    If you don't need a long track slider, but can make do with a shorter slider (up to 900mm), the Zeapon Micro 2 series are possibly the smoothest sliders ever, either in their motorised or non-motorised format. And there are not many sliders at the price range that can carry 8kg in the horizontal mode or up to 4kg in a vertical mode (even with the motor).

    Great video. I’m considering the magic carpet pro. Have you ever used the rhino slider pro slider? I feel these are comparable in price. Having to use two tripods with the 3ft setup is a down side. I really looking for the slider that willing give me the smoothest shots going manual and using a macro lens. Thanks

      @chadwin  Рік тому

      I haven’t used the Rhino slider pro yet. I will way it’s a bummer to need 2 tripods for a 3ft slider only, but I’ve been rocking the 2ft track recently and it’s actually totally enough for me! Definitely smooth enough for macro lens use.

    Great video. I looked at both of them but because I already have a Dana Dolly I am going to get the Emotimo ST4 system. Mostly because it seems like that system is more accurate in its repeatable tracking shots and is more capable overall. It's a little bit more (not much however!) but it seems like a huge jump above both of these. What's your thoughts on that?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 роки тому +1

      We use the Emotimo with our Dana Dolly everyday at the studio for a daily show we shoot and it’s fantastic! Yes, the shots are very repeatable and it can handle heavy cameras. It’s a bit of a pain to set up on the dolly the first time, but after that it’s effortless to use and can all be controlled with the included PS4 remote. If I had more room in my home studio, I might have bought a Dana setup of my own.

      @@chadwin Thank you for your thoughts, they are a big help. I think the only thing I am waiting on is Emotimo's new announcement coming at the end of August about their "new integration that will extend what you can shoot. Have you ever wanted to shoot the perfect Dolly Zoom, or “Zolly”? Not sure what that is but I would hate to buy on and then find out a few weeks later I bought something older.
      Where I am there is not much help available so I have to get a lot of automation for my 2-3 camera shoots.

    That Syrp slider is one that I've been looking at. Do you know if there is any other difference aside from the weight the pro version can carry vs. the carbon version? There's not much to be found in the specs on their website.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 роки тому

      nice! there's not any major differences between the 2 except for the payload capacity and weight. both are great!

    @utilisemedia 2 роки тому

    Thanks for the vid, Ive just discovered and researched Syrp and note that most videos for this is aprox 2 years old. Do you still think a 2 year old product it is the best option. Are you aware of any new sliders coming out in the not to distant future?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, it's not a brand new product, but it doesn't have to be, it's still a fantastic slider for today! My iFootage shark slider is nearly 7 years old and I still use it and recommend it. I haven't heard of any new sliders from either company yet except the iFootage Shark Nano, which is motorized but much shorter.

    I really need to invest in a slider. Do you have access to any Edelkrone gear?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 роки тому

      Yeah, a slider is a great investment! Well worth it. Probably my most used piece of gear after a tripod. I haven’t used any Edelkrone sliders yet.

    Instead of motorized head, why can't we simply mount a gimbal on the slider and get those repeatable motions? Both dji and zhiyun have that feature where you can set the way points, set times and circle through them as many times you want.

      Yeah for sure man! The SYRP slider is really nice and high quality! I am having an issue with mine right now since a part broke and it's out of warranty not, but hoping to get it resolved...As Far as tripods go, this Benro is really solid and my go-to usually for larger rigs. geni.us/BenroS8
