Id love a video about becoming a barrister! Its very difficult to find somebody talking about becoming a lawyer in the Uk and explaining things as well as you do.
This was so helpful, thank you. I have a Scottish Law degree and currently travelling Australia trying to work out my next move! English qualified seems to be the best option.
Thanks for this video, Idin! I believe there is an alternative to getting a qualifying law degree that is not the Postgraduate Diploma in Law, which takes one year. The University of Bristol offers the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Law programme, which compresses the regular three-year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme into two years. There is also the LLB Senior Status programme at the University of York, which also takes two years. There are a number of similar two-year programmes for a qualifying Law degree in England and Wales. Although higher education is expensive, mental health is arguably priceless. It's not how fast you get there, it's when you get there.
Can you show us CV writing for to-be NQ solicitors? What should we focus on and what headings we use to showcase our best experience and the expertise knowledge we've gained during our training? Many thanks.
Im currently at sixth form and want to apply for a apprenticeship at a law firm straight after school but if i have no law knowledge how will i pass the SEQ exams without being taught the law or would i even be accepted into a solicitor apprenticeship.
Hi, I have a law degree and begin my SQE preparation course in January. I have a training contract at a local high street law firm. I work there as a paralegal and will go into the different departments. I’m doing the SQE part time (over two years) and plan to complete my QWE at the same time and hoping to be done in two years. Good idea or bad idea?
Hi! I’m an American that is going to be moving to England in about a year. I have an a degree that is not law. I’m wondering if I should start law school here and transfer what I can in terms of experience or should I just wait and apply for law school there?
You can qualify across different jurisdictions once you get a qualifying law degree! To name a famous example, the British-Lebanese human rights barrister Amal Clooney was educated at British and American institutions. She is also qualified to practise Law in New York State and England and Wales.
So let's say I am a registered foreign lawyer or uk qualified solicitor . Now apply from applying and finding a job and immigration , is it possible to get a visa and come the uk without a job offer ?
