This scene is crucial. So underrated. Because it shows that BJ's dad's rhetoric WAS working on him. He was already sliding down the path toward being willing to kill life he didn't think was valuable. It's only thanks to Billy that he turns back. Beautiful.
Off topic, but if you think about it, Billie (his childhood friend) is the sole reason why BJ became the badass yet altruistic character we know today. Without her, he wouldve ended up as terrible and racist as his father. Meeting her changed his perspective and outlook of other less fortunate people. It also drove him to hate powerful and privliged a-holes (like nazi's). Its also saddening, if it wasnt for WWII he actually wouldve married her (Not that I dont like Anya). Just a thought. ......how the cinnamon toast f*ck did I get all these likes?

I love how the father and son actually talk things out. It's not a cliché "It's your fault!" "No, it's not!" *Bang* They took the Dad and rather than make him a stereotypical abusive husband and father, turned him into a compelling and interesting villain.
I like how even after all the years he still talks about how he could've "saved" B.J ,showing even after all that happned he still holds strong to his beliefs. And also how he didnt just straight up pull the gun out,but seemed to get a grasp on why His son would do all of this. When B.J Said "Daddy I'm your son." That was sad.
He isn’t interesting because he is so a terrible father that there is no contrast. But its normal for Wolfenstein. There are mean and good peoples. Black and White but no grey. And i think giving his father a humane face on some point would have been much better (like if he tried to protect his wife for example instead of giving her)
Not really, infact the story made no sense. The guy said he doesn't like jews, then marries one and has a kid with her. Not to mention he has a Jewish last name, and they write him in as a "nazi Christian" even though socialists hate religion. The stereotyping is just so bad.
@@Damitsall the one thing I have to point out is the only reason blazkos father married blazkos mom was disclosed at the very beginning when he said "I married you because I thought your father would be a valuable asset" besides that though, I think the story just serves as a way to link all the badass nazi killing together
BJ: *WWII veteran that mass murders hundreds of Nazi troops to overthrow the dictatorship’s rule in the US, becomes the most feared man among the Nazis and gets the nickname Terror Billy* BJ’s dad: *thinks aiming a double-barrel shotgun at him is intimidating*
I agree 100% with you ma boi. But he should have been tortured even more though, like chop off all his limbs or something. Disgusting character- Great job developers!
I like how this scene shows how both BJ and some Nazi soldiers aren't monsters. BJ could have just slit the guards throat, but he didn't. The guard didn't want to die over a gun and a monocycle, showing that he's probably an average person.
It was actually a nod to wolfenstein old blood. Its the part right before bj starts to commandeer a big ass robot to the city infested with zombies. Bj says that his father used to accompany him to the basement with guns because there are “monsters” there. There’s also a part where if you get near the well here in wolf2 mesquite part, bj will say something about the watch, which was a nod to wolfenstein new order while swimming down the eisenwald prison
11:49 I love that moment when he's acting like a quavering child, asking for his mother. Then, as he figures it out, he looks up with a glint in his eye and turns to take his revenge. Fantastic job Bethesda.
"There was a time... where I was scared of you---there's a time where I pissed myself with a gun pointed at my head. And you know what I feel right now? ---not a goddamn thing." This was such a bad-ass yet sad parting words for his father. That silent yet seething rage in the delivery really sold it.
So, it turns out hat Blazkowicz's father owned a property on "Forney Lake" which nowadays is called Lake Ray Hubbard, It's freakishly close to where I live.
I love how his father tries to assert his dominance throughout this whole conversation, not realizing that all hes heard of his son on the news, if anything, has been watered down by the nazis And no, I have not played this game, but I intend to
I am no supporter of the Nazis, never have, never will. But I have sympathy for Soldiers being scared for his/her life, good or bad. Another example would be if a this happened to a Stormtrooper (which by the way are literally space Nazis), I would feel sorry for him/her. This isn't anything to do with him being a Nazi.
Best voice acting in a video game EVER the greatest dialogue I’ve ever seen. “You know what I feel now? Not a god damn thing”. There’s been a lot of bad ass sayings in gaming but MAN that’s pretty gangster
When Blasco says "I'm your son", he's implying "don't mess with me, I'm strong now, you don't have to be tormented by me if you're good to me now". Lol.
I think BJ was looking for any reason to spare his father's life. -He traumatized him -He killed his dog -He beat him and berated him -He killed his mother -He points a gun at his son -AND he insults his fashion sense The last nail in the coffin for Rip was him trying to instill the same kind of fear into BJ as he did in 1920. Problem was, Rip is probably responsible for making the killing machine we play as this day. Patricide is a crime based in mankind's world, but was ultimately vindictively excused in a manner which felt all sorts of right.
@@richardavelino7383 I knew that his father deserved NO sparring of his life, after killing the Dog to me that was fucking it, the beating and berating and the killing of his mother plus pointing a gun was just him sealing his own fate.
I like how he was remembering the past in cutscenes, like normal person could, but when it returned to normal gameplay he held a gun and run angerly around. :P
C PT I would have shot his knee caps off then burn the wounds shut, then saw off his hand with a blunt rusty saw and finally hang him with barbed wire.
MikeyisHereFTW BJ was having bad dreams about monsters, so his dad told him that they are all gonna go kill it. They go downstairs and nothing is there, meaning the monster is gone. His father tells him to not be afraid. Even though he was a shithead he still taught him something
This level was truly touching and heartbreaking from getting the ring for Anya, when you see BJ’s flashbacks and when you finally confront your father learning he gave his mother away and that the bastard hasn’t changed a damn bit...Hopefully we meet his mother and Billy in the next game because they’ll be able to play as powerful connections for him to keep pushing forward.
Zemzy Oseris Well, it was splashing about in water, and getting reduced air can cause slower, more painful drowning I think, because you're still getting enough oxygen to keep you alive longer, but not enough for you to survive in the long run, fucking your lungs.
You talk about this because you hate inconsistency and cheap plot devices and you fight for a world where plot contrivance is not as obvious as it is now! You're the hero we need, but don't deserve.
8:52-13:47 could have been just one cutscene. I don't know why the player needs to participate at 13:23. If you have a weaker video card, it breaks the flow of the scene, and I'm pretty sure you only have one choice if you want to survive.

It's not a cliché "It's your fault!" "No, it's not!" *Bang*
They took the Dad and rather than make him a stereotypical abusive husband and father, turned him into a compelling and interesting villain.
And i think giving his father a humane face on some point would have been much better (like if he tried to protect his wife for example instead of giving her)
@@generalkenobi243 that would've been cliche and not right. Blazko's father always called her names and didnt love her, at least not enough to do that
Not really, infact the story made no sense. The guy said he doesn't like jews, then marries one and has a kid with her. Not to mention he has a Jewish last name, and they write him in as a "nazi Christian" even though socialists hate religion. The stereotyping is just so bad.
@@Damitsall the one thing I have to point out is the only reason blazkos father married blazkos mom was disclosed at the very beginning when he said "I married you because I thought your father would be a valuable asset"

-He beat him and berated him
-He killed his mother
-He points a gun at his son
