespace itself, and also using neural physics like the precursors, utilizing their long dormant tech such as the star roads.
    However, I think there's an issue here. The Force as it is portrayed in the Star Wars universe is not just an energy source, but rather a pantheistic deity that has a will of it's own. The FORCE ITSELF could possibly seek to destroy the flood.
    This leads to an even more interesting implication. The flood uses the logic plague in order to, in a sense argue it's point and manipulate AI in a way that corrupts their programming, and can manipulate almost any intelligence. Could the Flood develop so far as to CORRUPT THE FORCE ITSELF? The flood is not just a physical biological infection, but a philosophical one. However, the Force is more than metaphysical, but spiritual. The actual capacity of The Force itself is nebulous, and what it's actually capable of is not exactly clear, and I think that this makes the implications of such a conflict utterly fascinating.

    • @owenleaman7306
      @owenleaman7306 4 роки тому +6

      Yeah, the Force being a sentience itself could absolutely play a vital role in the Flood infection's spread (or defeat, both are possible)
      Though I'd argue due to the Flood's nature as an extradimensioal threat to the Star Wars universe, the parasite may be "immune" to the Force, for lack of a better term. The force is like the will of the universe; what power would it have over something foreign? This question, i think, is vital to answering the question of who would win.

    I’m not saying the flood would lose or anything, in fact I almost laughed at the video title thinking how anyone could even imagine the Star Wars universe standing a slim chance, but I actually think your mentioned lack of ai in the Star Wars universe could be an advantage, as on if the reasons the forerunners got so fucked was the logic plague overtook most of their ai that they relied so heavily on

    "One single flood spore can destroy a species" Unless the empire can use the death star to destroy the planet the infection started on before it spreads off world, which is EXTREMELY unlikely for many reasons, they are fucked. Hell, even the halo universe itself doesn't have a legitimate way to kill it without everyone else dying, they simply ignored it's existence after killing a gravemind and acted like it was over, when all that did was make the flood slightly less organized for a short time.
    If the halo rings themselves, (which are weapons that make even starkiller base look like a fancy laser pointer) couldn't stop the flood then nothing really can once the infection has gotten off world. I doubt most SciFi universes could stop it, not star wars, not star trek, nothing. You have a VERY small window to stop it, and you usually wont see it until it's closed.

      It would definitely be an interesting conflict, both are seemingly infinite empires but the empire mainly relies on numbers to overwhelm their enemies so that advantage is now just an equalizer, now some may say that star wars tech is superior, maybe ship wise yes, on the ground things would be hell for the empire's troops taking into consideration hunters, sword elites (energy swords also happen to be the perfect anti lightsaber melee weapon) and their cloaking tech, scarabs, disregard for their own lives, and limitless devotion to their cause.
      And the covenant re-purpose forerunner tech all the time (Which is vastly superior to star wars tech) so they would use the empire's own technology against them. The covenant would destroy on the field, and adapt and overcome in space. It in my opinion would be tipped in the covenant's favor slightly but would still be a long, hard fought war.

    The forerunner technology was far more technology advanced than anything the star wars universe had. And the forerunners got stomped by the flood. So you would think, flood > forerunners > empire. But here's the thing...
    As the flood-forerunner war progressed, the flood began reactivating and using precursor artifacts such as star roads and they also took control of the domain. These precursor artifacts were ridiculously overpowered compared to the forerunners technology and are what gave the flood such an advantage in space battles. Without those artifacts, its not clear that the flood would have actually won. At least, that is the impression that I got while reading the forerunner saga novels. And since the star wars universe doesn't have such artifacts to give the flood such an advantage...The empire would still probably get stomped, but who knows.

      @williamdus it all 101 but thats the tricky part, because couldnt the flood take over a midichlorian? Its a super cell so basically everything cellular and below can slowly be transformed into a flood super cell, which within halo lore Can mimic the abilities and inate functions of the cells it converts, its not really so much being Dead just that you are no longer the one that decides when you move you leg or what you do, i put dead in quotes because the host never actually flatlines or has its brainwaves cease unless the host is physically destroyed, now the flood dont really eat so yeah eventually they all die naturally and at that point become more flood cells then host cells

      The flood will find way. The flood is patient. If they cant just overrun the defending forces, they will find a way to corrupt them from the inside.
      And every attempt of the empire to bring the fight back to the floods territory will result in strengthening them.
      There are only two ways to destroy a flood outbreak.
      Kill it off in its early stages or destroy everything the flood feeds on like the forerunners did because they didnt really get the chance the first option offers.

When the force reports the horror they've found that'll be the moment that decides the fate of the Galaxy. If Palpatine doesn't take The Flood seriously then the Galaxy will be done for.

    My Theorie:
    Start Form: One Spore
    Strarting Planet: ---( Or, if it should go faster, Coruscant)
    So, some Guy gets infectet. A Infection by a Spore has other effects than by a infection Form, before you can see the infection it will grow around 2-3 months. Patient Zero will be more agressiv and will try to attack other Individuals. If he gets killed, Spors will be Released into the Air. Everybody that was near Patient Zero will be infectet soon, because of the Spores. Soon, the "Spore" Floods will cover a place with collected Biomass. There, they will collect Biomass to produce Infection Forms (They can infect Victims faster and mutates them) and to build a Gravemind.
    That all happens in the first few Days After Patient Zeros Dead.
    After they made a Proto-Gravemind (A small Gravemind) they get to the coordinated Stage.
    From they the will spread extremely fast. The Key is to infect a Clone or a Stoormtrooper, when that happens, they will get Military Informations and may the informations how to steer Vehicles or Spaceships. The First Planet will fall in about 6 Months.
    The Flood will try to find a Planet with alot of Biomass. Mostly Coruscant. Now, that they have a Target, they'll try to get the Gravemind to the Target. The Captured Starships crash into the Planet, and realising the Infection. Depends on how big the Infection was, the Planet will fall in bless than a Week. It will may take more Time to Reach the Center if Coruscant, but After 1 Week there is No Chance to deafeat the Infection.
    Key-Mind
    Now, that the Flood has enougth Biomass, they will Build a Key Mind. It take Years to build It, but if theyre done Star Wars is deafeted.
    The Flood is an Overkill to the Star Wars Galaxy.

