    Thanks so much for this! Still trying to get my period back!! Exercise only 30 mins four days a week, destressing as much as possible, and eat lots. It’s been almost a year without my period... although beforehand it’s ALWAYS been irregular! Thanks for giving me hope❤️

      You're welcome! It might be worthwhile to take a deeper look into your nutrition. It's also important to be sure that your exercise intensity is not too high... And as I keep reminding everyone, the pandemic has created a baseline stress that is throwing everyone off. Don't be afraid to make even more changes...every little bit helps :)

    The idea of shame and being proud...gosh, I SO NEEDED THAT! This is great, thank you so so much! I am trying to recover from hypothalamic amenorrhea after a huge stress fracture in my spine. I was a runner and I know I won't be able to run in the future, even after an operation. I'll never get back that confidence and I'll always be afraid of running again. I do love other sports, cycling and swimming, that I cannot do at the moment because I have to wear a corset 24/7. I'm looking forward to the new life that could start after recovery. I've finally understood a lot about me and running, me and sport. And I know I thought that running was my whole life, but now I am looking forward to starting living again, without running but with new challenges to front. Like accepting myself. Like building back my confidence. Like cycling over my beloved mountains. I'm sure this channel will help too. I am feeling ashamed, because of the fracture, because of the corset, because I was stupid. I don't wanna feel that way anymore. Thanks Jills!

      I'm so happy you found me! Welcome! You will find that all of the videos can be helpful for you in some way. They were created with the idea that returning to a sport may not be the right thing for everyone. I, myself, have had to learn a new way forward without running. My life is full of beautiful things that challenge and excite me. I wouldn't change the fact that I went through any of this. I know I am stronger now than ever. Enjoy the videos and also check out the website. If you have questions, you can email me acaseofthejills@gmail.com :)

    The quality of information that you share is so high. The things you mention as “mistakes” are so insightful and aimed at bringing the root of the problem into the light. This is hard stuff, but so, so helpful. I see myself in some of these things. The road to recovery is rarely smooth. Thank you so much for sharing.

    have you ever talked more about the idea of ,,now im getting ripped instead''? i feel like im losing myself again and after half of a year when i truly felt like im getting better, its started again.... how can we cut ourselves out of the focus on our bodies while trainign? like, can we split performence and apperance up at once?

    • @jillcolangelopsych
      @jillcolangelopsych  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. I have talked about the idea of transferring one obsession to the other, for sure. Sometimes people think "Ok, I won't be skinny, I will train for muscles!" as though this is going to help them combat an unhealthy body obsession. The problem here is not the "type" of exercise/body that we are interested in, it is the fact that WE have unaddressed issues within. We use exercise to compensate for these issues, but they never get fixed.

    Maybe a very stupid question, but I got on a pill after recovering and regaining my periods, and because of that my periods are very regular right now, so how do I know if I'm not slipping and doing "too much" again? I started running again but I keep it to max 2 days a week. Usually I was able to tell thanks to changes in my menstrual cycle.

    • @jillcolangelopsych
      @jillcolangelopsych  4 роки тому +1

      Not a stupid question! I do have to tell you that when you are taking the birth control pill, you are not ovulating...therefore, it is not a "true" menstrual cycle, but an artificially-induced monthly bleed. Unfortunately, there is no way to understand your true hormonal health when you are taking the pill. If you have more questions about this, go ahead and email me acaseofthejills@gmail.com

      Hello! I am sorry that you are suffering! I urge you to seek out a qualified healthcare practitioner who can help you sort out the hormone levels. In the meantime, please consider stopping keto, add starchy carbohydrates, sleep as much as you can, and take time off from training. Sending healing vibes...
