    Cool ideas, thanks! Makes me want to dedicate a channel out on the TR8S to just an FX box and select sounds based on that box. Normally, for me, I stick to 1 sound type by channel. This is a great reason to move outside that boundary.

  • @RyanZerby

    I appreciate that this isn't a knob-by-knob review (I can get that on other channels), but instead is a showcase of how/why in a real setup...

      Best to show a bit of the 'why' instead of only the 'how'! Thanks for checking Ryan!

    You're an absolute BOSS! More companies should send you their stuff, as you have a very unique point of difference to almost every reviewer I've seen: 1) You are completely dawless AND actually play gigs that way. 2) Your Jams / tracks sound wicked and are as mad as a cut snake!!!

      Well, if Roland sent me a vintage Jupiter 8, I’d probably not cry so yeah. But thanks and I’m glad you like it! Not sure if I’ve ever encountered a cut snake before. Have seen a polar bear on ayahuasca tho. Also mad

    Did you know the Acidbox also works as a limiter? I’ve been tracking drums from the tr08 through it (and Alesis sr16) and it makes them smack so hard just in bypass with the input level all the way up. Then I adjust the gain going in to get as much squash as I want. Pretty cool!

      @@AnalogKitchen yikes 😬 bet it was fun though! I barely have to move the cutoff in lp & the sub bass hits. I know its got a bit of soft limiting but think i may need to add something extra.

    A good demo of the Acidbox III filter. For the price, I would expect a midi sync input for the LFO, not a Tap Tempo button - unless I have missed something? That for me, is a deal breaker 🙁

    • @AnalogKitchen
      @AnalogKitchen  4 роки тому

      I didn’t manage to get the trigger in to sync up. Then again I didn’t dive into that yet. The fact that it’s mono (left in) or stereo (adding the right in) is what’s sold it for me. I’ll go back in this week to see if I can sync stuff up properly

    • @NSW-ye3xw
      @NSW-ye3xw 4 роки тому

      Thanks for the response. Like you, I have a multiclock. Did you sync the Acidbox to that?

    • @fts4life
      @fts4life 4 роки тому +1

      @@NSW-ye3xw No MIDI, but the CTRL IN port can sync the LFO to analogue clock. It can also CV the filter cutoff. It can even do them both at the same time with a TRS splitter, CV on the Tip and clock sync on the Ring.

    Damn, I almost want to see a wahwah pedal (ala hendrix style) somewhere in your workflow lol. Some pedal effects are something I always wonder why DJ's dont consider very often.
    We have 4 limbs, might as well incorporate them all into workflows lol.

      Isn't fiddling with low pass cutoff while playing essentially a wah effect? But yeah for sure using feet gives more opportunities for complex sound changes

    • @micindir4213
      @micindir4213 4 роки тому

      I've seen Hawtin using expression pedal for delay/reverb feedback for noise wash. Very organic and cool trick.
      Once I've used expression pedal for total crossfade of a mix. It was very engaging and energetic, but seems like I've broken the pedal by the end of the show, lol :)
      I prefer wha pedal when I'm sitting and playing keyboards, that one feels most organic and so good with rhodes/ polysynth sound.
      I think separate filter is not really that cool, too much real estate lost for just one thing. If it would be incorporated into mixer , on the other hand ...

    • @py_a_thon
      @py_a_thon 4 роки тому

      @@micindir4213 Regardless of how you use foot pedals, I'm just amazed that more dj's don't use them in their workflow. You literally have more simultaneous tasks that you can do(and thus, more unique sound) if you map some stuff to a foot pedal (or use an analog pedal effect)

    Many years ago I saw a friend using a microkorg. I really wanted to get one but never did. Then within the last few years I started getting interested in synthesis again. However I saw that there was just countless millions of dollars worth of crap. I thought it was so dumb. Why would anyone need so many pedals or modules? Better yet why would someone need so many keyboards?! (Coming from a guitarist who’s okay with owning dozens of pedals and dozens of guitars lol). Now, I just want all of it. I want this. I want it all.
