I LOVE how Italy pushed you out of your comfort zone. Travel has totally done that for me too.
Emily, I would love to say that it was Italy that did this, but actually it's a process that was started long before I got here. I am here now out of coincidence, haha! But, it is true that people have A LOT less baggage with regard to body image, exercise issues, etc. Go ahead an ask a person from Italy if they "count Macros" and they will probably ask you if that's a kind of pasta!! It's kind of a great environment to be in.
I'm Italian and counting calories and macros and training too much, I lost my period. Now I'm in amenorrhea since three months, I don't count anymore and I reincluded pasta in my diet! I hope I will get my period soon...
I feel kind of ashamed of myself for letting me lose my period and I want to tell someone close so I can have some emotional support but I can't because of this internal shame :( I will also feel like a burden if I tell this to my family and they start treating me different or with pity.......... im so scared wtf
It sounds like you found your way to intuitive eating and listening to your body. xx
Hi me again i was wondering did i do a lot of damage to my body by not having my period during puberty. I had it 1 year Alger 12 lost it at 13 to 17 still don't have it, will i be able to reverse the damage once i get it back or is my body going to be weak for the rest of my life? I feel like losing my period at this stage is going to have a big impact on my future and i am really worried , trying everything to get it back ( except pill i want it naturally
Well...I am not a doctor and can't speculate on your body or your overall health. I can tell you that you are taking an important step in trying to get your period back. Talk to your doctors about the future and do what you can today. Rest, eat, and stay strong! XO
I can't seem to find your macro counter in the description box. Where is it? Thank you for all of your help!
Hi Vanessa, I don't use a macro counter, but I did (at the time) check my percentages (more or less) with My Plate from Livestrong www.livestrong.com/myplate/ I don't really like this tracker and have never used the mobile app, but that's the point!! I strongly suggest "no tracking" as soon as you sort of figure out where you can make adjustments. Email me if you have questions!! acaseofthejills@gmail.com
How long did u use it for and How long did it take YOU to get it back
Did you lose it after introducing running again?
How many grams of carbs were you eating or are you eating now?
I was 47 kg last year and now Im about 54 kg Im 166 cm so thats like perfect weight and yes Im fit but not shredded and have 20-21% of bf.Now Im on reverse diet and eat about 1700kcal and train 3x a week(2 days weights and 1 hIIT) wanna up my exercise to 4-5 days a week bc I feel better but ill up my calories for sure.Didnt have period for 1.5 years. And dont know should I gain more weight or stop exercise or eat more plss help I want my period back ( and I have insulin resistance)
Hi Aisa. I know it's hard to understand that what we think is a "perfect weight" and what our body needs to be healthy might be two different things. Perhaps you can email me acaseofthejills@gmail.com so that I can try to help answer some of your questions. xo
Aisa Kalamujic I lost my period a year ago and the only way I got it back was stopping exercise. Even if it was extremely hard I stopped it. It gives your body the signal that it is not longer in 'danger mode' and instead of using the calories to support your workout, it will use them to heal inside. You may get your period eventually but it will take longer, and not having a period for a prolonged period of time is extremely dangerous for bone health and can lead to osteopenia so you want it to come asap. There are people who have a healthy weight but don't get their period, but Ones they stop exercising it comes within a week or so, obviously it depends on each individual. I recommend you check out this girls audra videos on UA-cam, she really goes in depth and will help you tons !
I find it really hard to stop exercising :( how can you do that?? :( I really want to eat like a normal person, my friends eat normally and they don't even exercise at all and they are SO HEALTHY, no gaining or losing weight and they do not even care about that :( I don't know how to stop this messy cycle :(
And how long it took you to have your period back ??? Thank you :)
Katty Adams I find it really hard to stop exercising :( how can you do that?? :( I really want to eat like a normal person, my friends eat normally and they don't even exercise at all and they are SO HEALTHY, no gaining or losing weight and they do not even care about that :( I don't know how to stop this messy cycle :(

Angela you definitely need to gain more weight for your height. You're really tall and training way too much on very little calories
I used to be at 46kg 173... yah quite low .... now I'm at 53kg and still dont get My period... I eat 3500 kcal a day what should I do ???
You probably need to gain a little more weight
What were your macros when you finally started your period?
I only checked percentages of macros, but not the actual grams. I honestly couldn't tell you what the numbers were! I used an app that had a pie chart breakdown of percentages, so I only looked at that. Also, I only counted for a short time to educate myself about better food choices (I was way too high in fat, way too low in carbs), but I do not count anything now.
I gained lots and lots of weight but I still haven't got my period after 1 year of gaining so much , the only thing is I am counting calories and I don't know if it's causing stress which links to no period?
Anything that causes you stress can be related for sure! Have you watched the Hormonal Health series on my channel? It might give you more answers :)
