As a wrecker guy I can promise you everyone wants a deal and then when the job is done we gotta fight to actually get the payment we agreed on. That is an NRC CSR65 wrecker, its a 1.3 million dollar truck. 3 employees out there so at minimum they cost $200,000 a year. His insurance on that truck costs more every month than the truck does. Fuel is like $4.50+ a gallon . . . But everyone wants a deal! Brother I can sit at home watching cartoons and go broke, if I'm working I WILL BE PAID!
It's a beautiful truck.
@@tflo25 My buddy is a wrecker driver, I hear these same thoughts a lot. When I put my Silverado in the ditch a few years ago and he pulled me out for free with one of the work trucks I knew he was a darn good friend. He got a nice Christmas present that year.
I was a wrecker guy for 2 decades. Ifi hook it, im gettin paid before it gets dropped. Otherwise, i had a lovely impound lot😂😂😂
1.3 mil, maybe pre covid. Those trucks are even more ridiculously priced now.
@nickd.4512 it was about $950k for a new one pre build back better. Right now as a used truck it would bring $1.3. New NRC CRS65s are currently $1.3 if you order it today. BUT production is almost 3 years out so by delivery it may be significantly more, they no longer let you lock-in the price when you order.
You are nothing more then a “ Bottom Feeder”! Your type is what kills on the interstate!! You are too smart and skilled to be doing this. You will learn your lesson someday. 77 yrs😂
FSC: “How long you been doing heavy truck towing?”
Tow Owner: “Since 1978.”
FSC: “I was one year old.”
For the rest of the video, not a single word of advice from FSC to the Tow Owner on how to load it. FSC smart. ;-)
That rotator is sweet! No graphics, just all business! Adirondack's yard is awesome! Clean, no junk, no clutter. I like that owner, who knows his equipment.
The truck is so new it's not lettered up yet!
Needs to have a company name
@nickpatrick1636 needs name, city and state, and DOT number
First, I have a lot of respect for the wrecker driver/owner. He stuck to the job, even though it was a difficult one. Second, he must have been ripped off enough to be that adamant about payment, or learned well from someone who was. Either way, kudos to him for being a good businessman. Finally, this video wound up being an excellent demonstration of all the things that a wrecker truck can do at the hands of a skilled operator. Truly impressive.
Agree 💯. This guy dud a excellent job loading that tricky trailer 😮😊😊😊
After watching the first episode I thought this was going to turn into a train wreck. Props to you and to the wrecker owner. Kept his cool and completed the task at hand. All my respect!!!
Steve, this is a GREAT video! Kudos to the Adirondak wrecker team for making the project work. You are correct--they did a lot of work for $1,500.00. And good for you for blowing the end customer off on his attempt to negotiate the price down. I hope to never need wrecker service in New York, but I think you can guess who I will call if I do need help. I'm looking forward to the delivery video.
There is a fine line between being unreasonble and reasonable work. If it was anymore unreasonable, you prob would have back out just like the 7 other haulers. I admire that you actually got it on the trailer
I think it was more incredible tolerance on both companies parts because this buyer was doing everything he could to get under everyone's skin with his cheapskate antics.
This has turned into a 4 part mini-series! I'm waiting for the finale!
The tow trucks started with Ernest Holmes who was a interior decorator saw couple guys trying to git a car out of a ditch and that's how it started 100 plus years ago
You can take the boy outta Jersey but u can't take Jersey outta the boy. Steve you're a badass and the Adirondack Towing Inc team is one of the top notch Wrecker/Rotator businesses to do this job. Frustration on the part of the Rotator operator kicked in but he stayed with it and got the job done. Your content is always entertaining and informative Steve. Thanks for being u and not sugarcoating the Trucker life.
ahhh yes right on time. I got my food and Steve done uploaded!!
The Wrecker Driver did the Job. Just Pay him for his Hard Work.
“Too many cooks in the kitchen”😊
3 to 4 hours of that operator's time, his 2 experienced employees and a $1M+ piece of equipment should have been $3K-$5K easy!
And the end customer STILL wanted haggle the price down from $1,600? I was pissed for the wrecker operator when I heard Steve ask the customer "so you want me to haggle with the wrecker driver?!?! during their conversation on the phone. I applaud Steve for maintaining his professionalism during that conversation with the customer cause I probably would've spoke my mind lol.
And I also applaud the wrecker driver for his professionalism and keeping his cool during this debacle as well.
@@calebosterman3075The sad thing is he’s probably a millionaire. That’s how rich people stay rich.
One hell of a loading job Steve!! And no one was injured in the process!
