Here's an extensive list of all the sounds mentioned in the video + more:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r-GWnIPkwuX-XCSDsPl7qMGwCrgHUTy5OQB6K0snAJ4/edit?usp=sharing
You're probably th only person that covered this, or most things really, this comprehensive. Excellent video!
Thank you mate and hope the video helped ya out :)
I thought he covered it once before or maybe it was someone else
Another high quality video from Jfarr. I love the detail you added to this vid compared to your old sound video. I don't think you needed to get rid of it though, so you don't lose money, just add in that vids desc that it's outdated and link the new vid.
Thank you for the support mate. The video was pulled due to the gun sounds all being incorrect. Since the render distance cuts off at 310m the true sounds of each gun would never be heard. This would cause a lot of people to watch the video to come out with the wrong impression. I might add an unlisted video link in the comments of this video but probably wont be making it public again.
@@JfarrYToh i see. Thanks!
I feel nerd in rust sometimes but when i watch your videos i see who is the biggest nerd here 🔥🔥🔥 another insane video dude
Haha thanks mate :)
Jfarr I absolutely love your vids and they are so much better than most other tutorials, you explain everything and still keep them interesting. This was a perfect example!
Thank you Tommy and glad to hear you appreciate the effort that goes into these videos :)
I've been watching a lot of Blooprint, Willjum, etc and they can always tell what weapons is being used on enemies based on nothing but sound alone, thank you for this guide, bookmarked for sure x'D
Thanks and hopefully this video can come in handy :)
The time and effort put into to this is greatly appreciated
Bro deserves more subs. Your guides are amazing, you go over things other content creators don't even think to cover.
Very interesting. Thank you for that work.
such a needed guide! keep going!
Thank you Sebastian :)
Excellent video man. Thanks, keep up the amazing content
I'm just starting the video, and I know you're pretty comprehensive, but knowing the sound of an admin raid can be insanely profitable
I was literally looking for a video like this one the other day, but couldn't find anything - this was great, thank you!
Thank you and glad to hear the video could help you out :)
What a banger! Was like didn't you already cover this not long ago? But after watching, this is such an improvement on the last sounds video, as always stella work!
Thank you anthony. The previous sound guide got a few things wrong about the gun sounds due to the debugcamera issue. However, glad to hear you enjoyed the revamped video.
Amazing man
Good video, will watch another videos.
you are awesome jfarr
Dang dude, this is so good. Been watching a lot of your vids, to get back in to rust, haven't played since launch, and even then only ~10 hrs
This video is so underated, sound is huuuuge I'm finding out it's the difference between dead and not. Massively good job, gona go back and like all your vids. Cheers
THANK YOU for this video! i have been playing rust long enough to have the frog boots and i didnt know like half of these
One that comes to mind is opening a TC or box with a Code Lock on it. When I'm trying to be quiet in base one of my friends often thinks "hey I'll just open the TC for no reason" and that audible beep can give us away.
great video keep up the good work !!
I remember seeing a comment a year ago about someone asking you to make a video of sounds. I appreciate that you made a video on this. I don't care how long it took you because you are one of the only content creators that gives rust tutorials on gameplay, etc. You basically covered the entire game, I don't even know how you do it. We love you and I will always support you!
Wow, that intro to the video with the microphone was so creative. It's amazing how you can think of this.
Jfarr with another BANGER
Cheers Schwiftyizzy :)
Jfarr has come a long way, i remember i joined at 1k subs. i keep trying to mention you in all my wipes to any random people, without him i wasnt going to be able to play rust, since the crazy small things i dont know about he covers them
I appreciate the long term support mate and it makes me really happy to hear these videos have helped you out :)
Amazing video
Thank you mate :)
Lol something about how the nail gun sounds xD I was playing the other night and someone started shooting me with a nail gun and it scared the shit out of me xD awesome video man! Hopefully this will help me and other beginners out!
Haha, thanks zackbayless.
The most underrated youtube channel in rust content ur a legend ❤
Thanks Lazy_DinoSnore :)
Another insane video which 100% required a shitton of time to produce. This is a masterpiece.
Great guide, I definitely need to learn sounds since finally getting better at PvP. This old farmer now can keep his own with youngins lol
I am a big advocate of silent raiding: mulitple SARs with sliencers use explosive ammo. I do not do this often but it is an effective technique.
Another banger, keep them coming. And staying on the them of sounds how do you get the game sounds to individually add for cinematic?
Thank you and I just record a demo from the console by typing "record customfilename". Then from the main menu I can preview/replay those demos
I love making a base in the middle of a bunch of other bases, spreading landmines all around and sitting in the base listening for the booms and watching general chat for people who get angry.
Hahaha, sounds satisfying.
What the QUALITY!
i wouldve loved this video when i first started
Hopefully there was still something to learn/enjoy from the video :)
Only thing missing I was curious about was the diving kit.
You forgot to mention the beep sound a codelock makes if its on TC or boxes when you open them, other than that nice video!
Ahh good idea. I will be linking a detailed google sheets soon with all the distances mentioned + some extras that I missed, like this one.
