Hey man, I just had an assessment centre today. Watched this a good 4 times over the last few days to put the nerves at ease. Really helped. You have a calming voice. Another tip for anyone, play ‘lose yourself’. Will help pump you up before hand

This is very reassuring and I needed this so much. Thank you so much Idin for your comforting words. I have an assessment interview tomorrow and I am feeling nervous about it. But you are right by saying that being too nervous will hinder myself to show my capabilities to the recruiter. I will keep you and your words in mind when I go into the AC tomorrow and fingers crossed everything goes well - even if it doesn't, it's still nice to know that I've done my best and I know I can pull it off again in the future!

I love the way you’ve formatted this advice. Just seems so genuine and like a 1-2-1 conversation. All the other videos have just been people telling you what to, how to act, what to say - which is great, although makes it more daunting. I have an AC coming up in a week (for tech though), and i feel like being a girl i’m already being put in a lions den with tech being such a male dominated industry. Thank you for your comforting words :) really helped get rid of the imposter syndrome

Definitely agree, I have 3 AC for 3 jobs with Qantas and jetstar in next 2 days and next week and being accepted into so many job AC means that they like what they see and what you can bring to job. Fingers crossed and good luck everyone.

About to do my AC for Qantas... What should I expect? ive never been to an AC before.
@@juliankendrigan5251 hey it starts with a big classroom orientation and split groups into tables to do activities to see how friendly you are and that you can work with others etc. then at end theres a 1 on 1 6 questions interview using the star method. Its really an enjoyable experience.

I found at that the company I applied to recruits 5 grads every year and the AC had exactly 5 candidates lol, makes me wonder what the point of the AC was when I was already hired

I've got a TC interview in a Magic circle firm in 2 weeks and my nerves are on edge. I keep thinking that I got there purely by luck especially because I wasn't always into commercial law and I didn't do particularly well on commercial & insolvency law subjects at uni even though I got a First overall 😐

Any tips on how to prepare for a firm’s online assessment? Also would you advise reaching out to a firm’s graduate recruiter on LinkedIn to ask for tips, or will this come across in a bad way?

I just didn't turn up
As a Director of an organization with over 4,000 employees, I am quite familiar with Assessment centers. I no longer allow them to be used for employment. Why? Assessment Centers are good at selecting leaders but "EXCELLENT" at selecting FOR applicants with the Dark Tetrad personality traits. Do I want to give priority to sharks, Psychopaths, Narcissists, Sadists and Sociopaths ? Hell No! Instead of AC's we rely on a thorough background investigation of each employee before they are hired. Our methods are expensive and take more time, but we have been able to screen out those people who would wreak havoc on our organization.