A big thumbs up 👍 to Adirondak Towing! Great job Steve!
Great work all around and that wrecker looks awesome and EXPENSIVE!
What a well thought out wrecker. Everything in its right place, easily accessed. Re configuring was easy. Dosen't even need graphics or lettering to be flashy, looks all business. What a great little mini series and we haven't even hit the road yet. Dirty hands mean clean money and yall certainly earned it.
Steve this is a great example of why persistence is so important! Awesome content
Rotators are the only way to go. We dismantled a F86 jet in Florida and hired a rotator to load the pieces on 2 trucks so we could haul it to California. Worked out perfectly.
Damn, what a man has to go thru to make a buck these days.... good thing you had a skilled wrecker that would put up with that guys attitude and help you get the job done.
#1. Impressed to see how it was loaded. Now, waiting to see how it measures for road haul & trip to where ever it is going to be scrapped.
Easily rebuildable. It is a frameless trailer. Pair of draft arms, fix lift cylinder, and a replace the landing legs.
Good job - wrecker driver and the helpers were great - all coordinated and positive. Good job
I bet he wished he had another wrecker to just lift up each end of the damage trailer at the same time. We do loads like that all the time. Always have to get wrecked trailers. I am always training wrecker operators how to do certain load's and I am always paid dam good. We do have a big crane and we charge allot each hour. Lucky all our crane wreckers have remotes. My wife's grandma was like I bet the wrecker operator and Steve was happy getting it loaded.
Steve you do the most unique loads. Your channel is one of the most popular because of the loads you do. Stay safe and warm
The wrecker driver mad because he gets paid more with towing accidents not trash trailers
He’s mad he didn’t get to bill insurance on the original tow, hear his tone in the earlier video who brought this here bull shit he’s jealous he’s the bottom on this deal even with that big tow truck
He is mad because he has worked his ass off many times before and not gotten paid for it. Wreckers get stiffed all the time, if we don't fight for our money we don't get it and you can't keep the lights on like that!
Well I’m 19:18 into this video and I haven’t seen anyone mad? As far as not being the first accident driver….. perhaps but I wasn’t ever upset because someone else got a tow……. I was too working somewhere else!!! Ten years pulling cars and trucks before I got a real day job and no 24 hours a day on call!
NICE THAT YOU POSTED THETOW TRUCK DRIVERS CARD
The coolest part of the video. Even though the wrecker co was pissed...it became a challenge for everyone to get this rag loaded no matter. That was the goal
Great job and awesome content
I’m not the smartest but it would have made more sense to have loaded the rear first to start with. Can’t wait to see it unloaded. This is a mini series.Good entertainment.
Very well done, wrecker driver did a professional quality job, good job wrecker driver.
He should have you backed under just passed your wheels let it down ,lift the front and just roll the trailer back, done
Some serious skills and knowledge there, and it shows.
Should have been a team of riggers to do this, but customer wants, or needs a cheaper solution, and pi## off everyone, not much meat on the bone for anyone.
Great job all, and thanks for sharing.
That was a lot of work for 1,620 , that buyer should be happy.
What an amazing guy that Adirondack owner! Major kudos
FSC Trucking, My Hat goes off to the Wrecker Driver. Skill Driver for Jobs like this. great job guy's.
That wrecker guy may seem angry but you can tell he loves this stuff.
OUTSTANDING video Steve (as always). The wrecker driver/operator has 47 years of experience & it showed. - VERY professional operation, by everyone, all the way around.
Steve / W5BIB - P.S. you're getting close to 100k subscribers !
Birthplace of towing is Chattanooga TN. Ernst Holmes patented his invention in 1918. Holmes as well as several other wrecker manufacturers are now owned by Miller Industries. The wrecker used in your video is Canadian manufacturer NRC (I didn’t know it was started by a fork lift fabricator)
Phil , Your information is correct, I am a Canadian, We did not invent the tow truck or the wheel lift, The wheel lift was invented by two guys in Idaho , Have a great Day EH !
Those wrecker guys were excellent & professional. Food looked good as well.
The biggest problem in this whole ordeal was the buyer who made everyone's day on a difficult load to load with a top heavy front that much more stressful. Once he was out of the picture, you guys all seemed to work well together so I hope the buyer understands how lucky he was to get the type of companies he did who were willing to put up with his crap and do what needed to get done.
Amen to that. Those types of customers can be so abrasive especially in a challenging situation like this. The best thing these types of costumers can do is just stay out of the way and let the pros handle it and DON'T try to negotiate their prices down more when they're already getting a damn good price from seasoned professionals like the wrecker driver and Steve (Weidmeyer Express) for such a difficult job.