Wow thx
Happy to help :)
@@JfarrYT Bro you just make the best guides. I always send your videos to my noob friends.
Pr0tip: Just make sure you use *ProLogic* sound mode, as this allows differentiation between sounds coming from the front and rear. *Stereo* mode (as default) doesn't do this. Sounds from the rear sound as if they're in front as normal.
You shouldn't be using any audio emulation whatsoever and should only be using the default. How could you possibly differentiate anything other than left and right from two speakers?
@@paulallen575 When both speakers are vibrating opposite to one another (left goes forwards; right goes backwards, and so on), it makes it sound like the sound source is coming from either 'inside one's head' or 'behind'. When both speakers are moving with one another, it sounds like it's coming from the front. Use a bit of clever mixing and you can trick the brain into hearing sounds all around 360°. i.e. Left speaker is louder but right speaker is inverted, and it sounds like something is behind and to the left.
cool jfarrrr
Epic simon
Man Im surprised explo ammo isnt on this, especially silenced since some people think it is only as loud as a suppressed gun but that is not the case
Next video idea, Total cost for all skins in rust. Love your videos btw❤
Thank you for the idea crowner and I appreciate the support :)
@@JfarrYT i looked on yt for that video but it seems like no one did it.
sick
Great vid! Do we know if the underground recycler at Sewer Branch can be heard above ground?
What about the night vision googles? Does activating them make a sound for other players?
Did you test explosive round impact sound? When I tested it a couple years ago, I got 300 meters with silencer and 525 meters without.
Did anyone else wonder why he said that healing can be heard from 6m away, but in the example, he shows the healing sound from 8m?
I would have also appreciated some tipps of how sound behaves in the train tunnels. I have no problems with any sound in the game, but the tunnels always trick me. I never know from which stations shoots are coming or if they are above or below me.
Sorry about that. The sound range for healing 9 meters but accidently mentioned 6 meters. Also the underground sounds would be an interesting topic to delve deeper into, especially with the new tunnel connection system getting added.
Will all of this sound mechanics change with global rendering coming to rust? because you said with the guns the sound comes from the player themselves but when no longer rendered in you can't hear the sound anymore so I was wondering if global rendering would have an effect on this.
This is meta gaming
What time in the vid is explosive ammo with silencer?
7:41 there is something really funny about this image
JFAAAAAHHHH HEAAAAAAAA
Hahaha
Wish you would have covered explosive ammo w/ and w/out silencer.
Apologies. There is a linked spreadsheet pinned in the comments with all the sounds included in the video + more, like the explosive ammo w/ and w/out silencer. Essentially, the silencer only removes the gunshot sound. The explosive bang can still be heard from just as far, at 310 meters before cutting off.
how long did it take to figure all of this out?
Anyone know about stash sound distance? popping up and hiding it?
kimda like how you imagine a dog digging something up in a nintendo game haha
A HQM video
Haha, thanks mate :)
There must be a mistake with the python far-away sound, the rate of fire is way too high, no?
Deaf People: “Wait, my guns make sound?”
Blind People: “Which direction is that raid at?”
wasnt this already uploaded once?
Yeah, this is an updated and fixed version of the previous video has been unlisted. Previously, I didnt know about the render distance issue in the debugcamera. Therefore, the gun sound ranges were wrong
i feel like its just rng if you take out a weapon quiet or not.
Holy fkn shit this is useful af 😮
And OH MY GOD I've been avoiding bushes cause I figured they made noise :l
They jusy fixed the sound but funny how the f1 grenade sound is the same then a mini crash😂
Like your videos, but crouching in water make sounds?
Thanks mate and good question about the water sounds. I might be able to test the distances of that in a few days and put it within a global google sheets that I will link in the comments
THESE ARE INCORECT - just one example, your falling tree, can be heard farther away than chopping the tree.
Mini can be heard from way more than 8m.
Those values where showing how far away the camera was, not the max sound ranges.
Feel like pure shit just want old tommy sfx back
loudest sound is my laptops fan without headphone
Yoo what abt explosive ammo
Sorry about that. I have pinned a spreadsheet in the comments with all the sounds included in the video + more, like the explosive ammo w/ and w/out silencer. Essentially, the silencer only removes the gunshot sound. The explosive bang can still be heard from just as far, at 310 meters before cutting off.
@@JfarrYT bet bet thanks so much dude; appreciate u Fr
missed aircraft crash sound and ranged aircraft crash sound
Yo
G'day
Some of the guns still sound like garbage since the new sounds. like the M16 assault rifle, MP5, tommy gun and AK which sound like someone banging on drums or banging on a table really fast, the old AK sound was menacing especially hearing it from a distance, the Devs said they were placeholders but never changed them.
Ok who eats in a way that can be heard from 30 meters?
Your mom
@@DoNotLookHerePlzgottem
hey guys its jfarr here
New gun sound is terrible, Devs should definitely rework them, as it's hard to tell from distance which gun shoots compared to old sounds
Try this with your eyes closed
first :D
"the game" more like a lifestyle now.
.
..
I didn't even know there were this many guns in rust
g o a t
Cheers mate :)
Your voice is wierd in this video