    This is such a sweet idea! I've pondered this many times. I would also like to know what the UNSC vs the Empire would be like. Darth Vader vs. Master Chief.
    One of Star Wars's most damning faults when it comes to fighting the Flood- Blasters. Blasters are essentially plasma based guns that as anyone that has played Halo knows...not very effective against the Flood. Further, Star Wars does use hyper intelligent AI. Sone of their droids are much, much, much more intelligent than any organic life.

    • @dr.vanilla9017

      In lore, plasma is very effective against biomass. However in star wars plasma behaves differently. Hitting more like a really, really hot bullet.

      I don't know about that.. there are avenues the Chief could fight Vader that he has proven to be ineffective in combatting. What I'm referring to is his suit in particular. If that thing is wireless in any way...Vader would be in real trouble. The second the fight started Cortana would be attacking his suit. Unlike a droid, Vader can't just crush her and as she's not technically physical would the Force really do anything to her?

    Reapers from Mass Effect vs the Flood. My friends and i have been debating this for (what seems like) years.

    • @jamesshore3191
      @jamesshore3191 3 роки тому +5

      Reapers lose 10/10 times. The AI that leads the reapers can be infected by the flood and taken control of it via the logic plague (like the flood did with the forerunner's super AI: mendicant bias) and use the reapers to destroy themselves. Furthermore reapers are only half machine, their organic infrastructure would make them susceptible to infection, and the war is going to end pretty soon when unknowingly infected reapers join up with the rest of their forces.
      That and after infecting their first reapers they'd have all of their wisdom and battle knowledge at their disposal.

      Even if they didn't, the Empire's number of ships ranges in the hundred thousands and in the final day of the Time War the Daleks were said to 10 million ships. That would mean there were over 20 billion Daleks in the Dalek navy ( according to the Doctor's assumption that a Dalek ship contains over 2,000 Daleks). In other words, I suppose it would be a bit of an unfair fight ( I still want him to do it though )!

      Even without time travel the dalek empire spans universes with no limit to how meny daleks can be produced and with a single dalek being able to take on an entire planet although it will take a long time even just Skaro alone would cockstomp the empire purely because of the daleks ridiculous power but mainly there tactical capabilities a good example of this is the battle of mindon where the daleks were able to perfectly coordinate and time there hit and run blitzkrieg now that does not sound like a lot but think how hard it is to execute a blitzkrieg and the preparation needed to perform successfully and in this case the daleks thought this on the spot no human Thawn, Rommel or Scipio could do this in the het of the moment and then add in the fact that the daleks had perfectly timed the CAS runs, rapid ground advance and suppression bombardments to enable the ability for forces to withdraw from the the battle to resupply and then put that on a planetary scale and this is considered simple dalek strategy.

      Too bad that the report is likely six months old by the time it reaches an Inquisitor's desk. Remember, information travel in the Imperium of Man is _painfully_ slow, and there aren't anywhere near enough Inquisitors to monitor every planet all at once. If the Inquisitor wasn't already in orbit over the afflicted planet when the outbreak began, there wouldn't be anything they could do.

  • @potassiumgamer1936
    @potassiumgamer1936 6 років тому +1

    Honestly, considering that this is during the late imperial era, with the empire being the only truely powerful military, this leaves so many planets ripe for the taking. The flood could win regardless of where it starts. If it strikes multiple planets that the empire consider insignificant and unimportant before the battle truely begins, there will not be much room for error on the empire's part.
    If the empire can attack the infection before it consumes a large population, or if the flood begins with one planet and the imperials can blockade it, they have a good chance. The key to beating the flood is to wipe them out BEFORE they gain control.
    If planets cease communications with the empire, a military force will likely be sent to investigate. However, not being aware of the flood's existance, and not being prepared for this, the forces would be swarmed and slaughtered. Even if the empire prepares a massive military fleet in response to this, all the flold need is one ship to infect another planet. Eventually, too many planets would be overrun, and the resources on them no longer available to the empire. Once the flood has enough control, even the death star couldn't contain them.
    If the flood started it's invasion in a more central territory, widespread panic would make the job much easier. Only select imperial high ranking officers and their men, such as thrawn and his fleet, would be able to escape the intitial attack. If thrawn were to survive, the empire might be able to hold out for a long time, but eventually, a lack of resources and reinforcements would leave him vulnerable. And if he is captured early on... no fucking way the empire can combat a massive force with the combined knowledge of enitre galaxies and one of the best tacticians in the galaxy.

    The flood stomps any universe that has access to interstellar travel. Even without it I’m sure a key mind would be able to achieve interstellar travel on its own through time. The intelligence factor of a flood infestation is the biggest threat.

    Just realized that if the flood basically gains all of the attributes that a host had prior to infection they could use the force if they manage to infect someone who can use it. Imagine an entire army of flood that can pull it's victims towards themselves as well as propel themselves and other flood forms quickly through the air. Along with the force, a lightsaber would be bound to come with it. SO on top of an army of force-wielding hyperintelligent parasites, one would also basically be a jedi/sith.