Exactly!
Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Everyone has their own idea and they are correct in their own minds. Actually no wrong way as long as the rust bucket gets loaded and nobody gets hurt.
I hope it comes off a lot easier than it went on!
This was one of your best videos yet! Been a subscriber for awhile and am always amazed how you make these loads work! Kudos to you and
Adirondack Towing, job well done!
100% to the recovery truck driver like the comment I made on the first video he expected a trailer for this type of load to push it straight on to I hope the company you contract for are happy to hear you call a client all them names well done for the videos from England
The customer got a frickin deal for getting away with paying the wrecker guy only $1620 that's for damn sure!!!
Earnest Holmes built the first wrecker is 1918, it was based on a Cadillac. Mr. Holmes legacy lived on into the late 80’s when they were bought out by Miller. I have one of the last Holmes wreckers produced in my fleet and wouldn’t trade it for a dozen Jerr-Dan. They built some legendary heavy duty (600, 750, 850 were some of the most popular) wreckers and they sort of were an early “rotator” so to speak. Check them out, absolutely fantastic pieces of engineering!
The wrecker driver is Amazing!
All I got to say is bells and whistles to that towing company❤
I've watched almost every season of Canada's "Highway Thru Hell" Heavy Haul Towing Reality Series. The fool of a customer is lucky he didn't try pulling this crap on Quiring Towing's Driver Gord Boyd or Jamie Davis's Drivers Scott Byrd or Adam Gazola. Kudos to this man for putting up with the fool customer's bull crap as long as he did.
Great video Steve really enjoyed watching you and the wrecker crew get this trailer loaded. It'll be interesting to see what it weighs and what permit you'll need to haul it. Thanks for sharing Steve looking forward to your next video!
The Mission Impossible sound track was a nice touch
Good job getting the trailer loaded
Good Job and that Wrecker guy was good and loved how you were with him and I think he saw that,Working with him after that guy f-ed him around in the past and you weren’t taking no 💩from the trailer owner 👊🏻
They're going to be a part 4 to this fuck around saga
Hopefully you tipped the guy for all his effort!!!
Hey man great video!!! You’re old school. Most of us would’ve drove away!!! This is something my dad would’ve done. I hope they paid you well and the owner tipped u well
Steve, with the comment you gave him (which is very positive), he is allowed to come out onto the NY Thruway on a non-emergent basis if you got stuck there.
Great video Steve. Everyone did an amazing job! No matter what people are saying, that wrecker driver is one awesome guy. Its just a damn shame they have deal with ignorant people on a daily basis.
Doing refrigerated freight is where a lot of the A-holes are on the brokerage side of things. 😮
I've loaded some weird stuff in the jankiest ways, this takes the cake. Guy's lucky you and the wrecker guy are too stubborn to give up. In the customer's defense though, it's cheaper to haul this wreck across the country and rebuild half the frame than it is to buy a new one. I'm interested now in the delivery and unloading, and if that turns into a train wreck or not.
Steve the guy that trying to run the show is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. The showrunner just needs to go back into the shop and let someone who knows what they are doing load the trailer? You've got more patience than I do.
I watch several other Wrecker/Rotator channels but this job was one of the most demanding and difficult. Great job to the whole crew that got this done. You guys constantly amaze me with your hard work, creativity, enginuity and "git er done" mentality. Tip of the hat to all of you.
👍👍nrc and great tow truck driver gets the job done every time.😎
I think after a while the wrecker company guy liked the challenge and wouldn't allow it to beat him. His equipment was new and clean. I bet he has seen some nasty wrecks in his time. The guy that bought the trailer must have got it really cheap, likely for major parts like the dump body and hydraulics system that are rather expensive new (this is a 2017 model trailer) to put on a good trailer chassis. Now you have to get it to Minnesota in one piece and dealing with the hassles of permits, etc. I bet your sandwich was better than you usually get at the truck stops.
I’ve really enjoyed this series of videos it’s taken to load this trailer. Great content! Keep up the good work!
With that wrecker driver having forty five years of experience, anyone working around that man the motto is, mouth shut, and ears open. This is the way it should work, the elder teaching, and the young buck listening. However in today’s society the younger generations know everything about everything and has never been around the situations or had hands on experience. Great job fellas, enjoyed your time, work and achievements. Take care and stay safe. My opinion, is hands on experience is more valuable than words in a classroom as far as educating someone in the construction field, I have been around it all my fifty years on gods green earth and would not trade it for anything.
Remember there is only two types of end dumps, one's have rolled over and one that will roll over!
Now Hero, were getting somewhere now. I guess you had it all chained down by the time they got the transaction cleared. I hope you got to eat your sub. Great work❤
47:25 - if the tow guy ever watches this the Carlisle Truck show is alive and well. I go every summer. Usually first weekend in August.
Wild load, dude!
I like the music that you're using, it's suspenseful because you don't know what's going to happen 😮😯😲😳😬
He was using a nine hundred thousand dollar Wrecker. And a holes like the guy that own that traitor are why wrecker Outfits have a law firm on retainer. When I work for that wrecker outfit where I live. We did a lot of that kind of Stuff. I have a lot of respect for that operator's attitude. He deals with scumbags and crooks every day. Jobs like That Are what separate the Men from the boys. Stay loaded stave.
More than that. NRC rotators go for over a million these days specced out.
@@alexjameson7110try 1.3 to 1.6 million dollars. 😊
As the tow truck operator, I wouldn't have given that SOB JACK for a discount. I would have totally charged him TOP-dollar to screw around with that junk trailer! Same with your company, Steve. But, I get it (business is business)!
There is a limit to how far someone can try to screw someone else before it becomes a legal and criminal situation. 😊
I think Orwell was very patient why you were loading the trailer
Hey Steve. I get where you & the Owner/Tow Driver are coming from. For what you all had to do to get this loaded $1620 is a HELL of a good price! In WA state a 20 mile 1 way trip just for a winch out cost Dominique over $6k. So yeah a HELL OF A GOOD PRICE. If your ever in South East Missouri Steve & need a tow. Shameless plug of a nother tow company & UA-camr Ron Pratt VP of Midwest Truck out of Scott City, MO. OLD school ethics, & old school professionalism. Does thing by the book, and sometimes his ideas don't work, but one of his employees will have an idea & you their idea worked better & he EXPLAINS what he's doing & WHY to the new Employees so they learn. Hopefully you never need them but... If you do you'll get 1st rate service out of them.
Boy that’s a nice wrecker.
Well the wrecker driver turned out better than he started off. Buyer who started this is a scumbag.
Looks like to much fun steve,, been there done that at least it never gets boring. Got her done thats what counts
Great video.
Really enjoyed it.
Used to be pretty good food in there as well, but I haven't been in there in a few years.
I really like how the Air tanks, Air Lines, Wiring is so exposed on the Trailer. Really adds to the Drama.
If the guy paying you watches your videos you won’t be hauling anything else for him like I said loose flappy lips sinks ships words of wisdom
Kinda sounds like he'd be happy not to haul for this supposed asshole anymore
I doubt it considering Steve was the only one who who took his junk.. If the customer is such a jackass as he sounds most people won't work for him or with Him.
man the maximum overdrive truck even sounds right!
Most interested video that I have seen in a long time .
You earned your money on this one.
Cant wait to see the next 3 vids to watch the unloading.
I used a wrecker of this size almost 10 years ago and it cost me $365/ hour and 3 hour minimum.
The wrecker owner/ operator did a heck of a good job. I'd recommend him.
What a pain in the azz! Hope all involved are compensated well!!
that's a nice 50 ton rotator i hope he's getting paid well to do this . i'm looking at a 100 ton one for 1.5 mill right now . this one is 450 thousand dollar's still get's the job done
I can't believe that's all he charged I was thinking more like 25
Awesome video probably one of your top five
how about you back up and let them do it...geeez steve everyone loves a back seat driver!
just came across your channel really enjoying,i have to say! adirondack towing was amazing!the frame is broken what would someone use this for?honestly between your fee and the wrecker wouldnt it make more sense to scrap it at a junkyard?
Great video guys.
Steve cool suspense music for this video (when "getting it done" had gotten tricky)
The guy that kept going under the load and putting himself into pinch points was driving me nuts. You finally said to him, "I don't know if I would be standing there." Holy crap that guy is going to die a horrible death. Any time im offloading with a crane or big fork lift or whatever, I do what I have to do and then get the hell away from the kill zone. I've seen chains break cables snap and you don't want to be anywhere near when the load shifts and comes down. Glad you got it loaded. Be well! :)
I agree my boss would have given me what did I tell you about working under load's, the second time it would be go home for a day or two No Pay to think about it
LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT OLD DETROIT IN THAT MOVIE TRUCK
well done, the buyer shouldnt have even tried to haggle with the tow truck driver. tow truck needs to make money as well.
That was a MASSIVE job
WELL DONE
FSC is this trailer, the one the flipped over on I - 87 "the Northway" a year or two ago? coming on at exit 17!
That ain't no sub with no onions or tomatoes steve lol
